Summary of Sync Ambassador Training

The term, ambassador is a master disciplemaker who starts a disciplemaking movement in their part of the world. I believe there is one church in a city that meets in various locations. Paul wrote his letters to the church of Ephesus, Corinth, etc.

Plowing and Planting Gods Word (Ezekiel)

I. Plowing: Prepare the City for Gods Word (Ezek. 1-29) II. Planting: Select Ambassadors Who Practice and Teach Gods Word (Ezek. 30-48) The church at Antioch sent out equipped ambassadors (Acts 13:1-4), Paul sent Timothy to Ephesus as an ambassador (1 Tim. 1:3) and a network of ambassadors traveled with Paul from various cities (Acts 20:4). Thessalonica became a model city (1 Thess. 1:7-8). Paul left Timothy as an ambassador (disciplemaker) in Ephesus (1 Tim. 1:3). 2 Timothy reinforces the outcomes found in the outline of Zechariah below. We learn that Paul entrusted Gods word to reliable men (ambassadors) who taught others, endured hardship in obedience to God, and accurately handled the full counsel of Gods word to break the curse of sin and trap of the devil (2 Tim. 2:1-26; Acts 20:27). 2 Timothy reinforces the repeatable cycles of outcomes found in the outline of Zechariah below. The underlined outcomes below were derived from Paul telling Timothy that all Scripture was inspired by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16-17). All Scripture means Genesis to Revelation. Timothy was mentored by his mother, grandmother and Paul (2 Tim. 1:5; 2:2). Paul discipled Timothy through his letters (1 & 2 Timothy), prayers (2 Tim.1:3) and personal relationships of accountability (2 Tim. 1:4; 3:10-11; 4:9,13,21). As we build up the body of Christ internationally through Gods word and corporate prayer by a network of ambassadors, it will have personal learner and corporate target group outcomes. Notice how learner and target group outcomes alternate among the seven pairs (gather, send, network ambassadors who create a word-centered environment that launch ministries of justice and compassion, mentor young people, disciple the needy and make Christ Lord in ones cultural sphere through accountable relationships).

The priorities below are derived from the book of Zechariah as an outcome of ambassador training to build up the body of Christ internationally as outlined in this document. I. Repeatable Cycles of Global Priorities with Learner & Target Group Implications from Zechariah. A. Teaching & Reproof: Gather ambassadors across racial and denominational lines to preserve unity in the body of Christ through repentance of sin
1. Return to God by rebuilding the scattered church through His ambassadors (Zech. 1) learner 2. Trust God across national and denominational lines (Zech. 2)target group

B. Correction: Send out ambassadors as master disciple-makers who entrust Gods word to others for living obedient lives
3. Walk in God's ways for spiritual influence (Zech. 3)learner 4. Send ambassadors who share God's word throughout the world (Zech. 4)target group

C. Training in Righteousness: Network ambassadors through unified prayer as they entrust Gods word to others in breaking the curse of sin
5. Break the curse of sin through God's word (Zech. 5)learner 6. Network ambassadors in prayerful unity (Zech. 6)target group

A word-centered & prayerful environment created by ambassadors launch the following ministries: D. Good Works: Launch ministries of justice & compassion to develop model cities
7. Show true justice and compassion to the needy (Zech. 7)learner 8. Develop model cities so other nations seek God (Zech. 8)target group

E. Mentor: Do inter-generational mentoring to transform young people and grow nations

9. Transform young people into spiritual jewels attracting others (Zech. 9)learner 10. Grow nations in Christ with inter-generational mentoring (Zech. 10)target group

F. Disciple: Encourage spiritually healthy families to disciple the needy

11. Equip spiritually healthy people to disciple the needy (Zech. 11)learner 12. Encourage families to mourn their sin for powerful prayer (Zech. 12)target group

G. Accountability: Make Christ Lord in ones cultural sphere through accountable relationships
13. Design family and friend accountability for character development (Zech. 13)learner 14. Worship God as king over every area of life for fruitfulness (Zech. 14)target group

Summary of Sync Priorities

Prepare the soil of your city by standing in the gap before God (Isaiah; Jeremiah; Ezek. 1-29) Plant Gods word by selecting ambassadors who serve and empower people (Ezek. 30-48) Network trained ambassadors (see below) in prayerful unity (Zech. 6) Show true justice and compassion to the needy (Zech. 7) Develop model cities so others seek God (Zech. 8) Use inter-generational mentoring to transform young people into spiritual jewels (Zech. 9-10) Equip spiritually healthy people to disciple others so God rules every area of life (Zech. 11-14)

We are looking for prepared hearts that will respond to city- and nation-wide spiritual, economic, political and leadership crisis who desire to be prepared spiritually and learn disciple-making skills.

