Are you an early bird

Do you get up early? Or do you need three alarm clocks to get you out of bed? We meet two of our readers who have a very early start to the day.
Denise Gerrard (14) Denise Gerrard does a paper round in the mornings. " I get up at half past six, have a wash and get dressed. I leave the house at seven o'clock." Then she gets on her bike and delivers newspapers. Denise doesn't have breakfast before her paper round. "When I get back home, I have two slices of toast with honey and a cup of coffee. Then I brush my teeth." Denise leaves for school at quarter past eight. "School starts early, at quarter to nine, but we finish early, at quarter past three," she says. She practises the cello when she gets home. Then she has something to eat and does her homework. She doesn't go to bed late. " I go to bed at about ten o'clock."

Simon Adams (16) Simon Adams is a very good swimmer. He gets up at six o'clock in the morning. He has a small breakfast - a yoghurt or some fruit - he brushes his teeth and has a wash. Then at half past six Simon leaves the house. He gets to the swimming pool at quarter to seven and trains for an hour. He has a shower at the pool and then he goes home. He has a big breakfast of cereal, eggs and toast, and then he leaves for school at quarter to nine. Simon doesn't go home after school. " I go to the swimming pool again," he says, "and train for an hour and a half." He gets home at half past six and does his homework. He goes to bed at half past nine. Simon goes to the pool on Saturday mornings too, but he doesn't train on Sundays. He stays in bed late.

Fourteen-year-old Hannah Watson, from Liverpool, England is a girl w i t h a special dream! She wants to represent Britain in the Olympic Games, and she wants to win a gold medal! In some ways, Hannah is just a normal schoolgirl. She goes to school from Monday to Friday and does homework in the evenings. She loves TV, and watches soap operas and reality programmes every day, but she also dedicates a lot of time to swimming. She gets up at five o'clock in the morning, and goes swimming for two hours before school! After school, she goes back to the swimming pool and swims from 5 to 7 p.m. In fact, she swims 50,000 metres every week! Her life isn't easy. 'She loves her sport,' says her mum, Caroline, 'but she is often frustrated. Her friends are very important to her, but she doesn't meet them very often, and that's difficult for a teenager.' Hannah says, 'It's sometimes difficult, but swimming is my passion. I want to win that medal. That's my goal now!'
