System Overview
The Cerberus Danger Management Station (DMS) from Siemens Fire Safety provides an integrated, useful approach to managing and controlling facilities from a flexible, easy-to-use interface. Moreover, Cerberus DMS provides facility-wide efficiencies, cost-effective data sharing, faster event management, and better decision making. Cerberus DMS software operates on UL Listed hardware that has passed rigorous performance and environmental tests. Cerberus DMS is UL 864 9th Edition Standard Listed for Control Units and Accessories.
Key Features
Server / Client Design
Cerberus DMS has a flexible, full-system design that integrates and enables customized workflow configurations. Cerberus DMS can be installed on a single PC, providing complete client / server system compatibility. The server hosts all information for the management station. Control of the fire-safety system can be transferred from the server to a client.
The User Interface The User Interface for Cerberus DMS displays all critical
data in a single view. This provides a fast, more precise response to events, and makes Cerberus DMS easy to use and easy to learn. Key components of the UI are as follows:
CerberusTM DMS
9300
Summary Bar The Summary Bar serves as a key source of information for Cerberus DMS event management, and highlights current system status s with clear indication of current event priorities. Event lamps for Alarm, Trouble, and Supervisory events are highlighted with different colors when events occur. The top two (2) priority events in the system that are currently active are displayed in the Summary Bar. The Summary Bar is visible at all times. Event Bar The Event Bar feature of the User Interface for Cerberus DMS displays a lamp for all active events currently in the system, and is visible at all times. Pane-Based Workflow The User Interface has a well-defined, pane-based workflow that keeps essential data in front of each enduser with no overlapping windows. End users can navigate the system through the System Manager or via graphical interface. Panes can be tailored to the user-specified requirements for a specific building or facility. Pane-based workflow provides the following features: System Manager used for navigating Cerberus DMS to view and control current conditions, analyze historical operation, and to configure Cerberus DMS. The System Manager uses a common, consistent workflow for all system navigation. System Manager allows the end user to select from traditional applications in Applications View, or permits userspecified navigation in Management View, guiding the use to the most relevant data (e.g. selecting a certain part of the building for analysis). Primary and Secondary Panes the primary pane is used to display information that is critical to event response. This includes device information; key facility graphics (e.g. campus layout), and floor-layout plans that show the location of selected devices or those that are in Alarm mode. The secondary pane is used to display additional critical information such as real-time camera views of events in progress, operating procedures to be followed to respond to events, and report templates used to document events. Related-Items Pane Items such as IP cameras, operating procedures and other information that has been linked to specific devices are listed in the Related Items pane. When a device is selected either by the operator or by Cerberus DMS (based upon an active event in the management station), all of the data that has been linked to that device is displayed and made available in the Related Items pane. Text Pane The Text Pane provides a summary of the current value and status of any selected object without any prior system configuration. This is a convenient feature for obtaining an overview of system and / or device status.
Investigative Treatment for Event Management Cerberus DMS enables fast response to system events through Investigative Treatment. When an event occurs, Cerberus DMS will find the device that is the event source in System Manager, and will populate data associated with that device, including graphics, cameras, and specific information about the device.
Operating & Engineering Modes Cerberus DMS Manager provides two (2) separate modes for system use: Operation and Engineering. In Operating Mode, the end-user has the ability to monitor and control the system, address events, and analyze current and historical data. Additionally, every user who is granted access privileges for system configuration can toggle the Cerberus DMS into Engineering Mode, where system parameters can be set and user accounts can be managed. This is a powerful feature that should be limited to only a few advanced users.
Event List
The Event List provides a complete, easy-to-filter list of all active events in the system. The Event List gives clear indication of each events source and current status. Custom messages and suggested action steps are displayed to the end-user, via the use of text, color, and icon representations. Events can be acknowledged, silenced, and reset, via Event List.
Real Time Camera Viewer Cerberus DMS can integrate IP video cameras for display
of live video streams of events in progress. This is a powerful feature that increases accuracy and speed of response to emergency situations. Built on the industrycompliant Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) standard, Cerberus DMS supports IP cameras from multiple vendors, including Axis and Bosch.
Remote Access The User Interface for Cerberus DMS can be accessed
from remote, non-UL PCs solely for monitoring, via the available Web Client. This Remote Access feature enables key stakeholders to have the same view of the User Interface as those operating the system from a remote PC provided Cerberus DMS is installed on an intranet site. This enables faster sharing of critical information over a wide area.

Specifications
Cerberus DMS has a flexible, full-system design that integrates fire-safety systems and IP cameras, enabling customized workflow configurations. Cerberus DMS can be installed on a single PC, providing complete client / server system compatibility. The Cerberus DMS server and dedicated clients run on a 64-bit, Windows 7 operating system (O/S) or a Windows Server 2008 R2 O/S. The server hosts all data for the system. Each client provides a high resolution interface to all relevant server data. Control of the firesafety system can be transferred from server to one of the clients, if desired.
Reports
The Cerberus DMS reporting tool includes standard reporting templates. The Reports feature also allows the development of fully configurable reports with custom logos, headers, footers and layouts that include tabular and graphical system information. Reports can be scheduled and saved in CSV or PDF file extensions for future use.