Sync: Follow Isaiah

From Forsaking to Meeting God: People forsake the Lord when they are prideful, idolize
work and trust man's accomplishments. People meet the Lord when they defend the cause of the needy, repent of sin and teach God's word to walk in His paths:
1. Forsake the Lord when you are ignorant, guilty and evil 2. Seek justice for the needy and God will hear your prayers 3. Come to God and defend the needy so you will prosper in the land 4. Repent of sin so God removes impurities and a city is redeemed with faithfulness and

righteousness
5. Teach God's word so people learn how to walk in His paths while He judges nations and settles

disputes
6. Humble pride of accomplishments to not idolize work 7. Stop trusting and worshiping man's accomplishments that disappear (Is. 1-2

Repent to Prevent Implosion of Society: If His people repent of sin, pride and injustice
toward the poor, God washes away sin. His glory and protection also come to prevent the implosion of society. If we do not repent, we enter into the point of no return in #3 - #6 below. 1. God removes resources and overthrows leadership because His peoples sin causes implosion 2. God judges pride and injustice toward the poor by killing its men in spiritual battle If His people repent of sin, pride and injustice toward the poor, God washes away sin and returns His glory and protection If people do not repent, God will do the following: 3. God commands desolation for His people if they shed innocent blood and are unrighteous 4. God brings fruitlessness to His people if they disregard Him, disrespect His works and lack understanding of His word 5. God burns in anger if His people do not trust His working and timing while calling evil good and good evil 6. God empowers nations to be the means of judgment against His people (Is. 3-5)

Sync: Follow Jeremiah to Pray and Choose Right Ambassadors

After we find prepared hearts who desire to be prepared spiritually and learn disciple-making skills in response to crisis learned in Isaiah, we begin praying for, choosing and equipping Spirit-filled ambassadors who will rebuild cities and nations. In Jeremiah, we learn to pray for and find qualified ambassadors who have the ministry vision to disciple nations, ministry mission to change culture and ministry values to rebuild cities so they can go forth in action-oriented obedience.

I. Pray for & Find Qualified Ambassadors (Jer. 1-13) Pray for Ambassadors: Communicate a biblical worldview, drink from rivers of living water
(Christ), pray for ambassadors after God's heart, fast on behalf of biblical illiterate people, search for honest and truthful people and teach nations to walk according to God's word: 1. Communicate a biblical worldview to build up nations in God's truth and destroy falsehood 2. Drink from springs of living water to receive God's glory and obtain help in trouble 3. Pray for ambassadors after God's heart to lead people with knowledge and understanding 4. Fast on behalf of biblical illiterate people without understanding and wisdom to worship God in truth and righteousness 5. Search for honest and truthful people who fear God so He can forgive their cities 6. Teach nations to walk according to God's word so they find rest for their souls in contrast to those who reject Him (Jer. 1-6)

Find Qualified Ambassadors: Consider the following qualifications for ambassadors who
disciple the nations: 1. Deal justly with the poor to see progress in your city 2. Repent of sin and know God's word as the first step to heal wounds 3. Appreciate God's ways instead of trusting the deception of man's wisdom, strength and riches 4. Call upon a wise and powerful God to heal your wounds and discover His purpose 5. Trust God for protection from persecution while discipling nations in His word 6. Care for nations in complicated situations so they can fellowship with God's people 7. Be humble and glorify God so you can praise and honor Him (Jer. 7-13)

We are looking for ambassadors with the following ministry vision, mission and vision to disciple and rebuild cities and nations.

