Thank you for your interest in working with the Royal British Columbia Museum in the
position of Executive Assistant. In order to be considered for this opportunity, you are

This questionnaire will assist the panel in assessing the five behavioural competencies
identified as mandatory requirements for this position. Please provide your response to

2. Initiative involves identifying a problem, obstacle or opportunity and taking appropriate action to

5. Listening, Understanding and Responding is the desire and ability to understand and respond
effectively to other people from diverse backgrounds. It includes the ability to understand accurately
and respond effectively to both spoken and unspoken or partly expressed thoughts, feelings and
concerns of others. People who demonstrate high levels of this competency show a deep and complex
understanding of others, including cross-cultural sensitivity. Please provide an example of a time
