Were Going To Be 50!!

September 13-16
To All TJ 1962 Classmates!
I know it doesnt seem possible but our reunion time will be here before we know it! There is a great deal of information for you to peruse and hopefully choose to spend this weekend with us as we celebrate our 50th reunion! We will be having most of the events with the Class of 62 from South. However on September 13, Jim and John Shikles have graciously taken on a separate TJ outing to be held in Summit County on Thursday, before the rest of the Reunion begins on Friday. We hope many of you can participate in this special day as well as as the other events that we have planned. There is a sense of urgency in terms of making reservations for the Saturday night dinner. We are limited in numbers by the space at the hotel, so we urge you to make your reservation for this event especially, as soon as possible. When the count is reached for the maximum number allowed in the room, we cannot accommodate any others. We dont want you to be left out of the Saturday night dinner. So please make your reservations as quickly as you can by sending in the form and your check to Cathy. If you are not sure on some of the other activities, reservations can be made at a later date for them as there is no limit on numbers for anything except the Saturday night dinner. Our Golf Outing will be at Wellshire Golf Club on Friday, September 14, beginning at 9 a.m. Cost is $54 including cart for 18 holes. There is a limit of 40 participants. If you have questions you can contact Dave Crist at [email protected] or 303-740-9530. Enclosed is a reservation form that you must use. The brochure says you can go to Class Report and register through PayPal. However, we had too many options for it to work with PayPal and they turned us down after the brochure was printed. Included in this packet is a list of classmates that we have been unable to locate. If you have any information about them, please let us know. Also there is a list of our deceased classmates. If you know of anyone else who should be on that list or have any information about their death, please let us know as we will have a memorial for them at the reunion.

Please log on to www.classreport.org/usa/co/denver/tjhs/1962/ and register your information there. We will be using this site to update you about the reunion as well as e-mail.

See You In September!!

Bicycles, Beauty And Beer

We spent some time this summer trying to think outside the box for ways to add to the 50th reunion and maybe help entice a few more people to make the trek to the gathering. Also, we were looking for ways to create other active encounters that would add depth to the communication that was laying dormant for the past 50 years. We all have wonderful memories so we wanted to enhance the fun and excitement of finally coming together. And for many of us that have not kept up over the past decades, this could easily be the last hurrah. After all, there are around 18 of our classmates who cant show up so the least we can do is celebrate their passing and give each other a hug. After visiting with a handful of our classmates we decided to help pull together a prereunion gathering for Thursday-Friday, based around biking( hiking or sauntering is acceptable) in the mountains in the Dillon/ Summit Co. area. This happening or event is meant to be for all old grads with an interest in spending quality, active time together in small group endeavors. It is in no way meant to be exclusive or hardcore. Biking is just meant to be the vehicle for fun and connecting. So if you only bike when you visit your grandkids or haven't dug out that old three-speed since you got your 57 Chevy back in 62, can you think of a better time to get back in the saddle? Start off your 68th year setting yourself a New Years Resolution (remember exercise helps with your balance, your lungs, and your brain) for getting it together. Above all, this is not hardcore the biggest challenge or risk is just to show up. The main reason we chose the mountains is to add to the enjoyment with the many bike trails throughout the county. For those traveling from far away it would make for more of a vacation and for the Denver crowd it would make for a great change of scenery. After all, Summit Co. is only an hours drive and many of you probably have condos, or friends or family who would love to share. If you are in need we can lean on some of our friends to help out. The mountains in September are beautiful and the summer tourists have vacated. The plans for exactly where we bike and what we do is still very fluid, but it is our hope to finalize the plans once we see the amount of interest and the desires of those involved. There should be a ride for everyone interested no matter what your ability and bike rentals are available throughout the county. We've spent enjoyable time trying to develop this idea so now it is time for the class of '62 to give some input. So let us know what you're thinking. If you think we've lost some of our marbles then speak up and let it rip. On the other hand, if you see some hope in this endeavor, can suggest some additional thoughts or activities, or just want to say hi after 50 years, please drop us an e-mail. We'll welcome any communication and are truly looking forward to the 50th Reunion.

See You In September!
