This natural cervical dilator is produced from a sea grown plant. Once the plant is dried, it becomes hygroscopic and can swell to approximately four times the dehydrated diameter. This gradual dilation provides less trauma for the patient. Laminaria is available in diameters of 2mm through 10mm with lengths of 60mm and 70mm.

GENERAL USE

Laminaria is often utilized when cervical dilation and/or softening of the cervix is desired. Procedures include:
Treatment of Cervical Stenosis (a) Related to dysmenorrhea (b) Considered a possible cause of infertility (c) Resulting from cauterization or conization Induction of labor, drainage of uterine cavity, endometrial biopsy or uterine curette suction by cannula aspiration. Placement and removal of intrauterine devices.

LAMICEL OSMOTIC CERVICAL DILATOR

Lamicel is an absorbent polyvinyl acetal sponge, impregnated with less than 500 milligrams of magnesium sulfate (epsom salt). The sponge is compressed to finished size. Once formed, the dilators become highly hygroscopic and capable of increasing their mass up to three times over a period of time, when placed in an environment where they can absorb fluids. Lamicel OSMOTIC CERVICAL DILATOR, when placed in the endocervical canal, will provide gradual dilation under circumstances found to be tolerable to most patients, and safer and less traumatic than the rapid dilation and attendant risk of employing rigid mechanical dilators.

DISPOSABLE VACUUM CURETTES STERILE FLEXIBLE

INTRA-UTERINE SOUNDS

The aspiration kit allows accurate, speedy, in-office screening and diagnosis of endometrial cancer and specimen collection. Each kit is individually packaged and sterilized. Available in 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm cannulas.

The Intra-Uterine Sound is a single use sound made of white, malleable plastic. Prior to use, the sound can be curved between thumb and finger for following the curve of the cervical canal. With out-patients, the sound can be useful before inserting an IUD or for confirming the position of the uterus. The graduations are in centimeters and allow for the measurement of the uterine cavity.

Simpler, safer and effective. A unique, sterile, disposable curette for sampling the uterine endometrium. MedGyn EndoSampler is designed for obtaining clearly differentiated endometrial tissue without anesthesia, in an outpatient setting or as an office procedure. This instrument is designed to improve the efficiency, convenience, and reliability of the endometrial tissue collection and to reduce the physical discomfort of the patient which is usual for the endometrial biopsy. It provides liberal histologic specimens, surgical ease, and is procedurally cost effective for routine use. Except for rare instances, a cervical block, dilator or tenaculum is not required. The MedGyn EndoSampler is recommended for both pre- and post-menopausal women, for diagnostic purposes.
