i)

Candidates with 60% marks in B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects with equal weightage will also be
considered. However, they should clearly indicate their choice (Chemistry or Physics) in their Application forms.
[Applicable for Post No.7 (Chemistry) & Post No.8 (Physics) ].

ii)

Mathematics at HSC (10+2) level is essential for the Post Nos. 7, 8 & 9.

iii) Post No. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 & 8 are NOT identified suitable for persons with disability.
Persons with disability in the category of one leg affected (OL), one arm affected (OA), Hearing impaired (Partially deaf)
can apply for the Post No.4 and 9 [ Note : Physical deformity should not be less than 40 percentage. Hearing Impairment
means loss of 60 decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies.]

: `9300/- per month for the 1st year and `10500/- for the 2nd year.

vii) Persons working under the Central / State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous bodies should submit
NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE at the time of interview.

GENERAL CONDITIONS :
1. AGE LIMIT: 19 years Minimum and 24 Years Maximum as on 18/12/2012
Upper age limit prescribed above is relaxable as under :
a) upto a maximum of five years for Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe candidates.
b) upto a maximum of three years for OBC candidates.
c) upto five years for Physically Handicapped candidates and ten years for Physically Handicapped STs and eight years for
Physically Handicapped OBCs. (applicable only for Post No. 4 and 9)

2. RELAXATION IN UPPER AGE LIMIT : Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years shall be admissible to all persons who had ordinarily been
domiciled in Kashmir division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st day of January, 1980 to 31st day of
December, 1989 provided that the relaxation in the upper age limit for appearing at any examination shall be subject to the maximum number
of chances permissible under the relevant rules.
Certificate regarding proof of residence any person intending to avail of relaxation of age limit admissible under rule 3 shall submit a
certificate from:
(a) the Dist. Magistrate in the Kashmir division within those jurisdiction he had ordinarily resided; or
(b) any other authority designated in this behalf by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to the effect that he had ordinarily been
domiciled in the Kashmir division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st day of January, 1980 to 31st day
of December, 1989.
Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years shall be admissible to children/family members of those who died in the 1984 riots.

NOTE: ONLY DATE OF BIRTH INDICATED IN SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE OR EQUIVALENT CERTIFICATE WILL BE ACCEPTED.
NO SUBSEQUENT REQUEST FOR CHANGE SHALL BE GRANTED.

3. PHYSICAL STANDARDS : Minimum Height : 160 cms. Minimum weigh : 45.5 Kg (Relaxable if the candidate is otherwise medically fit)

4. WRITTEN EXAMINATION/SELECTION : Candidates should come prepared to stay in Mumbai for 2 to 3 days for the Written Test/Interview.
Written Examination of one-hour duration will be conducted and will comprise of objective (multiple) type questions. The syllabus for the said
examination will be based on subjects at Diploma/B.Sc. level as the case may be. Those candidates qualifying in the written Examination shall
be short-listed for interview to be held on the following day.
Final selection and ranking will be on the basis of performance of the candidate in interview and no weightage will be given for marks
scored in the written examination. The decision of this Research Centre in this regard is final.

5. SCOPE OF TRAINING : Selected candidates will be given training at Tarapur / Kalpakkam/ Mumbai & other places as decided by BARC in
various aspects of relevant disciplines/trades, as per prescribed syllabi of each disciplines/trades and for meeting stringent requirements of
BARC. The candidates will not have any choice/option for any particular training programme/training place.

6. GRADE AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING : Upon successful completion of training, the trainees will be considered for
absorption in the following grade at the time of appointment depending on their performance during the period of training and interview to be
held at the end of the training. .

7. BOND : Selected candidates will have to execute a bond to complete the training and serve BARC or any of the constituent Units of DAE, if
offered appointment after the training, for a period of 4 years after absorption. A trainee who fails to complete the training or serve the
Government for 4 years if offered appointment will be liable to pay to the Government a sum equivalent to entire aggregate amount of stipend
received by him during the period of training along with interest thereon.

8. NOTE :
i.
This Research Centre reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview in the ratio of 1 : 5, based on
higher percentage of marks in the screening test. The decision of the Research Centre will be final and binding.
ii.

The vacancies shown above are provisional and subject to variation.

iii.

The nature of duties to be performed by the above categories involves working in round the clock shift duties, in operational plants
and areas.

iv.

Period of experience as prescribed in the advertisement will be determined with reference to the last date of receipt of applications
(as applicable).

v.

