Lock system
Key number plate Your key number is shown on the plate. If you should lose your keys or if you need additional keys, duplicates can be made using the key number.
Engine immobiliser system The engine immobiliser system is a theft prevention system. The engine will start only when the electronic code in the chip inside the key corresponds to the registered ID code for the vehicle.
Wireless remote control (on some models) The wireless remote control system can lock or unlock all the side doors and back door from a distance within approximately 1m of the vehicle. To lock and unlock all the side doors and back door, push the switches of the key slowly and securely.
Locking operation
International Security Register Your new Yaris has a unique number etched into all window glass.
Unlocking operation
Seat belts To fasten your belt, pull it out of the retractor and insert the tab into the buckle. You will hear a click when the tab locks into the buckle. The seat belt length automatically adjusts to your size and the seat position.
Storage
Fold-down rear seat 1. Push the head restraints to the lowest position. 2. Unlock and fold down the seatback while pulling the straps.

Fuel tank cap 1. Open the fuel filler door. 2. To remove the fuel tank cap, insert the key and turn it counterclockwise by 45 degrees (to point 1), and then turn it clockwise by 45 degrees (to point 2). Remove the key. 3. Turn the cap slowly counterclockwise, then pause slightly before removing it. After removing the cap, hang it on the cap hanger.
After refueling, turn the fuel tank cap clockwise, without inserting the key. Fuel type: Gasoline engine: unleaded gasoline with a RON of 95 or higher.
Diesel engine: Diesel fuel with a cetane number of 47 or higher.
Tank capacity: 35 l.

Tilt steering wheel To change the steering wheel angle, hold the steering wheel, push down the lock release lever, tilt the steering wheel to the desired angle and return the lever to its original position.

To turn on the windscreen wipers, move the lever to the desired setting. The key must be in the ON position. 1. Intermittent 2. Slow 3. Fast For a single sweep, push the lever up and release it. To spray washer fluid, pull the lever toward you.
To turn on the rear window wiper, twist the lever knob upward (Position 1) The key must be in the ON position To spray washer fluid on the rear window twist the knob upward or downward as far as it will go (position 2 or 3). The knob automatically returns from these positions after you release it.

Power windows
(on some models)
Operating the windows: Use the switch on the drivers and front passengers door. The window moves as long as you hold the switch. To open: Press down the switch. To close: Pull up the switch. The ignition key must be in the ON position.
Gear change
Manual transmission The shift pattern is as shown.
R: Reverse N: Neutral and engine starting E: Easy mode (automatic operation) M: Manual mode +: Upshifting : Downshifting

Tyre change
Required tools and spare tyre 1. Spare wheel cover 2. Jack 3. Tool tray 4. Spare tyre
Removing the spare tyre 1. Remove the spare tyre cover and tool tray. 2. Loosen the bolt and remove it. Then take the spare tyre out of the vehicle.
Positioning the jack Position the jack at the correct jack point as shown.
Raising your vehicle After making sure that no one is in the vehicle, raise it high enough so that the spare tyre can be installed.
