Commanders Comments

Well another summer has come and soon to end. School is starting up and with that in mind we will once again be in the schools with our VOD, PATS PEN and TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARDS PROGRAM. If you have any students that qualify for one of the many scholarship programs we offer please contact me and I will get you the information needed to get the applications filled out. Remember the Chicken Fry is once again coming up. If you have some free time on your hands please let us know so we can get you signed up to help. Volunteers are starting to get few and far between because some of the members just cannot physically help anymore. If we want these events to continue we are going to need the help of our members. The Buddy Poppy drive in May brought in over $5000.00 to help needy vets in our area. Once again, if you need help let me know. The same goes for the hospital equipment. We have everything from toilet articles to wheelchairs so if youre in need we will do our best to get it, and the help you need, out to you. We will be hosting the district meeting in February, so if you want to see what is going on in the district come on down to the post. We will serve bar menu items starting at noon and ending at 1pm. The meeting will start at 1:30 pm and the date is February 17th. We have a lot of things coming up so keep an eye on the calendar of events so you dont miss out on the fun. We are always looking for new ideas. When you see the cards for your ideas, fill them out and return them because we do go over them at the house committee meeting. We look for new ideas to bring in more business to the post. The Ramblin On is on the web page now and those of you that have internet can go to the web to read it. We would like, in the future, to be able to have everyone get the Ramblin On off the web to cut the postage cost. As we all know not everyone has the internet or a computer so there will always be some mailings going out but thats ok. As always, if you are interested in helping out at any of the post functions please contact me, Wally, Ken or Wayne to find out times and days we need help. Thanks for your service and your time. Your commander, Jeffery Cummings. Phone number is 920-287-8711, call if you need anything.

LAYMAN'S TEN COMMANDMENTS

Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout the journey. So why is a Car's WINDSHIELD so large & the Rear View Mirror so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on. Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes a few minutes to burn, but it takes years to write. All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either. Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a Base of Gold! Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end! When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities. A blind person asked Saint Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!" When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.
