and
WORK AREA
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as presence of flammable liquids, gases or
dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool. Distraction can cause you to lose
control.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs
with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an
increase risk of electric shock if your body is grounded.
Dont expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric
shock.
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the tools or pull the plug from an outlet. Keep cord away
from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock.
When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord for outside use only. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected
supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings
PERSONAL SAFETY
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use tool
while tired or under influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power
tools result in serious personal injury.
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask,
non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source
and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or
energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
Remove adjusting keys or switches before turning the tool on. A wrench or a key that is left attached to a
rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose closing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery, or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
File: 4812050295_ENG_NO
Page 3 / 32
INSTRUCTIONS ER 5-7
Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the
job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk
of starting the power tool accidentally.
Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool
or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other
condition that may affect the power tools operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use.
Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to
bind and are easier to control.
Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into
account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different
from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings
SERVICE
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

INSTRUCTIONS ER 5-7
GENERAL
The ER vibrators are electric motors dust-proof and designed with eccentrics located at the ends of the shaft.
According to the types they operate either directly from the network or through a frequency converter.
Standard voltages are 230V/400V - 3 phases - 50Hz and 42V - 3 phases - 200Hz from a frequency converter.
The electronic and electric devices may contain potentially hazardous substances. Dont throw
them in nature but evacuate them according to the local regulations and the legislation in force
in the country of use.
According to the European directives 2002/95/CE and 2002/96/CE.
The original manual is in English.
DESIGN
The ER vibrators consist of a 3 phase induction motor equipped with adjustable eccentrics located at each end of
the shaft, inside easily removable end covers.
The insulation class of the motor winding as well as the characteristics of the grease in the bearings allows the
vibrator to operate in a very reliable way.
The casings are made either of cast graphite spheroid iron or cast aluminium, according to the type.
The bracket mounting kit allows the vibrator to be moved quickly from one mounted position to another with ease.
The end covers are made of either pressed steel sheet or cast aluminium.
High capacity bearings have been selected to withstand the high centrifugal force generated.
The electric motors use high quality magnetic materials and are specially designed to withstand vibration.
They are highly efficient which involves the biggest centrifugal force in the smallest volume.
Some external vibrators are equipped with thermistors.

INSTALLATION
The electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician !
Local installation regulations must be followed !
Fig. 1
LOCATING AND FIXING
The vibrator motor can be mounted in any position.
Before mounting the vibrator on the structure it is recommended that the centrifugal force be adjusted (see
Adjustment of centrifugal force).
The structure must be of sufficient stiffness in order to get the best vibration effect. If the structure is not stiff
enough it will be necessary to reinforce it. The reinforcement can be obtained by welding a heavy plate on
the structure. The plate is used to mount the vibrator with bolts or bracket.
The mounting surface must be flat, clean and unpainted, to avoid
troubles in the transmission of the vibration and damage to the
vibrator (fig. 2).
Fig. 2

Page 8 / 32
INSTRUCTIONS ER 5-7
TRANSPORT, HANDLING AND STORAGE
Transport of the packed vibrator should be carried out on a wooden
pallet using a suitable pallet lifter (fig3) or by means of the special
lifting eyes fixed to the main body of the vibrator (fig 4).
While opening the packing it is very important to check together with
the despatch note that the contents correspond to what is written in
the despatch note and to what was ordered. It is also important to
check that the vibrator motor has not suffered any damage due to
carelessness of the forwarder, if damage has occurred, both
and the forwarder should be notified immediately.
Fig. 3
If the vibrator motor is stored for a long period, the room in which it is
placed must be covered and have an ambient temperature between
5 and 50C and relative humidity not more than 60%.
Fig. 4
BOLT MOUNTING
Bolts used in the fixing must be 8.8 class (high resistance steel according to ISO) and screwed directly in the
structure, or in the mounting plate welded on the structure. The bolts have to be tightened with a torque wrench.
The tightening has to be checked after 30 minutes and then every 100h (see Maintenance for locking torque
values).
If mounting with bolts and nuts is used, the nuts must be of self-locking type.

