Julian Rawel, Director of Executive Education Bradford University School of Management My cohort included representatives from many nationalities and from varied fields including banks, airlines, the diplomatic core and government companies which was quite impressive. I was attracted to the Dubai programme by the broad spectrum of management topics taught; plus the 24-month tenure. Gaining the opportunity to understand my business personality, and style of learning, execution and decision-making was quite enlightening. Francesca Rajeswaran-Krishnan Director - ING Bank

The Bradford Executive MBA in Dubai benefits from particularly strong links with local business, having grown out of an MBA programme developed specifically for Emirates Airline. Lorraine Lucas, Postgraduate Careers and Alumni Manager Kamala Huseynova Emirates Holidays Tours Sales Manager, Kamala Huseynova, who originally hails from Azerbaijan, achieved a family ambition when she joined the Bradford University MBA programme. I wanted to do the MBA in order to understand and view a bigger picture and it was also a dream of my father and grandfather, said Kamala, who is responsible for business development and sales of Emirates Holidays for southern Europe and CIS markets. This MBA has changed me a lot and I am really grateful to Bradford University. My understanding of business has grown to a higher level and aspects that I was previously uncertain about have now become clear to me. I have also expanded my networking through our cohort, Kamala continued. Bradford University knows and understands the UAE it has been in Dubai for almost 15 years and ensures we apply our academic knowledge via our work assignments to the Dubai market. I recommend the programme to others on a daily basis in fact, my husband started the programme this year. Salman Abdullah Salman Abdullah works for Dubai Aluminium and is currently on a secondment to the organizations joint venture Emirates Aluminium in Abu Dhabi where he is Chief Operations Officer (COO). Back in 2005 I was promoted to a general manager position and started to attend management meetings. However, as a manager with an engineering background, I found myself lost, firstly, in the vocabulary used by the chief financial officer and the chief executive officer, and then more importantly in the logic behind some of the decisions. There were many good MBA programmes on offer in Dubai but they had not been thought out from the students point of view. Due to the modularity of Bradfords programme and dedicated 3 day approach for each module, I was able to continue the MBA even when I was promoted to the COO position and had to travel a 200km round trip to work. Attending evening classes just would not have been sustainable for me. I can now more clearly translate the strategic board room decisions to shop floor practices and link the action at the shop floor all the way back to the business performance figures.
