    Responsibilities

    Compilation of welding matrix, identify and resolve welding gaps against projects/Tenders/FEED requirements. Conducts analysis, ensures that designs are workable, makes recommendations and develops alternative solutions with conclusions reviewed by higher levels. Works with Manufacturing and Weld Shop to develop welding process improvements and new procedures. Assists Purchasing department in obtaining vendor material and process quality. Assists the Quality Assurance department in performing internal and external audits and qualifying new suppliers. Leads failure analysis testing. Prepares test reports and closure reports on engineering project assignments. Participates in product standardization projects. Attends appropriate industry related professional society meetings and functions in order to stay informed of and make good use of new technology, products and personal development opportunities.

    Main Tasks

    Provides welding engineering support to production and Product group. Establish welding specifications for projects/Tenders/etc. Review and approve vendor welding specifications for projects/ Tenders/ etc. Provide engineering support on welding requirements for projects/Tenders/etc. Review internal and external fabrication documents, including structural drawings, for selection of welding processes. Supports customer interface on welding related problems and recommendations.

    Requirements

    Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Material Science), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Metal Fabrication/Tool & Die/Welding) or equivalent. At least 4 to 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position. Working knowledge of welding processes, qualifications and related Industry Codes on welding.

    Working knowledge of structural and material properties, e.g. carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and their application Some experience of materials selection for oilfield application preferred. Good oral and written communication skills. Some understanding of internal economic factors affecting projects to which assigned. Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Database systems related to Engineering functions. Shows evidence of good organization skills. Full-Time position(s) available.
