Operating Instruction for Fluid Bed Dryer.

Operating Instruction The necessary quantity of air for the drying process is produced by the fan installed in the upper housing. The air stream passes through pre-filters to the air heaters where it is heated to the temperature previously adjusted on the thermostat or the temperature regulator. The clean and warm air passes through the product container, filled with wet material. This product container is equipped with a S.S. mesh through which the air stream flows. The air streams suspend or fluidize the material inside the product container. The exhaust filter bags prevent the escape of any material into the exhaust duct. On account of the intensive air stream, which surrounds each particle with warm air, an extremely quick and economic drying is possible. The humid air is exhausted to the outside of room. Operational Procedure: 1. Before the working process begins: I. Fill the product into container mounted on the trolley. II. Wheel in the trolley and fit the filled product container to the dryer by means of eccentric lever. III. Set the required drying temperature on the thermostat. IV. Ensure that the retarding chamber and product container are earthed with spring loaded earthing arrangement provided on the main frame. V. Ensure that the outlet flap is closed (to avoid motor overloading). 2. Putting into operation: I. Set the timer to the required drying time. II. Press the start button. III. The quantity of air supplied is regulated by an outlet flap. Open this flap slowly in such way as to ensure that the whole mass is transposed into a state of fluidization. Keep the lever in this position. The material being fluidized can be observed through the window. If the granular mass is sluggish or does not move when the air flap is opened, then the lever must be moved to and fro between open and close

positions for several times until material slides along walls of container. IV. Put on the heaters/open steam inlet valve. 3. At the end of the working process I. Shake the outlet air filter. II. Lower the product container. III. Wheel out the trolley with the product container. Directions: A). Before Drying 1) Fill product into product container. 2) Fit product container into dryer. 3) Press product container to housing by means of eccentric lever. 4) Adjust drying temperature on thermostat. 5) Adjust time to the required drying time. 6) Close outlet air flap. 7) Push green button. 8) Open slowly air flap by means of the lever until material is fluidized. Keep air lever in this position. This process can be observed through the observation window. If product mass is sluggish or does not move when air lever flap is opened, then the lever must be moved back and forth for several times until material slides along wall or container. 9) Put on heaters. B) After Drying: 1) Shake outlet air filter. 2) Lower product container. 3) Remove trolley with product container after releasing eccentric and empty the container. Precautions: 1. The connection of earthling be positive and checked it from time to time. 2. Ensure that the container and retarding chamber are connected to the earthing terminals before each operations. 3. In case of electrical heating and non flame proof motor:

A). The dryer not to be run with alcohol or any other inflammable solvents. B). The dryer not to be run in atmosphere containing solvent etc., i.e. , the room where dryer is installed should be free of solvents and their vapor. 4. Shake the filter bags few times during the drying process. This clear the filter bags from fines to smooth air flow. The air at the final stage of drying may be reduced so that fine dust is not formed. 5. After 5 minutes of drying cycle the material is cracked to obtain Satisfactory fluidization.
