10 REAL FOOD SMOOTHIES

Im going to let you in on a little fat burning secretreal food smoothies taste just as sweet and refreshing as calorie-laden milkshakes, blended coffee drinks or an ice cream Sunday. Really! Its all about what your taste buds and sweet tooth are accustomed to, so why not learn to love refreshing smoothies made from blended fruits, greens and protein. My favorite smoothies in this book are.drum roll please. 1. Low Carb Green Smoothie: this is the tastiest way to get your daily greens as well as a nice serving of protein. Page 4 2. Creamy Fig Smoothie


Prep: 5 minutes Makes: 2 servings One serving equals: 305 calories, 14g fat, 8mg sodium, 40g carbohydrate, 11g fiber, and 9g protein

Heres what you need: ! 1 cup ice ! 1 cup unsweetened, chilled coconut milk ! 4-6 ripe figs, stems removed

1 date, pit removed 1 Tablespoon chia seed powder 1 Tablespoon flax meal 2 Tablespoons almond butter

1. Throw everything into your high speed blender and blend until smooth! *Note: It will thicken after a few minutes due to the chia and flax.

Low Carb Green Smoothie


Prep: 5 minutes Makes: 2 servings One serving equals: 155 calories, 4g fat, 105mg sodium, 15g carbohydrate, 2g fiber, and 15g protein

Heres what you need: ! 1 cup coconut water ! 1Tablespoon almond butter ! 1/4 cup wheat grass ! 2 cups spinach

! 1 scoop high quality, low carb chocolate protein ! 1 inch slice of banana ! Optional pinch of Stevia ! 1/2 cup ice

1. Combine all the ingredients in your high speed blender then blend on high for a full minute, or until the tiny pieces of spinach have disappeared and the smoothie turns a brilliant shade of green.

Green Smoothie in Paradise


Prep: 7 minutes Makes: 2 servings One serving equals: 177 calories, 7g fat, 45mg sodium, 27g carbohydrate, 4g fiber, and 5g protein

Heres what you need: ! 1 banana ! 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk ! 1/2 cup fruit only tropical juice ! scoop of raw almond butter

! 1 cup spinach leaves ! 2 large kale leaves ! ice

1. Throw all of the ingredients into the blender and puree until smooth. *If the blender you are using isnt high-speed then de-stem the kale before throwing it into the blender. Kale stem is pretty tough, and trust me you dont want to be chewing your green smoothie in paradise.

Green Power Smoothie 2.0


Prep: 5 minutes Makes: 2 servings One serving equals: 215 calories, 6g fat, 120mg sodium, 35g carbohydrate, 10g fiber, and 8g protein

Heres what you need: ! 2-3 bananas ! 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk ! spoonful of Raw Almond butter ! scoop of Raw Hemp protein ! scoop of Raw Cacao powder ! sprinkle of Spirulina (this bluegreen algae is a complete protein and is filled with B12 and other good stuff)

! handful of Wheat Grass (just cut it, rinse it and throw it in, no need to juice it) ! 1-2 cups Spinach leaves ! 2-3 large Kale leaves ! Optional: scoop of ice (I like my smoothies cold, but the kids dont so I add the ice after pouring their cups)

1. Throw everything into a high speed blender and blend on high speed until smooth. Enjoy!

Pineapple Sunset
Prep: 5 minutes Makes: 2 servings One serving equals: 197 calories, 4g fat, 6mg sodium, 35g carbohydrate, 4g fiber, and 2g protein

Heres what you need: ! 1 cup organic pineapple, chopped ! 1 banana ! 1 Tablespoon raw almond butter ! 1 Tablespoon raw honey

! 1 cup ice ! 1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice ! 1/2 cup frozen strawberries

1. Blend everything except the strawberries, then pour half of the mixture into another cup to reserve. Add the strawberries and blend until well combined. 2. In your serving glasses, pour a layer of strawberry mixture (its thicker, so should go on the bottom) then pour the reserved mixture on top. For fun you can add another plop of the strawberry mixture on top.

Creamy Chocolate Shake


Prep: 5 minutes Makes: 2 servings One serving equals: 302 calories, 11g fat, 104mg sodium, 50g carbohydrate, 8g fiber, and 8g protein

Heres what you need: ! 2 bananas ! 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk ! 1/8 cup raw cacao powder ! 2 Tablespoons raw honey

Prep: 5 minutes Makes: 2 servings One serving equals: 245 calories, 9g fat, 0mg sodium, 31g carbohydrate, 5g fiber, and 5g protein

Heres what you need: ! 2 bananas ! 2 Tablespoons raw almond butter ! 1 Tablespoon raw honey

Heres what you need: ! 1 banana ! 2 Tablespoons Raw Almond butter ! 1 Tablespoon Organic Raw Honey ! 1 teaspoon freshly ground cinnamon

Prep: 5 minutes Makes: 2 servings One serving equals: 215 calories, 10g fat, 0mg sodium, 27g carbohydrate, 5g fiber, and 5g protein

Heres what you need: ! 1 organic banana ! 2 Tablespoons raw almond butter ! 1 Tablespoon raw honey ! 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ! 1 cup ice ! 1/4 cup filtered water

! 2 Tablespoons raw cacao nibs (this creates small crunchy flakes in the shake. I really like them, but they are slightly bitter, so if you prefer use raw cacao powder instead) ! 5 fresh mint leaves

1. Throw everything into a high speed blender and blend until smooth.

Strawberry Kiwi Slushy


Prep: 5 minutes Makes: 4 servings One serving equals: 110 calories, 1g fat, 0mg sodium, 23g carbohydrate, 4g fiber, and 1g protein

Heres what you need: ! 6 kiwi fruits, peeled, cubed and frozen ! 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries

! juice from one orange ! 8 oz sparkling water, lime flavored ! 1 or 2 packets Stevia

1. Peel and cube the kiwis and freeze for a few hours. 2. Throw all of the ingredients into a high speed blender or food processor. Blend on high speed until smooth and slushy. 3. Serve with fun straws and garnish with fresh, sliced strawberries and kiwi. Enjoy!
