    SYNOPSIS

    Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation popularly


    known as RIICO is a premier agency of Government of Rajasthan that has played an important role in the industrial development of Rajasthan & has emerged as a multi faceted, dynamic & vibrant institution. RIICO is mainly engaged in site selection & acquisition of land, financial assistance to medium & large scale projects, equity participation in large projects on merit, technical consultancy for project identification & technical tie up, escort services, facilitation of government clearances, merchant banking & financial tie ups & extending incentives & concessions as per the policy of the State Government. The corporation was incorporated on 28th march, 1969 as RIMDC & got its present name on 1 January, 1980. It has 26 offices in Rajasthan & one on Delhi & has staff strength of 1054. RIICO has so far developed 321 industries areas by acquiring about 59084 acres of land. More than 26633 industries are in production within the industrial areas developed by RIICO in Rajasthan. It keeps pace with the industrialization process by providing complete & innovative support services to industries i.e. industrial infrastructure, finance, consultancy & other industry related assistance.

    Statement of the Problem:


    1.) To carry out an in depth analysis of the Appraisal & NPA management activity as carried out by RIICO. 2.) Studying Appraisal & NPA management with reference to certain projects considered in order to get complete practical interface.

    Study Objective:
    1) To know about the various activities performed by RIICO and to understand the methods of carrying them out.

    2) To study the project financing activity as carried by RIICO. 3) Studying project financing with reference to certain projects considered, in order to get a complete practical interface. 4) To study the trends of NPA

    Research Methodology:
    The research design is the conceptual structure within which research is conducted; it constitutes the blueprint for the collection, measurement and analysis of data. This is a DESCRIPTIVE RESEARCH done in order to achieve the research objectives. CASE STUDY method is used to carry out the research. The data used in this research is SECONDARY DATA which includes: Annual reports of RIICO Case studies

    Limitations:
    1. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATIONAs per RIICOs policy, they were not allowed to share critical information of their clients with non-authorized people. As I was a management trainee I was not given the full access to the data. The data which could be accessible that also need to be amended and cant be used directly.

    2. Being in a government department, the trainees are not directly involved. 3. GEOGRAPHICAL CONSTRAINTSRIICOs operations are spread all over Rajasthan. It has 26 regional offices from where it functions its activities. It was not possible therefore, to access the data relating to the operations of other branches.
