Chronicle
I chose it because is not the typical superhero movie, despite what many will lead you to believe. Sure the whole crutch of the story is that these kids get super powers but its not like they use them to do superhero stuff. Its more of a character study about these kids who get powers and what real kids would do if given the chance. No capes, no costumes, no secret identities. The thing is, this movie is about growing up, learn, know that every move you make has consequences, good or bad. When you watch for the first time you are indeed stunned and want to see more and more the super telekinesis powers that the boys have, but after a while you see that thats not the main plot of the movie. Thats clear because you dont have to know where those powers came from. So, as the boys keep using their new powers, they become stronger, now moving bigger things such as cars, buses and whatever is big. They also start to fly. Well, the main character is Andrew a regular boy, not popular in school, who has problems at home, his mother is dying and his father is an ass.. Well, good enough, isnt it? Now, what happens if you give unlimited powers for such a boy? Yeah, the powers corrupted him. Thats why this movie its reflective of how evil we are naturally, in response to a cruel world, or just plain misunderstanding and suffering. It got me thinking quite a bit about it all. Its an interesting movie that struck a chord in me for sure.

The Help
I chose this film, for the important message it brings, it is also a very emotional film.
It is situated at the beginning of the 60s and shows how the issue of racism was at that time and how those people must have suffered humiliation from people who believed superior. Fortunately today we are far from that racism is illustrated in the film. In it we see women of color who had to work in the homes of white women and withstand abuse while tending and raised children of others for low pay. What most struck me about this film is that unfortunately is not fiction and that this did happen in USA. The racial issue is really important and sad because that never should happen. But as we see in the film there are people who was disagree with it and fought for the injustice against those womens and men of color.
