CAREER PLAN REPORT
NAME: HAZLAN HUSIN
I. Objectives
At the end of my professional career, I want to be recognized as someone that made

positives differences in the lives of the people and the organizations that I was associated with. I
know I will have to work hard to get this recognition, and I’m willing to put forth the necessary
effort. I intend to approach everything I do with positives attitudes, lots of enthusiasm and a
desire to “make the differences”.
I am majoring in Industrial Management under the Manufacturing Engineering option.

Upon graduation, my immediate objective is to find a job where I can learn as much as possible.
In this phase of my career, I want to build a strong base of knowledge and experience. I also
want to gain some specialized knowledge in manufacturing but I do not want to become so
specialized that I am no longer flexible.
Achieving my short-term goals will prepare me for my long-term career aspirations. My

short-term goals have no salary constrains. I will relocate anywhere regardless of salary in order
to put myself in a position to gain knowledge and experience.
My long-term goal would be to get to the top of corporate ladder. It would be nice to do
this by climbing straight up one ladder but most likely I will need to jump laterally from ladder
to ladder to continue my assent. Ideally, I would like to end my professional career as a CEO of a
large, well-known corporation. I would really get enjoyment out of knowing that I make an
impact on the day-to-day lives of everyone my company influences
II. Career Path
Job 1: Procurement Executives( Age 23-30 )
Starting skills and experiences:
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering with a major in Industrial Management
• Strong academic performance, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Effective interpersonal, leadership, and team work abilities.
Basic Functions:
• Learn as much as possible about the each segment of industrial management that can
support the company.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Utilizes existing production control knowledge to help the department that involve in
production.
• Identifying production areas that need improvement to increase the productivity.
• Communication solution strategies to the team.
• Build on manufacturing knowledge by independently studying and by attending classes

and seminar such as Supply Chain Management class.
Types of Decision:
• Recommending specific solution strategies
• Assist in implementing these strategies

Organizational relationship:
• Nearly all work in done in teams.
• Interaction with management and other workers..
• Communication with the “experts” at the company (senior engineers)
Representatives Skills and Knowledge:
• Must have a broad understanding about industrial management and manufacturing world.
• Must be able to use technology
• Must be able to continually learn new segments of business and new processes.
• Must have good communication skills both within a team and within the customers.
Job 2: Senior Supply Chain Engineer (30-45)
Starting skills and experiences:
• Broad knowledge of supply chain management.
• Expert knowledge in some segments of supply chain.
• Business related written and oral communication skills.
Basic Functions:
• Assist Business Development in identifying and on-boarding future customers.
• Support for creating reporting and metrics
Primary Duties:
• Develop strategic, tactical and operational plans for supply chain related business
offerings
• Work closely with business development, customers and vendors to develop cost saving
and margin increasing processes
Type of Decisions
• Mostly concerned with data analysis and logistic.
Organizational relationship:
• Junior engineers are usually the responsibility of the senior engineers.
Representative Skills and Knowledge:
• Must understand the business of the company, planning, pricing, and logistic.
• Must be able to use the technology to solve problems and plan.
• Must have theoretical and practical knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain
management.
III. Analysis
The primary career I have chosen is procurement executives. This career requires hard work,
patience and perseverance. You must start out on the bottom floor and prove yourself. Through
this career you advance from junior executives/engineer to senior engineer.
An important characteristic of a procurement executive is to be analytical. Procurement

executives must use various quantitative techniques to address issues that involving when and
where to obtain financing when and if to accept projects. They must be able to sift through
numbers and obtain the useful information. Procurement executive make frequent use of
spreadsheets and financial models.
IV. Preferred Places of Work
As I mentioned before, I am willing to relocate to anywhere and work reasonable amount of

money for my first job. I would like very much either to work for circuit manufacturing or
semicon factory.
