Faithful Citizenship Quote

"The inviolability of the person, which is a reflection of the absolute inviolability of God, finds its primary and fundamental expression in the inviolability of human life. Above all, the common outcry, which is justly made on behalf of human rights -- for example, the right to health, to home, to work, to family, to culture -- is false and illusory if the right to life, the most basic and fundamental right and the condition of all other personal rights, is not defended with maximum determination . . . " (John Paul II, The Vocation and the Mission of the Lay Faithful in the Church and in the World, n.38)

CD of the Month Club

If we are to be followers of Jesus Christ, we need to be continually learning about the faith and growing spiritually. Catechesis, the process of Faith education, doesnt stop at Confirmation or High School graduation, but is a life-long process. To aid in this process, the parish is making available the Lighthouse Catholic Media CD of the Month Club. Every month, a new talk or audiobook excerpt is released. Not only is the current months CD available - The Best Way to Live by Matthew Kelly but a number of previous months CDs can be picked up as well. Each CD averages about 1 hour long, and is filled with great Catholic teaching, uplifting stories, and excellent speakers. Theyre great in the car, working around home, or anywhere you have a CD player! Theyre also excellent resources whenever someone has a question about a teaching of the Catholic Faith. If you or someone you know wants to learn more about the Catholic Faith, or if questions come up, pick one up today!

Respect Life Sunday

On this Sunday dedicated by the US Bishops to recall and pray for the respect of all human life, may we pray that our culture may embrace life from conception to natural death, and work with Gods grace to end the Culture of Death both in our country and throughout the world!

To reserve the Parish Basement or other St. Marys facility, please contact Fr. Cory or Lana at the Parish Office.

Mass Intentions
As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information!

Stewardship and Development

Stewardship Thought Todays readings from the Book of Genesis and St. Marks Gospel are linked by the common theme of sacred marriage. In the Gospel, Jesus, referring to Genesis, proclaims, God made them male and female. For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. It is obvious from these Scripture passages that Gods gift of marriage is a blessing between one man and one woman. This is the Churchs teaching on Christian marriage, which faithful stewards embrace. They understand how the Sacrament of Matrimony strengthens husband and wife to love and serve the Lord and one another. Development Thought The Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana is a separate organization from the diocese. It was founded in 1999 to promote, expand and strengthen the Roman Catholic Church in the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings. The Catholic Foundation can help us with charitable estate planning, show us giving vehicles that offer us tax and income advantages, and offer ways to make gifts to our Church out of assets we otherwise wouldnt have thought possible. Thank you, Lord, for our many blessings!

Mardi Gras aka Spring Fling Quilt Donations Needed

Once again, St. Mary's Quilters are asking for donations to help with the expenses of the quilt that is raffled off during the Mardi Gras/Spring Fling. Our cost this time is around the $300 mark. The donation can will be on the table in the vestibule of the church. We would appreciate any donation you could make and we thank you in advance for your generosity.

Opening Masses for Year of Faith

With Apostolic Letter of Pope Benedict XVI on October 11, 2011, Porta Fidei, the Pope declared a Year of Faith beginning on October 11th and concluding with the Feast of Christ the King on November 24, 2013. The Year of Faith coincides with the anniversaries of two great events that have marked the life of the Church in our time: the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and the 20th anniversary of the promulgation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The Diocese of Great Falls-Billings will participate in the opening of the Year of Faith with the celebration of Mass in each of the five Vicariates of the Diocese. Bishop Warfel will celebrate Mass on October 11 @ 7:00 PM at St. Patricks Co-cathedral in Billings; October 12 @ 7:00 PM at St. Anns Cathedral in Great Falls; October 13 @ 6:00 PM at Sacred Heart Parish in Miles City; October 14 @ 9:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Parish in Wolf Point; October 15 @ 7:00 PM at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish in Havre. The faithful in all the parishes within each Vicariate are invited to participate in these Masses. I want to encourage everyone to join in a pilgrimage to Havre on Monday, October 15th, to start this great Year of Faith! This upcoming Year will be a powerful opportunity to grow closer to Christ through our Faith. Watch for more info coming soon! - Fr. Cory

Oct 3, 2012 Hello everybody!!! Do any of you remember putting JMJ at the top of your school papers? I walked into Fr.s office and on his white board up in the corner was JMJ. It brought back memories of JMJ, Jesus, Mary and Joseph. I am going to try to do that again..just another reminder of living for Jesus and the Holy Family. *************************************************

You must be the change you wish to see in the world!!

EVERYONE is INVITED to spend an evening with GABE MURFITT
Gabe Murfitt will be coming to visit our parish on Wed. Oct 10. He will be here for the 3:30-4:30 class as well as the 7:00 to 8:00 class.
