SUBMITTALS: A. B. Product Data: Submit manufacturer's product information, specifications and installation instructions for all structural steel components and accessories. Shop Drawings: Submit complete shop drawings, including details and schedules for fabrication, assembly and erection of structural steel members, procedures, and diagrams. Include details of cuts, connections, camber, holes, and other pertinent data. Indicate welds by standard AWS symbols and show size, length, and type of each weld. Provide setting drawings showing all anchor bolt locations on plan with column grids. Show projection of each bolt above foundation concrete, length of threaded portion of each bolt and orientation of shear lugs. Design Analysis and Calculations: Provide design analysis and calculations for structural steel members of which sizes are not shown, and connections for

beams, girders and other steel member intersections. D. 1.4 Test Reports: Provide reports for tests conducted on shop- and field-bolted and welded connections. Include data on type(s) of tests conducted and test results.
TRANSPORTATION, HANDLING AND STORAGE: A. Stack materials out of mud and dirt and provide for proper drainage. Exercise care to avoid abrasions and other damage to shop primer paint. Protect from damage or soiling by adjacent construction operations. Keep steel members off ground by using pallets, platforms, or other supports. Protect material against corrosion and deterioration.

QUALITY ASSURANCE: A. Structural Steel: For design of structural steel members, comply with requirements of the American Institute of Steel Construction's (AISC) "Specifications for the Design, Fabrication and erection of Steel Structure for Buildings" for design requirements and allowable stresses. Light Gage Steel: For design of light gage steel, including purlins, eave struts, flange and sage bracings, base channels, sill angles, purlin spacers, etc., shall comply with requirements of the American Iron and Steel Institute's (AISI) "Specifications for the Design of Cold Formed Steel Structural Members" for design requirements and allowable stresses. Welded Connections: Comply with the requirements of the American Welding Society's (AWS) "Standard Code for Arc and Gas Welding in Building Construction" and AWS D1.1 "Structural Welding Code" for welding procedures. All the welders shall be subject to approval of the Engineer. Erector's Qualifications: Structural steel shall be erected by a firm that has not less than 5 years successful experience in the erection of structural steel similar to that required for this project, and that has been licensed by the manufacturer of the structural steel. Erector (Firm) shall be subject to approval of the Engineer. Inspection and Testing: Testing and inspection of structural steel, bolt connections and welding shall be performed in accordance with applicable codes and standards, and as directed by the Engineer.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 MATERIALS: A. B. C. D. E. Structural steel shapes, plates and bars shall conform to ASTM A36 or A529. Cold-Formed Steel Tubing: Comply with requirements of ASTM A500, Grade B. Hot-Formed Steel Tubing: Comply with requirements of ASTM A501. Steel Pipe: Comply with requirements of ASTM A53, Type E or S, Grade B; or ASTM A501. Buildup Members Fabricated from Plate or Bar stock: Comply with requirements of

ASTM A529, A570 or A572; minimum 50000 psi yield strength. F. G. H. I. J. Members Fabricated by Cold Forming: Comply with requirements of ASTM A607, Grade 50. Galvanized Cold-Formed Members: Comply with requirements of ASTM A446, Grade D, galvanized to ASTM A525, Class G90. Steel Casting: Comply with requirements of ASTM A27, Grade 65-35, mediumstrength carbon steel. Compressive strength (50 mm cube) shall be not less than 500 kg/cm at 28 days.

SHOP FABRICATION: A. General: Fabricate and assemble structural assemblies in shop to greatest extent possible. Fabricate items of structural steel in accordance with AISC specifications and as indicated on final shop drawings. Fabricate components and necessary field connections required for erection to permit easy assembly and disassembly. Fabricate components in such a manner that once assembled, they may be disassembled, repackaged and reassembled with a minimum amount of labor. Clearly and legibly mark each piece and part of the assembly to correspond with previously prepared erection drawings, diagrams and instruction manuals. Structural Framing: Shop fabricate structural framing components to the size and section indicated on approved shop drawings complete with base plates, bearing plates and other plates required for erection, welded in place. Provide required holes for anchoring or connections either shop drilled or punched to template dimensions. Shop Connections: Provide power riveted, bolted or welded shop connections as required. Field Connections: Provide bolted field connections, except where welded connections or other connections are indicated.

A.
Roof Deck: Provide metal floor decking formed to manufacturer's standard profile or configuration or as approved by the Engineer. Roof decking shall be manufacturer's standard preformed galvanized steel ribbed panels complying with SDI Specifications. Panel material shall be structural quality 0.80 mm thick galvanized sheet steel (minimum 42,000 psi yield strength) conforming to ASTM A446, Grade C; hot-dipped galvanized to ASTM A525, Class G90 (275 g/m). Profile Depth: As indicated. Design Uncoated-Steel Thickness: As indicated. Span Condition: As indicated. Roofing Panels and Accessories: Provide roofing panels formed to general profile or configuration indicated on Drawings or as approved by the Engineer. Type of roofing panels shall be as shown on Drawings, and in compliance with the following requirements: 1. Standing-Seam-Profile Concealed-Fastener Metal Roof Panels, Flashings and Trims: Fabricated from cold formed aluminum zinc 0.5 mm thick sheet in frost white color finish. Gutter and Downspout: Fabricated from 0.7 mm thick prepainted coldformed zinc-aluminum coil in frost white color finish.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND SHOP PAINTING: A. Shop-paint (primer) structural steel, except those members or portions of members to embedded in concrete or mortar. Do not paint surfaces to be welded or to receive sprayed-on fireproofing. Apply two coats of paint to surfaces that are inaccessible after assembly or erection. Change color of second coat to distinguish from first. After inspection and before shipping, clean steelwork to be painted. Remove rust, loose mil scale, and spatter, slag, or flux deposit. Clean steel in accordance with SSPC requirements.

PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 ERECTION: A. Erect structural framing true to line, level and plumb, rigid and secure, and in accordance with the requirements of AISC S302. Follow final shop drawings for details. Level base plates to a true even plane with full bearing to supporting structures, set with double-nutted anchor bolts. Use a non-shrinking grout to obtain uniform bearing and to maintain a level base line elevation. Moist cure grout for not

less than 7 days after placement. B. C. 3.2 Provide temporary bracing and guy lines to ensure proper alignment and to adequately protect persons and property. Install shear connectors in accordance with the manufacturer's written instructions. Use only installation equipment recommended by the manufacturer.
FIELD PAINTING: A. Apply finish coating to structural framing components and other items required to be painted as per requirements of Section 09900 - PAINTING. Colors shall be as approved by the Engineer. Cleaning and Touch-Up: Prior to application of finish coats, clean component surfaces of matter that could preclude paint bond. Touch up abrasions, marks, skips or other defects to shop-primed surfaces with same type material as shop primer. Protection: Protect work of other trades. Correct painting related damages by cleaning, repairing or replacing, and refinishing, as directed by the Engineer. Coordination: Provide finish coats that are compatible with prime paints used. provide barrier coats over incompatible primers where required. Notify the Engineer in writing of problems anticipated using the specified coatings with substrates primed by others. For further details regarding surface preparation, paint application, etc. refer to Section 09900 - PAINTING.

For excavation, backfill, formwork, reinforcement and concreting refer to applicable sections of the Specification. All structural reinforced concrete shall be Class 30 with 30 MPa compressive strength at 28 days. CLEAN-UP: A.