SC/ST outstation candidates called for written examination/interview will be paid to and fro travelling allowance of second-class
Railway fare by the shortest route (subject to production of tickets) as per rules. However, Traveling Allowance is not admissible to
those SC/ST candidates who are already in Central/State Government services, Central/State Government Corporation, Public
Undertakings, Local Government Institutions and Panchayats and the concession availed from Railways, if any, for undertaking
journey for attending written examination/interview.

vi.

Candidates may ensure that they fill in the correct information. Candidates who furnish false information will be disqualified for
written exam/interview.

vii.

Posting of the selected candidates would be at the discretion of the Competent Authority as per the availability of vacancies. They
are liable to serve in any part of India, in any constituent unit of the Department of Atomic Energy.

viii.

COPIES OF CERTIFICATES : Candidates should submit along with their application, attested SINGLE COPY of the certificates in
support of :

a) Educational qualifications and technical qualifications (supported by appropriate mark sheets indicating the subjects offered at
the examinations).
b) Date of birth/Proof of age.
c) SC and ST certificate should be issued by authorised authority in the prescribed format and the caste/community should have
been included in the Presidential orders in relation to the concerned state. (as per the format given at Annexure-1).
d) OBC certificate should be issued by authorised authority in the prescribed format with non-creamy layer certificate and the
caste/community should have been included in the Central lists of Other Backward Caste. The crucial date for determining the
OBC non-creamy layer certificate will be the closing date of online application ( 18/12/2012 ). The OBC candidates should also
enclose self declaration of non-creamy layer status in the format as given in Annexure-2. OBC for the purpose of AGE
RELAXATION AND RESERVATION shall mean persons of OBC categories not belonging to the Creamy Layer as defined
in Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training OM No.36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08.09.93 and modified vide
Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training OM No.36033/3/2004-Estt.(Res) dated 09.03.2004. (as per the
format given at Annexure-3)
e) Disability Certificate from the appropriate authority regarding physical disability [as per the format given at Annexure-4
(applicable to persons with disability)]
f) Proof of the effect that they have been affected by 1984 riots.
g) Certificate regarding domiciled in Kashmir Division from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 (if claiming age relaxation for Kashmir
division).

If candidate wishes to apply for more than one post, separate application should be submitted for each post.

NOTE: Candidates are required to produce printout of online application along with the copies of
certificates mentioned at Point (viii) of Note 8 at the time of written exam/ interview.
9. IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT FOR PHYSICAL DISABILITY CERTIFICATE
i)

According to the persons with disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Rules, 1996 notified on
31/12/1996 by the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and (2) of Section 73 of the Persons with
Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 (1 of 1996)], a disability certificate shall be issued
by a Medical Board duly constituted by the Central or a State Government. The Central/State Government may constitute a Medical
Board consisting of at least three members, out of which, at least, one member shall be a Specialist from the relevant field.

ii)

The certificate would be valid for a period of 5 years for those whose disability is temporary. The Medical Board shall indicate the period
of validity of the certificate where there are chances of variation in the degree of disability. For those who acquired permanent disability,
the validity can be shown as permanent. On representation by the applicant, the Medical Board may review its decision having regard to
all the facts and circumstances of the case and pass such orders in the matter as it thinks fit.

iii)

Those SC/ST/OBC persons with disabilities selected on their own merit without relaxed standards along with other candidates, will be
considered against unreserved vacancies provided the post is identified for persons with disability of relevant category. (as applicable).

To participate in design/ procurement and inspection of chemical equipments; to participate in and supervise
erection/testing/ commissioning/ operation/ data logging/trouble shooting/ maintenance jobs in areas pertaining to chemical
process equipment/machinery/plants; To work round the clock shift.
Inspection/testing/calibration/operation and maintenance of instruments associated with process control and to work in the
field of computerised controls; oversee execution of process control instrument panels by use of P&I Diagrams.
Assembling/ testing/ calibration/ maintenance and service support of variety of Electronic Instruments/circuits ; PCBs and
miniature electronic components; design/development and operation of industrial electronic systems like PLC,PCB and

jobs like HT/LT panels, their inspection and maintenance.

Radiopharmaceutical programme; R&D on new radio pharmaceuticals; to assist in the processing of radiochemical from

chemical analysis by physical/volumetric/gravimetric/instrumental methods.
Assist in theoretical/experimental research work; operation of variety of equipment, preparation of samples; characterisation

to work in special fields like Nuclear/High pressure physics/Radiation protection in Nuclear Fuel Facilities/X-ray
diffraction/Dilatometer and associated R&D activities; data acquisition and instrumental analysis.
