TESLAS PROPHECIES ON COSMIC RAYS, RELATIVITY AND ENERGY

Roberto Handwerker - Milan, march 2012 deltaavalon.com Nikola Tesla, the Mozart of electricity, during his lifetime gave the world a number of incredible inventions: however, today he is ignored by textbooks and criticized by academicians, even if thanks to his genius mankind can widely use radio broadcast (as recognized by an U.S Court), AC electricity and induction motors only to mention a few: he issued more than 700 patents, of which at present unfortunately only about 100 are accessible to the public. The man who invented the XX Century had an unique vision of the future, which was deeply influenced by the Victorian age and his european, more precisely austro-hungaric, school education, which he later fully developed and utilized in the U.S.; it is surprising how much he could achieve with the poor technical means at his hands at the time but, of course, it is dealing here with a great scientist who has been blessed by God with uncommon gifts. His legacy is still well present today especially on the Internet where thousands of websites are dedicated to him, a clear sign that Tesla is far from vanish from the collective conscience (vox populi, vox Dei), after all. In fact on the other hand, a part of the academic world shows lack of respect to him and his ideas and seem to have completely forgotten his achievements, the same inventions which every day allow people to simply switch the AC light on, listen to the radio or watch TV. Some interviews and articles are listed below, where Tesla makes some astonishing declarations with the typical technical language of his time: everyone is obviously free to take these statements as he prefers, be it as dreams or as prophecies; anyway, these concepts seem to have become even more actual than ever.

"I have harnessed the cosmic rays and caused them to operate a motive device," declared Nikola Tesla, famous scientist, in an interview last evening on the eve of his 76th birthday... Exceed Velocity of Light "All of my investigations seem to point to the conclusion that they are small particles, each carrying so small a charge that we are justified in calling them neutrons. They move with great velocity, exceeding that of light. "I will tell you in the most general way," he said. "The cosmic ray ionizes the air, setting free many charges - ions and electrons. These charges are captured in a condenser which is made to discharge through the circuit of the motor. "I have hopes of building my motor on a large scale, but circumstances have not been favorable to carrying out my plan." He at that time announced two principles which could be used in this project. In one the ionizing of the upper air would make it as good a conductor of electricity as a metal. In the other the power would be transmitted by creating "standing waves" in the earth by charging the earth with a giant electrical oscillator that would make the earth vibrate electrically in the same way a bell vibrates mechanically when it is struck with a hammer. "I do not use the plan involving the conductivity of the upper strata of the air," he said, "but I use the conductivity of the earth itself, and in this I need no wires to send electrical energy to any part of the globe." * * *

Not a single one of the propositions of relativity have been proved. He described relativity as "a beggar wrapped in purple whom ignorant people take for a king." In support of his statement he cited a number of experiments he had conducted, he said, as far back as 1896 on the cosmic ray. He has measured cosmic ray velocities from Antarus, he said, which he found to be fifty times greater than the speed of light, thus demolishing, he contended, one of the basic pillars of the structure of relativity, according to which there can be no speed greater than that of light. About origin and power of cosmic rays: NEW YORK HERALD TRIBUNE August 18, 1935 Expanding Sun Will Explode Some Day Tesla Predicts The subject required extended investigation, but I finally ascertained with a reasonable degree of certitude, and to my amazement, that the sun was at a constant positive potential of about 216,000,000,000 volts. Thus the secret of the cosmic rays was revealed. Owing to its immense charge, the sun imparts to minute positively electrified particles prodigious velocities which are governed only by the ratio between the quantity of free electricity carried by the particles and their mass, some attaining a speed exceeding fifty times that of light. Since expressing, in 1896, my ideas on the origin and character of cosmic rays and of the cause of radioactivity, all my views have been confirmed by my own findings and those of others, while the numerous theories advanced have been proved false or inadequate. Those who are still doubting that our sun emits powerful cosmic rays evidently overlook that the solar disk, in whatever position it may be in the heavens, cuts off the radiations from beyond, replacing them by its own. Now, according to my theory, a radioactive body is simply a target which is continuously bombarded by infinitesimal bullets projected from all parts of the universe, and if this, then unknown, cosmic radiation could be wholly intercepted, radioactivity would cease. I made some progress in solving the mystery until in 1899 I obtained mathematical and experimental proofs that the sun and other heavenly bodies similarly conditioned emit rays of great energy which consist of inconceivably small particles animated by velocities vastly exceeding that of tight. So great is the penetrative power of these rays that they can traverse thousands of miles of solid matter with but slight diminution of velocity. In passing through space, which is filled with cosmic dust, they generated a secondary radiation of constant intensity, day and night, and pouring upon the earth equally from all directions. As the primary rays projected from the suns and stars can pass through distances measured in light-years without great diminution of velocity, it follows that whether a secondary ray is generated near a sun or at any distance from it, however great, its intensity is the same. * * *
