RESPONSE “Let Us Break Bread Together”Hymn # 366

GUIDED PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Leader: To you we pray,
ALL: Lord, have mercy.

Sung: When I fall on my knees, with my face to the

rising sun,
O Lord, have mercy on me.

PRAYER TIME
We continue in the spirit of prayer, moving from corporate confession
to private reflection and intercession. Feel free to pray at the altar or
at your seat, alone or with another.

CENTERING SONG “Once Again”

Once again I look upon the cross where You died;
I’m humbled by Your mercy and I’m broken inside;
Once again I thank You, once again I pour out my
life.

DECISION OF COMMITMENT “Here I Am, Lord”
(At this time, you are invited to pray, speak with a pastor, make spiritual commitments,
or indicate your desire to become a member of this fellowship.)

**(1) I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my

people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin, my hand will save.
I who made the stars of night, I will make their
darkness bright.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people
in my heart.(2) I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have
borne my people’s pain.
I have wept for love of them. They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone, give them hearts for
love alone.
I will speak my word to them. Whom shall I send?

(3) I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will send the poor
and lame.
I will set a feast for them. My hand will save.
Finest bread I will provide, 'til their hearts be
satisfied.
I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send?

WORSHIP NOTES. . .
*The cover art this week is from The Last Supper with Twelve Tribes, an oil
and acrylic painting on canvas by Hyatt Moore. The artist describes this
work as follows: “The Last Supper with Twelve Tribes was painted in the
year 2000 to commemorate the inclusion of all peoples under God.
Depicted [on the full image which will be displayed as we gather for
worship] (from left) are: Crow of Montana, Berber of North Africa, Masai of
Kenya, China, Ecuador, Afghanistan, Jesus, Ethiopia, Tzeltal of Mexico,
Canela of Brazil, Papua New Guinea, Salish of British Columbia, Mongolia.”

**As you sing “Here I Am, Lord” during the “Decision of Commitment,”
keep in mind that this song is written from two perspectives that shift
throughout: that of God, who speaks and asks “Whom shall I send?” in the
stanzas, and that of ourselves, who respond to God’s call in the refrain.

TO OUR COMMUNITY. . .

Praying for you,

John
