UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
Nouns that can not be represented in the singular form or the plural form, such as water, air, coffee, tea are some examples of nouns that can only be represented in the singular form. Nouns that can not be represented by a number are called uncountable nouns. It is not possible to say I need 4 air, or 6 sugar.
Uncountable nouns are materials, concepts, information, etc. which are not individual objects and can not be counted. information, water, wood, cheese, etc. Uncountable nouns are always singular: There is some water in that pitcher. That is the equipment we use for the project.
To express the quantity of uncountable nouns we can use containers (bottles, bags, cups, spoons, etc.) or we can also use units of measurements (kilograms, pounds, etc.). ex. I need a bottle of olive oil. I would like two spoons of rice.
