Overview
Parker Abed is an 8-year-old National Champion kart racer competing on a national level in some of the most competitive and respected karting series in the United States, including the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup Series and WKA Midwest Sprint Series. Parker Abed is becoming a well-known commodity on the national sprint karting scene. Like many other young drivers, Parker started racing karts not long after he learned to walk. But unlike many of these other drivers, Parker has been setting records and winning races throughout the Midwest since his first foray onto the racetrack. Parkers 2012 schedule includes over 40 regional and national race events. Regional events, e.g., the Midwest Sprint Series, average an estimated 200 to 300 patrons at each race, while a series like the WKA Manufacturers Cup will see well over 1,000 people at each of their six national races. Parker wheeling his sponsored kart at the front of the pack creates a unique marketing opportunity for your company, but when you consider internet and printed media coverage, personal appearances, and your logo on team apparel and Parkers 24- and 14-foot transporters, your company reaches an astounding amount of consumers compared to the investment.

Where does your company fit in? As you will see on the following pages, our fan base presents an ideal demographic for targeted marking of your products. This creates an opportunity for you to reach a broad customer base with one effective plan. The most effective way to promote your product in motorsports is to sponsor a successful team with a captivating driver. Parkers success and ability behind the wheel, attractive appearance and inviting, friendly personality make him a prime centerpiece of a successful motorsports marketing endeavor.

History of Kart Racing

Go-kart racing started in Southern California in 1956. The original racing go-karts were about as simple as imaginable, consisting only of vital parts like a metal frame, four wheels, brakes, seat, basic steering components and a lawnmower engine. Karting has spread rapidly since its debut, both in the U.S. and abroad. Thousands of children and adults participate in kart racing each year. For decades karting has been considered the purest form of motorsport. Todays karting is a sophisticated, yet affordable form of motorsport. Tracks range from 0.5 to over one mile in length and generally consist of 10 to 16 varying corners. Most tracks offer elevation change, high- and low-speed corners, heavy braking areas and several passing opportunities. Most of todays NASCAR, IndyCar and Formula One drivers began their racing careers in karting, including Formula One World Champions Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso and recent Daytona 500 winners Trevor Bayne and Jamie McMurray, who still competes in the WKA Manufacturers Cup Series today.

New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Ind., one of the most popular karting facilities in the country.
