    All members of First Baptist Church should have received in the mail a list of names of men to consider for

    the Ministry of Deacon. The Ministry of Deacon is for a three year rotation and is held by men that have been called by God and called out of this congregation. They meet the Scriptural qualifications and the temporal qualifications of the church. During the Month of May you are asked to prayerfully consider whom God can use and select up to ten names on the list provided. These men will then go through a screening process and those who have accepted the call and meet the qualifications will be voted upon by the church in August. Deacons are not merely figureheads in the church nor do they run the church. Deacons are men called of God to minister to the needs of the congregation. First Baptist Church has a long history of outstanding men who have served and are serving as Deacons. With your prayerful consideration and participation and by the Leadership of the Holy Spirit that history will continue. Last Sunday was a wonderful day of worship at First Baptist.     THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAD A PART IN LAST SUNDAYS BILL & GLORIA GAITHER HOMECOMING CELEBRATION. The evening was a wonderful time of worship and celebration with the music of Bill & Gloria. We welcomed many guests from out of town and local churches. I am grateful to serve along side of Christian musicians who are sold out to the Lord. Thanks for using your spiritual gifts in such an effective way! CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP Musicians are needed to serve as leaders for contemporary worship. Singers and instrumentalists are invited to attend an informational meeting at 7PM, Monday, May 13th. Meet in the choir room for more details. FELLOWSHIP CLUB Our next gathering will be at noon on Monday, May 6 and we will have our end of year Picnic-In-ThePark, at the Boat Basin. Were looking for 2 pontoon boats for rides that day.     Did you know God has many names? And that each name tells you more about who He is? We'll go undercover every Sunday night this summer to find out more about certain "aliases" of God. Each night we will solve mysteries and decode messages- it will be kinda like a scavenger hunt throughout our Bible- so come join us and let the adventure begin! *Note to parents, the daily devotionals are super important for this study.