II. Proper Ministry Vision, Mission and Values to Disciple & Rebuild Cities and Nations Ministry Vision to Disciple Nations: Confess your sins, hope in God and put confidence
in God's word as your joy and delight so it burns in your heart to warn the church of the devastating consequences when it forsakes Him: 1. Confess your sins and hope in God to experience healing during wars, famine and plagues 2. Allow God's word be your joy and delight when disobedient believers persecute you 3. Make God your strength and refuge so you can teach nations to know His power too 4. Place confidence in God's word to heal deceitful hearts and desolate cities 5. Continue teaching God's word and call people to confess sin reminding nations of the outcome when people disobey Him 6. Warn the church of devastating consequences if it forsakes God, sheds innocent blood and adds to His word 7. Share God's word that burns in your heart and trust Him to fight against your persecutors (Jer. 14-20)

Ministry Mission to Change Culture: When you do justice, defend the needy, equip
ambassadors, communicate God's word, plant His word in receptive disciples, stop following false gods and warn people of God's judgment, you turn from evil ways to stop God's wrath that ruins cultural spheres. In contrast, you prove personal knowledge of God by living securely and bearing spiritual fruit: 1. Do justice by rescuing the oppressed to stop God's wrath 2. Defend the cause of the poor and needy to prove you know God 3. Disciple others, including new ambassadors, to care and teach God's word so His people live securely 4. Communicate the fire and hammer of God's word to turn people from their evil ways 5. Plant His word in those pursuing a heart relationship to God so they can bear spiritual fruit 6. Stop following false gods that cause ruin in various cultural spheres 7. Warn people of God's judgment beginning with the church and spreading to all nations (Jer. 21-25)

Ministry Values to Rebuild Cities: The church is God's plan for building healthy cities.
Instead of taking personal responsibility, God's people often rely on government and non-profit organizations to solve problems in the city. Jeremiah encouraged an expanded role for the church in the city by speaking Gods whole truth (for us it is Genesis to Revelation) in order to seek its peace and prosperity. Only a healthy and obedient church motivated by God's love and repentance bring healing to a city effectively. The law written on the hearts of believers through the New Covenant empowers people to rebuild the city's ruins: 1. Speak everything God commands so the church obeys Him 2. Speak truth without lying to obey God even when it is not politically correct 3. Seek the peace and prosperity of the city where you live knowing God has a hopeful future 4. Rebuild your city as God heals wounds and restores the church to health 5. Allow God's love and repentance of sin motivate the church in healing various parts of your city to bring hope, favor and abundance 6. Rely on God's law written on your heart and mind through the New Covenant (Jer. 26-31) Once these correct ambassadors are found, we send them forth in action-oriented obedience simultaneously as they are being equipped

III. Go Forth in Action-Oriented Obedience Dynamics of Obedience: God waits for our obedience before He acts. Israel took the first step
in the water before God parted the Red Sea. The widow used up all her oil before God multiplied it as provision for Elisha and her sons. The little boy provided his five loaves and two fish before Christ fed the 5,000. Jeremiah obeyed God even when it was unpopular. Sometimes God asks you do something that is makes no sense from a human perspective. Let's see the dynamics of obedience that encouraged Jeremiah to live obediently: 1. Know that nothing is too hard for God if you obey Him 2. Call upon God for healing, peace, rebuilding, cleansing, forgiveness and prosperity 3. Turn from your wicked ways and do not follow other gods 4. Consider consequences of disobedience resulting in disaster so no disciples are made 5. Experience persecution when you obey God's word 6. Resist short-term fear of mistreatment and experience long-term well-being by obeying God 7. Trust in God by ministering to obedient servants (Jer. 32-39)

Maintaining the Right Perspective about Yourself: To maintain the right perspective
about yourself, do the next thing; obey God's word at every point; refuse seeking greater things for yourself; realize that discipline by God and fathers lead to healing; do Lord's work heartily and reject pride; and beware of boasting in accomplishments, riches, comfort and self-confidence: 1. Serve the city by doing the next thing during times of instability and sinfulness 2. Obey God's word at every point so things go well for you 3. Refuse seeking greater things for yourself that disobey God's word leading to death and destruction 4. Realize that discipline by God and fathers lead to healing, opportunities, peace and security 5. Do the Lord's work heartily and reject pride in your own works 6. Beware of boasting in accomplishments, riches, comfort and self-confidence (Jer. 40-49)

