Project Hand Holding Support Customer CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA Period 2.5 years Role Team Member Description It is one of the largest domestic projects in India, TCS is the Vendor and Systems Integrator for Development, Customization, System Integration and Implementation of Core Banking Solution at CBI. The deployment is aiming towards a high-performance, 24x7 banking facility powered by state-of-the-art "build a better world around us". This comprehensive solution will enable the client CBI to provide a fully computerized Core Banking Solution at approximately 3000+ branches across the country. It is an Application Support and maintenance project for the Centralised Core Banking application B@ncs24. Skills Cobol, Basic commands of SQL (Oracle 9i), Unix and FTP. Responsibilities Maintain and Support branches database and front-end application. Good experience of manual testing on different functionalities pertaining to retail banking. My contributions include supporting the branches, which were facing problem in firing transactions and bringing branch to core for a newly migrated branch. Handled several Customer issues and get a quick closure on the issue within the time lines which maintained a good relation with the customer. Looks after the salary file, clearing files uploaded by the branches. Supported the branches if they have any problem in clearing cheques and drafts and issues regarding remittances and RTGS. In this project, I have handled the technical and functional support for the RTGS, Remittances, Clearing module, managing the bank's functional helpdesk and backend technical issues. I have provided the maintenance to the programs. It includes a number of COBOL batch and online programs as well as HTML screens with Oracle as database and SQL as database query language. The B@NCS24 applications contains other modules with which the module has to interface and interact, enabling integral functioning of the software.
