SEASON NOTES
TONIGHT: This is the second part of a back-to-back for the Sixers who won at Cleveland last night. Philly is 3-15 in the second game of back-to-backs this season. The Sixers have won six of their past 10 games, including two straight, after losing 12 of their previous 13. The current winning streak is just Phillys third since the start of December (3 games from 1/30-2/4, 2 games from 3/16-3/18). After tonight, the Sixers will play four straight on the road from 4/3-4/9. Philly has won two of its past three road games after losing 15 straight, which was the second-longest road losing streak in a single season in franchise history. Tonight is the third of four meetings between the Sixers and Bobcats who play again at Charlotte on 4/3. Philly has won five straight over Charlotte, which is the longest streak by either team in the all-time series. JRUE DAT: On 1/24, fourth-year guard Jrue Holiday was named to his first ever All-Star Game, becoming the youngest player (22) in franchise history to receive that honor, narrowly edging out Dolph Schayes. He had 6 points (3-6 FGs), 2 rebounds, an assist and 2 steals in 15 minutes of play in his AllStar debut. Here are a few reasons why Holiday was deserving of the selection: Averaging team-highs of 18.5 points and 8.5 assists and is the only player in the league averaging at least 18.0 points and 8.0 assists. On pace to join Wilt Chamberlain (1967-68) as the only player in franchise history whos averaged 18+ points and 8+ assists in a single season. Ranks tied for 16th in the NBA in scoring (seventh in Eastern Conference) and fourth in assists (second in Eastern Conference). Averaging 5.0 more points and 4.0 more assists that he was last season and has recorded 20 double-doubles after having just one all of last season. FLYING DUTCHMAN: On 2/21, the Sixers acquired second-year guard Charles Jenkins and cash considerations from Golden State in exchange for a protected future second round pick. A native of Queens, N.Y., Jenkins attended Hofstra University and is the schools all-time leading scorer with 2,513 points. He was named Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year as both a junior and a senior. Jenkins was the 44th overall pick by Golden State in the 2011 NBA Draft. In 98 games with 28 starts for the Warriors, he averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 assists in 12.1 minutes per game. As a rookie last season, Jenkins started 28 games for the Warriors, averaging 8.6 points, 5.1 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 24.9 minutes per game. He also posted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.23 in those starts. PARGO NOT FARGO, EH: On 2/7, the Sixers signed guard Jeremy Pargo to a 10-day contract and he signed for the remainder of the season on 2/18. Pargo was not selected in the 2009 NBA Draft and played oversees until signing as a free agent with Memphis prior to the start of last season. He was traded to Cleveland on 7/25 and appeared in 25 games with 11 starts for the Cavaliers this season, averaging 7.8 points, 2.6 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 17.9 minutes per game.
