From The President
Hi Newcomers & Neighbors, I am very excited about my role as president this year. We are fortunate to have such a dynamic group of women on the board. Everyone has been hard at work to make this another amazing year. Our first big event-the Meet & Greet is right around the corner. I look forward to introducing this years board, catching up with members and welcoming new ones. We have a lot of great events planned this month so I hope to see you there. Andrea Hopkins-Green
The Newcomers and Neighbors of Sewickley is here to help you get involved in the life of our community, meet new people and make Sewickley your home. We are a diverse group with varying interests and at various stages of our lives. Ladies meet once a month; September through May for fun and informative programs. There are many special interest groups that meet throughout the month. Our newsletter highlights a schedule of activities and details of meetings and programs each month.

Helping Hands
Helping Hands provides meals to Sewickley neighbors who have recently experienced a stressful event in their lives, such as the birth of a child, serious illness, or loss of a loved one. To request assistance, or to volunteer preparing and delivering meals, please contact Jade Morel , at [email protected].

Sewickley Serves
1st Couples Night Out for the new year scheduled for Sept 27th, Friday at Vivo. Evite to follow with more details. Please add to your couple calendar. See you there!
Attend the Sewickley Serves Social on Wed., Sept. 18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to Learn About Local Non-Profits. Held at the Sewickley Valley YMCA Community Activity Center, the event will be an open house format with wine and apps provided. Whether your passion is helping seniors, supporting the arts, working with animals or interacting with kids, come and get involved. All attendees are asked to please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Coraopolis Food Bank as part of the Sewickley Y's "Good Deed of the Month."

Membership
Welcome to the 2013-2014 Membership year. If you haven't already, please complete the online form, even if you completed it last year. We start over each year with our membership list. The membership form can be found at: http://www.sewickleynewcomers.com/ membership. As soon as you've completed the form please send me your dues right away. The sooner we have your dues the better we can plan our year. With so many exciting ideas we are looking forward to a wonderful year. Playgroups

Babies (18 mos and under)


Moms and Babes! Please join us for our first babies play group of the year on Monday, September 23rd at Triangle Park at 11am. Bring a blanket and some toys and enjoy a morning outdoors with your little one! (If the weather is too cold or wet, location will change to home of Erika Zeranski at 316 Thorn Street).

1s and 2s
Hey, mama! Do you have a 12 mo. - 2.9 year old? Come play with us on Wednesday, Sept. 11 as we eat al fresco and entertain the tots at War Memorial Park from 11:30-1:00 (weather permitting). Bring a lunch and meet at the first pavilion on the hill. Other children welcome.

Treasurers Message
Thank you for those of you who have already sent in your dues. Paying on time will help us considerably to plan our year. As was done last year, I will report throughout the year on our financial standing. With nothing to report yet for the year I can say we started in the black and will look to continue our sound financial decision making to keep us healthy and active this year. Mommy and Me Pilates When: Friday, September 27 @ 10am Where: Erika Zeranski's Who: moms and babies 3-12 months Join Stott Pilates instructor Molly Buell as she leads a laid back Pilates class with your baby. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket. RSVP to [email protected] by September 21st.

Monthly Programs
It is going to be a great year and I am looking forward to seeing you all. This year the programs will generally be held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month starting October 8th. There are a lot of fun things that will be hitting the calendar soon, look for the emails, E-vites and updates in our monthly news letter.
