Obama Reinvigorates the Muslim Brotherhood in America

Published on Wednesday, 11 December 2013 04:31 Written by Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Sami Al-Arian Under the Obama Administration, the Muslim Brotherhood has found a loving home in our White House. The Islamic terror organization is bent on bringing back a worldwide Caliphate and imposing Sharia Law on everyone, everywhere. Leading a new campaign pushing the Brotherhood here in the US, is former professor at the University of South Florida, Sami AlArian. U.S. Muslim Representative Andre Carson, D-Ohio made the reservations for the gettogether that Al-Arian and other speakers attended. The event was labeled as 'moderate.' A briefing recently took place on Capitol Hill, replete with pro-jihadist organizers such as Obama advisor Dalia Mogahed and Mohamed Elmasry of the Canadian Islamic Congress. Elmasry is blatant about his hatred for Jews and his intent to kill them. He believes any Jew over the age of 17 is a terrorist target because they are not innocent. He is a supporter of Hamas and a friend to Iran.

Leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad

Sami Al-Arian is notable because he was the North American head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. He has been very active in the Islamic Society of North America (Co-Founder), the American Muslim Alliance and the Council on American-Islamic Relations. A 50-count indictment against Al-Arian and six others in Tampa, Florida, who were believed to be fellow leaders of PIJ, was handed down in February of 2003. His case is on hold and Judge Leonie Brinkema issued an unsolicited order that significantly reduced restrictions on Al-Arian's activities, basically allowing him to roam and act at will. He has been under FBI scrutiny since 1996. He is now resurfacing here in America to push for the restoration of power of the Brotherhood in Egypt:
A new group advocating for the restoration of Muslim Brotherhood power in Egypt held a briefing on Capitol Hill Thursday. It is part of a series of events calling for "restoring democracy to Egypt." But like similar efforts before it, the push by the newly-established Egypt Freedom Foundation involves people with ties to Muslim Brotherhood organizations in the United States. And, the Investigative Project on Terrorism has learned that the event also attracted Sami Al-Arian to the Cannon Office Building on Capitol Hill. Al-Arian is a convicted terrorist-supporting felon who is still under a separate indictment for criminal contempt. Both cases involve his work with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a terrorist group for which Al-Arian served as a board member. He did not speak during Thursday's briefing, or at a follow-up event at a northern Virginia community college Friday night. But his presence, and his connections to the organizers, indicate that he may be more than a spectator.

At the two events, criticism was leveled at the Egyptian military for removing Morsi from office. The number of original protestors in Egypt marching against Morsi was estimated at 30 million. Egypt has a population of 80 million. This statistic was denied by the speakers and it was asserted

that the Brotherhood is popular with the people of Egypt, regardless of the facts. Both events were sponsored by the Egypt Freedom Foundation. The new Foundation has one officer, who was a chapter director for CAIR.

A Member of the Muslim Brotherhood

Al-Arian has acknowledged his past membership in the Muslim Brotherhood. Al-Arian and the Egypt Freedom Foundation are lobbying the Senate and House to get Morsi's removal reversed. This same Foundation blames the "pro-Israel lobby" for an aggressive push in favor of the military's action which included portraying a Muslim Brotherhood-controlled Egypt as a potential new theocracy like Iran. The Egypt Freedom Foundation seems to also be responsible for inviting a member of Egypt's Nazi Party to a recent Georgetown University event on Egypt and democracy. There was a loud outcry over this and the invitation has since been rescinded and the event postponed. From Atlas Shrugs:
The Egypt Freedom Foundation attracted about 30 people to a follow-up event Friday at Nova Community College in Annandale, Va. Yet another session was held Sunday at the Mosque Foundation outside of Chicago. The mosque that raised $50,000 for Al-Arian's defense in 2004 was described by the Chicago Tribune as home to leaders "who have condemned Western culture, praised Palestinian suicide bombers and encouraged members to view society in stark terms: Muslims against the world." Imam Kifah Mustapha was a paid fundraiser for the Hamas-support network described earlier, and Imam Jamal Said was named by prosecutors as a member of the network, which was known as the Palestine Committee. The event featured Tariq Ramadan, an Islamist intellectual and the grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna. The Mosque Foundation program is co-sponsored by the Muslim American Society (MAS) chapter in Chicago. MAS has been identified as the Muslim Brotherhood's overt arm in America, a connection confirmed by Aburrahman Alamoudi once one of the nation's most influential Islamists in a statement to federal investigators.

Large donations have been gathered for the Egyptian campaign. When a group engages in political activities within the US, such as meeting with members of Congress to lobby them on behalf of a cause or position for a foreign organization such as the Muslim Brotherhood, it is required that the organization in question register with the Attorney General under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. There is no record of the Egypt Freedom Foundation every doing so. But with the help of the Obama Administration, Sami Al-Arian and others are definitely reinvigorating the Muslim Brotherhood in America and increasing their presence, power and reach.