Encouragements to Trusting and Obeying God: God encourages you to trust and obey
Him by binding yourself to His covenant, rest in Him who defends your cause, trust in His power and wisdom, remember how He defends your cause and beware of consequences in disobeying God: 1. Bind yourself to God's covenant to prevent shame, wounds and defeat 2. Rest in God who defends your cause and defeats spiritual enemies 3. Trust in God's power and wisdom to destroy Satanic kingdoms 4. Remember how God defends your cause so you don't exhaust your strength 5. Beware of consequences in disobeying God that result in spiritual and physical death (Jer. 5052)

Sync: Follow Ezekiel in Plowing and Planting Gods Word

Action-oriented obedience learned in Jeremiah expresses itself by plowing the soil and preparing your community for Gods word in Ezekiel. Stand in the gap before God by using His word to confront sin, spreading Gods glory and holiness in your city, and developing a biblical worldview so people can see Christ. Live With Purpose So You Receive Eternal Reward in a Church that Changes Lives (I Cor. 1-16)
People spend much time in training to be an expert in sports, business or particular hobby. They do it to win a championship, receive a pay raise/ greater position, or award. These rewards are temporary. God has a better idea. He wants you to gain an imperishable wreath like winning the Olympic games, except it impacts you throughout eternity. How can you live with purpose and discipline so you can receive this eternal reward? "The church is: a conspiracy of love for a dying world, a spy mission into enemy occupied territory ruled by the powers of evil; a prophet from God with the greatest news the world has ever heard, the most life changing and most revolutionary institution that has existed on earth" (Peter Kreeft). A church that changes lives becomes like its target audience they seek to reach with the gospel. They discipline themselves to live purposeful godly lives to win an eternal reward. They study the Old Testament to learn how to resist temptation and seek what is beneficial so others may be saved. They know the biblical roles of men and women, proclaim Christ's death through the Lord's table, understand that spiritual gifts are given for the common good, employ the greater gifts in unity under God's leadership, practice love to conform people into the image of Christ, teach God's word to prepare people for spiritual battle and execute Spirit-led, interactive small group sessions to strengthen the church. "I want the whole Christ for my Saviour, the whole Bible for my book, the whole Church for my fellowship, and the whole world for my mission field" (John Wesley). Preach the Cross of Christ to Weak, Lowly and Despised People (1 Cor. 1-2) When you preach the gospel of Christ crucified cross in the power of the Holy Spirit, you understand what He freely gives you. God reveals Himself when you preach the gospel: Receive Gods grace and exercise spiritual gifts until Christ comes back again (1 Cor. 1:1-9) Sent by God to preach the gospel of the cross with power and unity (1 Cor. 1:10-17) Glory in crucified Christ wiser and stronger than man's wisdom and strength (1 Cor. 1:18-25) Associate with foolish and weak people to shame the wise and strong so no one can boast (1 Cor. 1:26-31) Experience the Spirit's power when you proclaim Jesus and Him crucified (1 Cor. 2:1-5) Listen to Gods revelation through the Spirit so you may understand what He freely gives you (1 Cor. 2:6-15)

Assign Spiritual Fathers or Ambassadors to Mentor & Disciple Younger People (1 Cor. 3-4) Fathers in the faith plant or water the word. They allow the Holy Spirit to inspire their works as they become wise in Christ. They serve faithfully knowing God judges motives. They endure mistreatment and dishonor. They demonstrate a loving way of life to children. Here is the outcome of fathers doing their thing: glorify God, receive reward at judgment seat of Christ, indwell by Holy Spirit, praise from God, spectacle to men and angels and show love. Assign fathers in the faith the task of planting or watering the seed for Gods glory (1 Cor. 3:1-9) Build good works upon the Holy Spirit to receive reward at the judgment seat of Christ (1 Cor. 3:10-15) Become wise in Christ instead of the world since the Holy Spirit indwells you (1 Cor. 3:16-23) Serve faithfully knowing God judges fathers motives with praise coming from Him (1 Cor. 4:15) Endure mistreatment and dishonor as a father being a spectacle to men and angels. (1 Cor. 4:613) Demonstrate a loving way of life as a father before children (1 Cor. 4:14-21)

Ask God to empower you in the following aspects of natural and spiritual fatherhood:
1. Plant or water the word so God gets the glory 2. Allow the Holy Spirit to inspire your works 3. Become wise in Christ instead of the world 4. Serve faithfully knowing God judges motives 5. Endure mistreatment and dishonor 6. Demonstrate a loving way of life to children

