Summary

Tommy Sullivan is back in town after the terrible incident

that he caused 4 years ago. You might think, oh who
will remember, its was 4 YEARS AGO…but everyone
remembers about Tommy Sullivan. EVERYONE
remembers what he did and EVERYONE hates him.
Jenny Greenly is the first person to discover that he is
back in Manhattan and of course she remembers
EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. Tommy is being so
nice to her but she is ignoring him because just
standing NEXT to him will make her look like a SPAZZ
and people won’t like her either. Later on in the book,
she finds out what Tommy is really like and things start
to change.
Extra Summary
Katie Ellison is not a liar. But she can’t exactly tell the
truth, either – not when she’s juggling two boyfriends,
secretly hating the high school football team and trying
to have the best summer ever. At least Katie has it all
under control (sort of). Until Tommy Sullivan comes
back to town – a gorgeous and irresistible reminder of
a long-ago secret, who could ruin all her plans.
Tom Sullivan is NOT a popular guy. Everyone hates
him for what he did that night four years ago. Even
being seen with him could ruin Katie’s social life. So
falling in love with him is not an option. Is it?

Reading Strategies-
Context Clues
I use context clues because sometimes I
don’t understand words and I can’t be
bothered to look in the dictionary.
Context clues are helpful and very easy.
All you have to do is look at the words
surrounding the “mystery” word and try to
guess what the “mystery” word means. It
is better than stopping in the middle of a
chapter to check the dictionary.
Reading Strategies-
Visualizing
It’s good to visualize because when you
picture things in your head and imagine,
you understand the story more. If you
don’t picture ANYTHING in your head,
then it means that either the book you
are reading is too hard or you are not
enjoying it.
Why I Chose This Book
I chose because it is written by my
FAVORITE author and I could really feel
how the characters felt. I could connect
with the characters and I could
understand them. The story develops
really well and it has a good beginning,
middle, and end. The author uses
descriptive words and makes every
sentence fit the story.
Recommendation
I think this is a book that is appropriate for girls
over the age of 10 because it has a lot of girl
“language” and it has some inappropriate
scenes that are not “suitable” for “young”
people. If you are a girl over 10 years old and
you read “moderately” well, then this book will
not be a big challenge for you. I rate it a 2-3
because the words are NOT challenging and if
you are someone who does not like to read
much (like ME), then this is a good book choice
for you. It is a quick read.
Other Books….

If you enjoy that book then you can try:

 Teen Idol
 Avalon High
 Princess Diaries
 Airhead, Being Nicky
 How To Be Popular
And there are LOTS more awesome books that
she wrote that you might want to try…
