Dr. Manoj Siwach Registrar Chaudhary Devi Lal University Sirsa-125055 (Haryana)
One must strive towards excellence in all spheres of life, as it is the cherished objective of human life. Education is the art of learning and teaching. The aim of education is alround development of the personality of humans, propagation of human values, protection of culture and the creation of secular democratic society. Formal Education has been an established way to meet the above requirement. However, keeping in view, the socio economic conditions of masses in general, it has been observed that many people are deprived of the privilege due to such constraints in life as employment, financial and geographical. Here comes the role of Distance Education as it has proved a panacea for the have-nots in the field of education. It serves as an optimum trade-off between the routine professional/academic life and an urge to develop by resorting to academics. Distance Education provides opportunity to the general masses to taste the nectar of education in a peripheral way. The University Centre for Distance Learning of this University has been taking pains in developing curriculum in a user-friendly manner so that the students are provided an opportunity of learning at their doorsteps.
With the hope that the students will make the best use of the facility of Distance Education and will achieve their aim by lucubration and hard work, I wish good luck to all the students of Distance Education of this University.
