Telemeeting
1 Denition
The Telemeeting feature offers subscribers the possibility to meet by means of telephone conference and discuss topics of interest with other participants. The feature can be accessed by subscribers without special category by dialing a special service number (code point) published by the operator. Different special service numbers may be assigned to specific topics.

2 Mode of operation
The feature Telemeeting enables to connect up to seven parties with one another on one conference circuit. These parties constitute a closed discussion group. A telemeeting directory number can have several conference circuits assigned to it, so several discussion groups can be formed on one topic. All the conference circuits assigned to one telemeeting number constitute a telemeeting group. Up to 100 telemeeting groups can be set up in one network node. When a telemeeting group consists of several conference circuits, the ports of these conference circuits are seized according to a fixed pattern. An optimum number of participants (administrable, e.g. three) and a maximum number (administrable up to seven but at least as high as the optimum number) are defined for each conference circuit (discussion group). The first caller is connected to an announcement via a conference circuit belonging to this telemeeting group. He waits for further subscribers who wish to discuss the same topic. As soon as a second subscriber dials the telemeeting number, the announcement to the first subscriber is switched off and the two callers are connected to one another via the conference circuit. Other callers are also connected to those already speaking via this conference circuit until the optimum number of participants for the first discussion group has been reached. The next caller then becomes the first participant in the second discussion group and is initially connected to the announcement. Subsequent callers are handled as described above. When the last conference circuit of this telemeeting group has reached the optimum number of participants, further callers are switched to the first conference circuit until the maximum number of participants there is reached, and so on. A telemeeting group is full when the last conference circuit has been seized by the maximum number of participants. A telemeeting operator can enter a special telemeeting group at any time by dialing the appropriate service number. If there is already an operator in the desired telemeeting group, a connection to this group is not set up for the second telemeeting operator; instead, the operator receives information tone. A telemeeting operator can identify any of the telemeeting subscribers taking part. When a telemeeting group is being created, a time limit can be fixed for each connection to this telemeeting group except a telemeeting operator.

5 Administration
The operator can perform all administration functions on the NetManager by means of user-friendly applications or MML commands. Feature authorization No individual subscriber authorization is required for the feature. Subscriber access types The feature can be used with the following types of subscriber access: Type Subscriber Analog Main station Basic access PBX PBX with BA and/or PA PBX line PBX line with Direct Dialing In (DDI) PBX line, connected like a subscriber Coinbox Emergency call station MLHG line Basic attendant console MAC attendant console Subscriber administration For more information, please refer to OMN:EXCH-SU. 6 Requirements
Hardware The Telemeeting feature requires a conference unit (COU) for its implementation. The unit is installed in an LTG. When a telemeeting group is being created an announcement unit is required. There are two different types of modules for the conference unit: Conference unit, module B (COUB) Conference unit, module C (COUC)

The conference principle applied in the COUB conference unit is also implemented in the COUC conference unit. A conference signal is generated from the speech signal of the three loudest conference parties only any of these three does not hear his own signal, only the summation signal of the other two loudest parties. Data distribution services (e.g., video) cannot be implemented because of the nature of the conference principle. Up to 4 COUB conference units can be installed in an LTG (hardware types LTGB, LTGC, LTGF, LTGG). The module has 4 independent conference circuits connected together to form a conference unit. At least one conference circuit per conference is required. Each conference circuit has 8 assignable ports. Up to 8 conference connections can be linked together or held using this circuit. The COUC conference unit is installed in an LTGM/N. It has the following characteristics: Maximum number of conference parties 32 Free assignment of ports to conferences Echo suppression for 32 conference ports The echo suppression can be deactivated for individual ports for any future teleservices except voice services As a result of the free assignment of ports, the administration of conference calls is no longer performed for each conference. Instead, precisely the number of conference ports required for a conference call is provided. Unlike the COUB conference unit (in which all ports have to be reserved in succession for a conference), any ports in the COUC conference unit can be connected together for a conference call. For the feature telemeeting all the enhancements of the COUC except the echo suppression are not available. Maximally 7 users are be possible per telemeeting-group, i.e. it requires 7 conference ports.