Confront sin in believers' lives with sincerity and truth(1 Cor. 5:1-8) Disassociate with sinning believers, but let God judge unbelievers (1 Cor. 5:9-13) Suffer unjustly to show the world your transformed life instead of suing believers (1 Cor. 6:1-11) Flee sexual immorality because your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:12-20) Experience marital unity and reject passion toward someone else causing divorce (1 Cor. 7:1-11) Pursue marital peace knowing you were bought with Christ's blood(1 Cor. 7:12-24) Show undivided devotion to the Lord regardless of your marital status(1 Cor. 7:25-40)

Create Proper Infrastructure and Process for Effective Discipleship through Who-le Counsel of God (1 Cor. 8-10) Exercise your freedom in Christ as long as action does not violate a biblical command (I Cor. 8:1-8) Restrict your freedom in Christ if an action causes a weaker brother to sin (1 Cor. 8:9-13) Refuse financial support if it hinders the spread of the gospel of Christ among those whom you minister (1 Cor. 9:1-18) Become like your target audience that you seek to reach with the gospel (1 Cor. 9:19-23) Discipline yourself to live godly with purpose so you win an eternal reward (1 Cor. 9:24-27) Study all of Scripture to learn how to resist various kinds of temptations through your relationship with Christ (1 Cor. 10:1-22) Seek what is beneficial and constructive for the glory of God so others may be saved (1 Cor. 10:23-33) Disciple Believers through Small Groups to Prepare for Spiritual Battle (1 Cor. 11-14) Show the example of Christ in gender roles based on the order of creation (1 Cor. 11:1-16) Eat the Lord's Supper in a worthy manner to proclaim the Lord's death until He comes back (1 Cor. 11:17-34) Exercise various spiritual gifts for the common good according to His will (1 Cor. 12:1-11) Employ the greater gifts in unity under God's leadership while showing honor and concern toward with one another (1 Cor. 12:12-30) Practice love, patience and kindness in persevering faith until people are conformed into the image of Christ (1 Cor. 13:1-13) Teach God's word to strengthen, encourage and comfort the church in preparation for spiritual battle (1 Cor. 14:1-25) Execute orderly, Spirit-led, interactive, small group sessions with hymns, instruction, revelation and prophecy to strengthen the church (1 Cor. 14:26-40)

After people are empowered and equipped in a small group process through Gods word, send them out to preach the crucified and resurrected Christ as they minister the kingdom of God in the world.

Send Out People to Preach and Minister Kingdom of God in the World (1 Cor. 15-16)

Preach the crucified and resurrected Christ for the forgiveness of sins according to the Scriptures as you are empowered by His grace (1 Cor. 15:1-11) Endure hardship in preaching the gospel because of the resurrection and knowing that God will destroy all evil authorities including death (1 Cor. 15:12-34) Give yourself fully to God's kingdom work because of Christs resurrection (1 Cor. 15:35-58) Support and engage in ministries that have open doors for effective work (1 Cor. 16:1-9) Involve families in gospel ministry opportunities of service, encouragement and giving (1 Cor. 16:10-24)

Are you giving yourself fully to preaching the crucified and resurrected Christ while serving, encouraging and giving generously to those engaged in gospel ministry?

Description of Rewards for Believers

Even though believers receive the gift of eternal life by grace through faith apart from works, they earn eternal rewards such as "gold, silver and costly stone." At the judgment seat of Christ, if their works are founded upon Jesus Christ, the fire of God's judgment will test and reveal the quality of their lives and service to God.
I Corinthians 3:10-15: By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. 11For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire and the fire will test the quality of each mans work. 14If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

God's Word is the plumb line. "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any doubleedged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from Gods sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account." (Heb. 4:12-13) In the last book of the Bible, the Word of God and testimony of Jesus Christ is the revelation of John to us (Revelation 1:2,9). Jesus, as judge, is walking in the middle of the lampstands, which symbolize the church. His eyes are like a blazing fire judging the church and each member within it.
Revelation 1:13-16: And among the lampstands was someone like a son of man," dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. 16In his right hand he held seven stars and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

