whatsoever other than to have fun! More than 300 Cattaraugus County residents will come together to honor cancer survivors and their caregivers this Saturday, June 6, 2009
at the Ellicottville Central School Track. Tributes will also be paid to those who have lost their battle to cancer during the American Cancer
Society’s annual Relay For Life event to support cancer research, education, advocacy and patient & family services in the community. Relay
For Life is an overnight community celebration where people camp out, barbecue, dance, and take turns walking, running or otherwise moving
around a track “relay” style to raise funds to fight cancer. At nightfall, participants will light hundreds of luminaria candles around the track in
a moving ceremony to honor cancer survivors as well as friends and family members lost to the disease. Relay For Life represents hope that
those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated. Since

Home Team Comes Off the Mound with Another Win this Past Monday

The Villager Rockies knocked off the previously unbeaten Cattaraugus Royals and
moved into a 1st place tie after this past Monday’s game in Ellicottville! The Rockies
were led on the mound with well-balanced pitching from Robert Spell, Evelyn Cortez
and Conner Fitzpatrick who pitched a gem in relief! The Rockies were led at the plate
by Liam Watt with a grand slam home run and a double! Hunter O’Stricker and Parker
Rieman also had key hits to lead the Rockies. The Rockies will play the Little Valley Mets
on Thursday, June 4 in Little Valley and look to solidify their playoff position! Photos/
