Flier
Description: Flyer for Vouant Communications event in black and white Programs/Tools used for the assignment: InDesign 12/11/2013 Comm130 Section 4 Julie Peterson Process: After looking through the pictures in I-Learn I found one that was close to a sketch I had done and placed it into Indesign. I enlarged the image to take up the whole background then rearranged and cropped it. Then I inserted the body type and changed the point size and color so that it would show up against the black background. I did indent the body text inward from both sides to make fit and then made Do you want to have the competitive edge in business? quote larger. I went ahead and added the title and stacked it above a double black line. I placed the title near the head because I though that the focus is always near the face so you would see the title as well then make your way down to the body text. The date and time were arranged inside a box in the image and bold it. Then I went in and added the log on the bottom left corner just kinda out of the way because I didt want it to take all the attention but was place kinda of the end of the flow.

Event Ad
Description: Needed to create an fundraiser Ad for an event. Program(s) / Tools used: Microsoft Word, Magazine, Scanner 12/11/2013 Comm130 Section 4 Julie Peterson Process: I first scanned an image that had to relate to my bake sale idea and make sure that it came out in good quality. Next I looked up different backgrounds and a color theme that would good together to create unity, along with searching for fonts that would go into place. I decided to go with warm/fall colors for my theme and then found a font that went along and caught the attention of the viewers. I had to fix the spacing and use contrast in the title to make it more effiicient, as well as deciding how big and where I wanted to place my image and information.

Montage
Description: To create a montage and show the blending of two or more images. Programs/Tools Used: Photoshop: mask, paintbrush, grain filter Comm130 Section 4 Julie Peterson Process: First I try looking up examples of montages to get an idea then I had already an idea in my head and searched up words that were associated with that idea on Google and found an image that I really liked. I then thought about what the image was displaying and looked up quotes that went with the images I had chosen and found a font that went well with it. In my project I placed the image of the children and then placed the flower image with a mask. I slowly began to blend the two images together while changing the opacity to make the transition smooth. I then went in and selected the apples in the basket and gave them a filter of grain. I then went back to the mask and lighten and darken areas again and over the apples. I added my type next and aligned them differently and changed the point sizes to parts of it to show contrast. To make the type pop more I added a white box behind it then changed the opacity. I also added a mask to the box and slowly began to blend it into the background but left some of the lines there to give it a vintage effect.

Logos
Description: For this assignment we had to create 3 different logos for a company. Programs/Tools Used: Illustrator- pen tool, shapes tool Comm130 Section 4 Julie Peterson Process: When creating a logo I decided to mess around with the initials of my name and then I got the idea to work for a company in the gardening industry. I name the company Jennys Garden then drew some sketches and went from there. I picked my favorite 3 designs and then went in to illustrator and used the pen tool to illustrate the first and second logo. The first logo I drew up a flower in a pot and then for the second logo I design the letters into a unique way. The last logo I created a circle , filled it in with green, then placed the letter J in a white font inside the circle. For the fonts I downloaded them from Dafont and found some that matched with the design.

Stationery
Describtion: For this assignment we had to create a Stationery System with a new logo. Programs/Tools Used: Indesign, Illustrator; shapes tool, opacity, color swatch Comm130 Section 4 Julie Peterson Process: I first set up everything needed to save and create the stationery. Then I designed my monogram logo for a stationery for myself and once it was designed and I had chosen the colors I based the rest of my stationery off that color scheme. I like plain and simple because to me that seems more professional. So what I did for my letter head was place my monogram on the top left corner and then changed the background orange and changed the opacity to 30%. I created a bar at the bottom and inserted my information in green to have that contrast but not enough to take away from the message that would be written on the letter. For my business card I made it two sided with my logo on both sides and a darker orange for the background. My name and information was added but for my name and sub-header I decided to change the sizes and color to have contrast there.
