Govts nod to Plan supported Pre-primary materials


PIB has provided substantial support as a member of core technical committee to produce the national Preprimary package (containing teachers guide-1, primer-1, charts-2, flash card -70, story books-10, flip chart-1), which received the government go ahead in November. 1st Regional Knowledge Convention held


The first Regional Knowledge Convention titled Poverty and Development: Realities from Grassroots was held in Khulna jointly hosted by PIB, Save the Children, ActionAid and Practical Action. PIB key contributor to the approved ECCD policy


On 4 November13 the government approved a Comprehensive ECCD policy that had been in the making for months. Plan International Bangladesh (PIB) had played a key role in drafting and finalising the policy that will directly impact about 27 million children (from conception to 8 years). Learning from each other


WATCH, a multi country project, arranged a Learning & Sharing Workshop in Zimbabwe from 48 November13. A six-member team from PIB and representative from CNO and other 05 WATCH countries attended the workshop. Girls cycle rally denouncing child marriage

Girls convention in Jaldhaka


The annual Girls Convention in Jaldhaka called for mass awareness to stop child marriage and guard against violence against women. Tree Plantation to mark International Day of the Girl


Plans sponsored children planted 5,000 Mahogany saplings in Hatibandha at 11:00 AM on 11 October 2013 to celebrate the Day in a unique demonstration of their awareness about a healthy environment. APPR workshop held


Plan organised Annual Participatory Programme Review (APPR) 2013 workshop across all PUs to share Plans programme target, achievement and challenges with stakeholders and seek their feedback about Plans work. Some 280 participants from GoB, UP, CBO, Child Protection Group, Children Organisations and Forums, teachers, PNGOs among others took part in the workshop led by MER. Nasima, BCO

ICT 4 Health
Forty Community Health Workers (CHWs) received TABs & training on DHIS Software under WATCH project in 06 Unions of Chirirbandar. Its part of PIBs piloting of ICT4H (ICT for Health). Children voiced their concern about drug abuse, child marriage and eve teasing at a quarterly coordination meeting in Chirirbandar where representatives of local administration including Social welfare Officer, Women Affairs Officer, Upazila Children Forum& SPG and PUM of DPU were present.
