Introduction to Blue Ocean Strategy: concepts and principles of Blue Ocean Strategy formulation and execution
Blue Ocean Strategy is centered on strategies to differentiate your products and services radically: freeing you from the red ocean of bloody-competition into the blue ocean of new opportunity. It presents a theory, tools, and frameworks to allow your company to break away from the competition and create a blue ocean of new market space. Course duration: 1 day Target group: senior and middle management Number of participants: up to 15 (TBD for more)

Summary
This seminar provides participants with a basic introduction to the concepts, tools and methodologies behind Blue Ocean Strategy and Value Innovation. Throughout the seminar, the participants will be presented the Principles of BOS Formulation and Execution and with case studies from different industries, providing immediate relevance to their business. By the end of the workshop, the participants will have a shared understanding of the challenges and shortcomings of conventional strategy, and a common foundation for addressing them using Blue Ocean Strategy.

The 1-day seminar will be structured in 4 working sessions, each one containing: Presentations of the Blue Ocean Strategy concepts and principles Interactive sessions with questions and answers Case studies (including video cases) from various industries, such as Nintendo Wii, Fralda Magica, Nespresso, M-PESA, Netjets, SouthWest Airlines, iTunes, Cirque du Soleil, Casella Wines Presentation of the BOS frameworks and tools: the Strategy Canvas, The Buyer Utility Cycle / Buyer Utility Map, Six Paths Framework and ERRC Grid Exercises to gain practical understanding of some of the BOS formulation tools

The Blue Ocean Strategy Seminar offers learning on new concepts, tools and systematic methodologies to deliver value innovation: A new perspective on business strategy (Blue Ocean Strategy Thinking) o What is Blue Ocean Strategy? How does it differ from conventional strategy? o How is Blue Ocean Strategy relevant in todays market conditions? o How would Blue Ocean Strategy be applicable to your organization? Where would you apply it? The concepts and elements in Blue Ocean Strategy (Blue Ocean Strategy Principles) o Reconstruct the market boundaries (lowering the search risk) o Focus on the big picture (lowering the planning risk) o Reach beyond existing demand (lowering the scale risk) o Get the strategic sequence right (lowering the business model risk) o Overcome key organizational hurdles (lowering the organizational risk) o Build execution into strategy (lowering the management risk) Introducing a systematic approach for the identification of blue oceans (Blue Ocean Strategy Process) o How can blue oceans be created in a structured and reproducible manner, leading to opportunity-maximizing risk-minimizing solutions?

About Us
Six Paths Consulting is a consultancy that adopts a highly interactive and collaborative approach. We specialize in helping companies create new sources of profitable growth - structured exploration of new market opportunities and assisting in the design and launch of new products and services. This is done through the integration of our creativity and strategy development experience with proprietary tools and methodologies built around the Blue Ocean Strategy process. Our objective is to exceed our clients expectations in delivering breakthrough growth ideas, and most importantly, to transfer knowledge and capabilities toward our clients. The seminar will be led by Ioan Carpus, Founder and Managing Partner at Six Paths Consulting. An experienced strategy consultant and trainer, Ioan has led innovation efforts for various organizations in both the public and the private sector. Previously, Ioan was Senior Fellow at Malaysia Blue Ocean Strategy Institute, a think-tank and government strategy consulting body. In this position Ioan has worked directly with Prof. Chan Kim in advising the prime minister and government of Malaysia on innovative development strategies. Ioan has an MBA from INSEAD (France / Singapore) and an LLB from the Al. I. Cuza University (Romania). He is a BOS qualified practitioner by the Blue Ocean Strategy Initiative Centre.
