Text one a) The composer suggests that different identities can result in a lack of belonging.

The light coloured figure is moving away from the darker figures, and this juxtaposition of colours suggests that differing identity is the cause. Text two b) The composer suggests that identity will ultimately affect where a person belongs. Elle Macphersons identity is represented through the metaphor the chariot of her perfection. We see this representation of her being easily perfect detaches her from the persona in the metaphor a small cage of recognition. This cage is symbolic of her isolation and solitude caused by her identity. c) The composer uses contrast between the persona and Elle Macpherson to show how there is a lack of understanding and a relationship due to differences in identity. The metaphor My face a finely shattered desert portrays the composer as physically unattractive due to the 18 hours of flying. In juxtaposition to this is the appearance of Macpherson, described through the repetition of matching which suggests a symmetry that creates an attractive appearance. Thus we can see that the personas detachment from Macpherson is shown between the contrast of their characters.
