Dear Sally, I feel like I dont fit in. When kids in school are talking, I try to join in, but no one pays attention. They just keep on going without even acknowledging what I said. I feel that I am invisible. From, Doesnt Fit In Dear Doesnt Fit In, I think you should just be yourself. Dont try too hard to fit in. Be relaxed and comfortable. Be friendly to everyone, and eventually you will find a group that you will fit in with. Dear Sally, I am a girl and I have a problem with a boy in my class. He always has something inappropriate to say that annoys me. Everyday he starts with a new problem. I cant get away from him. Even if we dont sit near each other, he finds a way to bother me. What can I do? From, Wants It To Stop Dear Wants It To Stop, If you want the boy to stop, you have to tell a teacher or guidance counselor. Tell them how he is bothering you. Once you tell the teacher or guidance counselor, he or she will talk to him. Then your seat can be changed. If the problem persists, then further action can be taken. From, Sally Dear Sally, My boyfriend and I were going out for a very long time and

then he broke up with me. He never said why, but I'll never forget that day. Just because someone else liked him... he broke my heart. I cried and cried for a long time, and I didn't go to school the next day. Why? So I wouldn't have to deal with it anymore. I still cry about it. My friends tell me to let it go, but I don't think I can. I thought he was the one for me, but I guess not. I should just give up looking for the one. It might work out next time with me and him, hopefully. What should I do? From, Maybe Next Time Dear Maybe Next Time, Break ups happen all the time. He just doesnt realize how great you are. I know that he made a mistake and that its painful to you. You have to try to get over it. Do something fun to get your mind off of things. If he was the one to break up with you, dont go back to him. Someday he going to realize that he made a big mistake and he will want you back. Act like youre better without him, and that you dont need him. From, Sally Dear Sally, Can you tell me some signs that help you tell when a boy likes you? I really need your help! From, Not Sure Dear Not Sure, I think the best way to know is if they smile at you. Sometimes you will notice that the same boy shows up everywhere you go; thats another way. Also when a boy, who is your friend suddenly wants to talk to you about things that are bothering him, it could be a sign that he likes you alot.

Computer Science Education Week

An Hour of Code
of mixing human ideas and digital tools to increase our power. Computer scientists work in so many different areas: writing apps for phones, curing diseases, creating animated movies, working on social media, building robots, and so much more! Computer science is a top-paying college degree and computer-programming jobs are growing at two times the national average. Fewer than 2.4% of college graduates finish with a degree in computer science. The reason may be that 9 out of 10 schools do not offer computer programming classes. In 36 out of 50 states, computer science does not count towards graduation or math and science requirements. An opportunity to learn code is sponsored by a non-profit organization that is dedicated to increasing participation in computer science education by making it available in more schools. They also want to increase the number of women in computer science. If you want to learn to code, visit code.org, and try some activities.

By Abigail Martinez, Brian Navarro and Adham Nabawy The Hour of Code was an opportunity for every student to try computer coding for at least one hour during Computer Science Education Week. This event took place between December 9th-15th. Students in Mrs. Ingravallos computer class got to participate in this event. Students really enjoyed learning to code while helping the Angry Birds capture the pig. If you visit the site code.org you can watch tutorials and give coding a try. The sponsors of this event want students to learn coding early on, so that we will not have a shortage of computer scientists in the future. Computer science is the art
