AISG 2.0 Use the MTMA for an example, the following figure shows the information obtained after scanning the MTMA.
Issue 02 (2013-02-07)
2 Typical Description
1. 2.
1.
MTMAs are classified into two-port-input two- port-output MTMA, and two-port-input four-portoutput MTMA based on the port quantity.
The two-port-input two- port-output MTMA is applicable only to single-BTS control scenarios. That is, only one BTS can send commands (OOK signals) to the MTMA for configuration and maintenance. The t two-port-input four-port-output MTMA is applicable to dual-BTS control scenarios. That is, two BTSs can send commands to the MTMA.
2.
In dual-BTS control scenarios, both BTSs can execute the scan command.
When no serial number of two-port-input four-port-output MTMA is configured, both BTSs can execute the scan command to scan all serial numbers of the MTMA. When some of serial numbers of two-port-input four-port-output MTMA are configured on a BTS, the other BTS can scan only the remaining serial numbers of the MTMA.
For example, the two-port-input four-port-output MTMA supporting the AISG 2.0 protocol has two serial numbers HWD1 and HWD2. When the MTMA is not configured, both BTSs can scan HWD1 and HWD2. When HWD1 of the MTMA is configured on a BTS, the other BTS can scan only HWD2.
Procedure
Step 1 In the parameter input area, enter ADD TMA in Command Input(F5), and then click or press Enter.
Step 2 In the related parameter input area, specify related parameters. The parameters are configured differently based on the AISG versions. Use the MTMA for an example. AISG 1.1 The MTMA has four serial numbers, and therefore the BTS needs to execute four adding commands to add all serial numbers.
Issue 02 (2013-02-07)
2 Typical Description
The DTMA has two serial numbers, and therefore the BTS needs to execute two adding commands to add all serial numbers. When the two-port-input four-port-output MTMA is applicable to dual-BTS control scenarios, each BTS needs to run two adding commands to add all four serial numbers. The two serial numbers added on a BTS must contain the same frequency band information, and the frequency band information must be consistent with that of the BTS. For example, when the following four serial numbers are scanned: HWD1 (frequency band: 1805 MHz), HWD2 (frequency band: 1805 MHz), HWD3 (frequency band: 2110 MHz), and HWD4 (frequency band: 2110 MHz), only the serial numbers HWD1 and HWD2 can be added on the GSM1800 BTS, and the serial numbers HWD3 and HWD4 are added on the UMTS2100 BTS.
1. 2.
Device Name is user-defined and unique. Control Port Cabinet No., Control Port Subrack No. and Control Port Slot No. are configured as required. TMA Subunit Number is 1. Vendor Code and Serial No. are in the scanning result.
3. 4.
AISG 2.0 The MTMA has two serial numbers, and therefore the BTS needs to execute two device adding commands to add all serial numbers.
Issue 02 (2013-02-07)
2 Typical Description
The DTMA has one serial number, and therefore the BTS needs to execute one device adding command to add all serial number. When the two-port-input four-port-output MTMA is applicable to dual-BTS control scenarios, each BTS needs to run one adding command to add all two serial numbers. The serial number added on a BTS must have the same frequency information with the BTS. For example, when the following two serial numbers are scanned: HWD1 (frequency band: 1805 MHz), HWD2 (frequency band: 1805 MHz), only the serial number HWD1 can be added on the GSM1800 BTS, and the serial number HWD2 is added on the UMTS2100 BTS.
1. 2.
Device Name is user-defined and unique. Control Port Cabinet No., Control Port Subrack No. and Control Port slot No. are configured as required. TMA Subunit Number is 2. Vendor Code and Serial No. are in the scanning result.
3. 4.
If Execution succeeded is displayed in the command export area, a TMA is added successfully. If the TMA fails to be added, identify causes and add the TMA again.
Procedure
Step 1 In the parameter input area, enter MOD RXBRANCH in Command Input(F5), and then click or press Enter.
Issue 02 (2013-02-07)
2 Typical Description
Step 2 In the related parameter input area, specify related parameters. The parameter values in the following figure are only for reference.
NOTE
1. 2.
Cabinet No., Subrack No. and Slot No. are configured as required. The receiving channel 0 corresponds to R0A and receiving channel 1 corresponds to 1. The attenuation of R0A and R0B must be configured. Therefore run MOD RXBRANCH twice and choose 0 and 1 separately. Logical switch of Rx channel is set to ON. The attenuation factor of the receiving channel equals the actual tower amplification gain minus cable losses. The actual tower amplification gain can be queried by running DSP TMASUBUNIT. The cable loss is calculated based on the actual length of cables used at the site, including jumpers, feeders, and connectors.
3. 4.
If Execution succeeded is displayed in the command export area, the attenuation factor is configured successfully. If the attenuation factor fails to be configured, identify causes and reset attenuation factor.
