Stop D1 Etihad Stadium See the stadium, or attend a game in season. Explore further south down through the Melbourne Docklands. Stop 1 Spencer Street The Southern Cross station is an architectural marvel. Stop 5 Elizabeth Street SA Wander south along Elizabeth St to Flinders Street Station. The Yarra river is accessible through a tunnel under the station. Federation Square with its cafes and shops and Museum of the Moving Images is not far to the north. And Hosier Lane a famous street art site nearby. Stop 6 Swanston Street SA Plenty of shopping in Bourke Street Mall including department stores, David Jones and Myers. Stop 7 Russell Street SA Asian and other restaurants and two Theatres. Greater Union Cinemas. Stop Stop 9 Spring Street Visit Play Music and DVD, a small store but probably the best movie retailer in Melbourne See steps of the Victorian Parliament House. Walk through behind parliament house to Treasury Gardens and see Captain Cooks cottage 12 Melbourne Museum Visit Melbourne Museum See a film at the Imax Cinema Relax in Carlton Gardens (Go at night to see the possums running through the trees) Walk along Gertrude Street (where the tram tracks turn right) and along to enjoy the local architecture, visit antique dealers, check out clothing stores or stop at a pub or cafe.

you see a McDonalds on a corner and turn hard right Collingwood Leisure Centre is in the gardens ahead of you. Stop 25 Clifton Hill Interchange SA Walk along the Merri Creek Trail (walk up under the railway bridge to find the creek). The trail passes through several Melbourne suburbs. Stop 30 Clarke Street Hop off the tram for a great view of The City of Melbourne. Stop 27 Westgarth Street See a film at the Westgarth Cinema. Stop 31 Northcote Town Hall SA Walk north a enjoy interesting shops with attractive displays. Brown and Bunting is an excellent second hand book store. Stop 32 Mitchell Street SA See a band in the Northcote Social Club in the evening. Open Studio, 303 or Wesley Anne have live music at certain times of week as well. Stop 49 Murray Road Walk 10 mins or catch a bus down to Central Preston. A popular local market is on Wednesday - Saturday Hours Wednesday - 8.00am to 3.00pm Thursday - 8.00am to 6.00pm Friday - 8.00am to 8.00pm Saturday - 8.00am to 3.00pm Stop 60 La Trobe University Walk down to La Trobe University Campus. If it is a hot day enjoy the air conditions of the Library and browse through the books. Stop 61 Bundoora Park Explore a massive park of gum trees, a golf course, children's' farm, wildlife sanctuary, heritage village and Mt Cooper, one of the highest points in Melbourne. Stop 70 University Hill Pick up bargains on brands at University Hill, a large complex of clothing and household goods factory outlets

Stop 13 Brunswick Street SA Walk north up Brunswick Street, plenty of shops and places to have a drink or a meal. Go on a Sunday and see everyone out having brunch in street side cafes. There is a lot of street art off Gertrude Street after the Brunswick street. Stop 15 Smith Street SA Walk up Smith Street and find a bargain in several second hand stores. Lots of eateries and bars including 'The 86', named after the tram. Lots of live music at night. Stop 20 Keele Street Lots of clothing and other factory outlets in this area. Stop 21 Alexandra Parade If you are short on cash, shop at a sizeable Salvation Army Op Shop (charity second hand store) for a bargain. Stop 22 Smith Street Walk two blocks north to Edinburgh Gardens. Stop 24 Gold Street Check out the shops and cafes. Walk south along Gold Street to reach Darling Gardens or follow the north until