Christ will also judge churches. Five of the seven churches (in Revelation 2-3) stagnated and tolerated things like worldliness and immorality. The churches in Philadelphia and Smyrna were the only two churches in Revelation 2-3 that had no rebuke because they were faithful, kept God's Word and did not deny Him in some area. They were instructed to continue persevering so their crown wouldnt be taken away. Many believers have lost a sense of urgency in living godly lives. Their apathy causes them to not believe that Christ is coming back soon. The book of Revelation is clear that "the time is near" and "I am coming quickly" (Revelation 1:3; 3:11; 22:7,12,20). Apostle John exhorted each of the seven churches to avoid spiritual decline and measure its life by the standards of the Word of God. Even today, every churchs tendency is stagnation and tolerating worldliness and immorality. God is calling His church to repent and embrace His love, truth, will, power, passion and revelation. Promises are given to overcomers to eat from the tree of life, receive hidden manna, obtain authority over the nations and achieve special honor. Overcomers from the church of Laodicea sit on Christs throne when they worship Him, keep His Word and obey His name (Revelation 3:21).
Revelation 2:5-7: Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. 6But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

Revelation 2:16-17: Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.17He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. Revelation 2:26-27: To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations 27 He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery Revelation 3:1c-3: I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. 3Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief and you will not know at what time I will come to you. Revelation 3:8,11-12: I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. Revelation 3:15-22: I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarmneither hot nor cold I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17You say, I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me. 21To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

How can believers prepare themselves so they are ready for the judgment seat of Christ? Individuals will have an opportunity to reflect on their lives concerning 15 items that will be evaluated at the judgment seat of Christ so they can be overcomers. Look at the following checklist: Objective Standards for Determining Reward Describe your present condition for each point and list corrective action needed. (Adapted from message by Mark Hitchcock): 1. Run with perseverance the race God gave us to run (spiritual intimacy)
Hebrews 12:1: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

2. Control your fleshly appetites to do Gods will (spiritual intimacy)

1 Cor. 9:24-27: Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

3. Look forward to the Second Coming of Christ (spiritual intimacy)

2 Timothy 4:8: Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

4. Be faithful to Gods word acknowledging Jesus Christ coming in the flesh (spiritual intimacy)
2 John 7-9: Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. 9Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

5. Persevere with patience under trial (spiritual intimacy)

James 1:12: Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

6. Love and serve Gods people (unified relationships)

Hebrews 6:10: God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

7. Rejoice when you received mistreatment, injustice and persecution (unified relationships)
Matthew 5:10-12: Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

8. Be careful what you say knowing God will judge you (unified relationships)
Matthew 12:36: But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. James 3:1: Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

9. Shepherd others willingly and eagerly with a servant heart. (unified relationships)
I Peter 5:2-4: Be shepherds of Gods flock that is under your care, serving as overseers not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; 3not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

10. Be wise and make the most of your time (unified relationships)
Psalms 90:12: Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

11. Be faithful in investing your time, talent and treasure for greatest return (sacrificial service)
Matthew 25:19-26: After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. Master, he said, you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more. 21His master replied, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your masters happiness! 22The man with the two talents also came. Master, he said, you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more. 23His master replied, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your masters happiness! 24Then the man who had received the one talent came. Master, he said, I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you. 26His master replied, You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?

12. Invest your money in ministries that serve Gods kingdom (sacrificial service)
Matthew 6:19-24: Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. 23But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

13. Spend your energy and find your joy in ministering to others (sacrificial service)
I Thessalonians 2:19: For what is our hope, our joy or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?

14. Be hospitable to strangers joyfully knowing that you may be entertaining angels (sacrificial service)
1 Peter 4:9: Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Hebrews 13:2: Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

15. Serve the Lord with all your heart through your vocation (sacrificial service)
Colossians 3:22-24: Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Reflect and Journal: a. For each of the above 15 items, summarize where you have held fast to the Word and not denied Christ. b. For each item, list specific situations where you need to obey or take corrective action (claim Revelation 3:19-21). Accountability and Preparation: 1. Sometime before the next study, meet with or call your partner. Share a prayer request concerning one or two of your most important corrective actions from these (15) questions. 2. Each of you take turns praying through Revelation 3:20 and ask God to make you a hot Christian and grace to accomplish the corrective actions mentioned above. 3. If possible, you and your partner register and attend together the next study: "The Big Picture"