CONTROL OF VIBRATOR CONDITIONS
Before installing, it is important to verify that the vibrator is in good
condition, especially if it has been stored for a long period. The
following checks could save problems at a later date.
1. Check that the shaft turns free, without chatters and that it
has axial clearance (fig. 5).
Fig. 5
2. Check the motor insulation toward ground, by using a rigidity
proof at 2.2 kV tension for 5 seconds (fig. 6). In case any
abnormal is found, please contact us immediately.
Fig. 6
ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
The vibrators must be connected to the supply with a cable type
HO7RN-F (network supply), with one yellow-green employed
exclusively for the grounding (fig. 7) or type AO7RN-F (frequency
converter supply for the model ER207B/ER407B/ER507B).
The cable has to be sized according the current specified on the
vibrator data plate. It must be tension and friction free, especially in
the vibration area close to the vibrator.
NOTE: The ER407B 42V-3-200Hz has a EC plug already connected
to a cable A07RNF 3G1,5mm of 0,60m.
Check that the gland is properly locked in the terminal box as well as
the cable in the gland, if they are not, the vibrator is not water and
dust-proof.
Fig. 7
File: 4812050295_ENG_NO
Page 10 / 32
INSTRUCTIONS ER 5-7
The grounding lead must be fixed through tropicalized screw (fig.
10).
Fit the cover of the terminal box along with the gasket paying
attention not to damage it.
At the end of this operation tighten the cable grip to prevent entry of
water or dust.
ELECTRICAL PROTECTION
For precast industry, it is essential to use motor protectors to avoid damage to the vibrator in case of overload.
The motor protector must be of thermal and magnetic type. Its current is adjusted at the current vibrator value.
Suitable motor protectors are KLCKNER-MLLER type PKZM1

Unscrew the 8 bolts and remove the two end covers from each end of the vibrator. Unscrew the bolts and remove
the spacer washers from each end of the rotor. The different possible eccentric mass positions can be seen on the
diagrams below, they can also be found on the inside covers of the eccentric masses.
The vibrators are factory adjusted to a temporary setting at position 4.
In order to modify the eccentric mass settings, remove the number of sections, corresponding to the setting desired,
from the axis and replace them at 180 on the shaft .
Tighten the locking bolts not forgetting the spacer washer.
The same adjustment must be carried out systematically at each end of the rotor.

TESTING
After the vibrator has been mounted, it has to be tested before normal operation.
First of all, check that the vibrator is properly connected for the relevant voltage.
Use an ammeter to check that the current does not exceed the value specified on the vibrator data plate. If the
current exceeds the specified value stop temporarily the test to find out the reason for the overloading (see
instructions below).
OVERLOAD
1. If the vibrator has been subjected to extreme cold before being started, the current during the first 5-6
minutes may exceed the permissible value. This is a normal situation. The higher value is caused by the
stiffness of the grease due to the low temperature.
The current decrease is proportional to the vibrators temperature decrease. In some situations the reduction of the
centrifugal force is unavoidable in order to warm the grease easily to reach the operating temperature. This process
avoids the motor protection continuously interrupting the power supply and also the risk of damage due to excess
current.
When the current reaches an acceptable and steady value, the centrifugal force must be set at the previous value.
2. If several vibrators are working on the same structure, interactions between vibrators themselves may
occur in such a way that the rated current is exceeded not only during start-up but also during operation.
If the overload becomes so high that the motor protector interrupts the supply, the fault has to be found and
corrected (see Procedure in the event of excessive load).
PROCEDURE IN THE EVENT OF EXCESSIVE LOAD
In case of permanent excessive load, the following matters have to be investigated :
1) Check that the vibrator has not worked loose.
2) Check that the vibrator mounting surface satisfies the requirements specified in " INSTALLATION".
3) Check that the centrifugal force is not adjusted at a too high value.
4) Check that the vibrator is properly sized (not too small.).

the ranges: eccentrics arrangement, bearings...
However it is very easy from the exploded views to find the right process.
ASSEMBLY:
Before assembly make sure that O-rings (17) and seals (19) are not damaged.
After washing the bearings with WHITE SPIRIT, pack them with the specified quantity of grease.
The grease as well as the tightening torques of the end covers bolts are specified in Maintenance.
1) Fit the bearings in the bearing brackets using a press or hit gently on the bearings with a wooden or leaden
mallet.
2) Then proceed as for dismantling but in the reverse order. When inserting the rotor into the stator, take care
not to damage the windings. Adjust the eccentrics.
The vibrators are designed for continuous operation. In some applications it is essential to change the direction of
the rotation i.e. conveyors, feeders, etc. to get the force in only one direction. This can be achieved by crossing two
wire phases of the supply cable.
ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS
COUPLINGS
Only vibrators designed with dual-voltage windings are reconnectable.
To obtain the correct voltage, reconnect the links as shown in fig. Here below.
The terminal board with links is located in the terminal box.
Tighten the terminal board nuts firmly after reconnection.
Make sure that the rubber gasket between the terminal box and its cover makes a good seal.

WIRING
Connect the thermistors of the vibrator (2 terminals in the terminal box ) to the input P1 and P2 of the
thermal cut out.
Connect the electrical supply to A1 - A2.
OPERATING
When the vibrators temperature exceeds the thermistors temperature limit, the thermal cut-out light is on and
both relays are actuated.
The relays remain actuated as long as the reset switch is not pressed or a closed contact is applied on terminals 1
and 2.
The contacts 11-12-14 and 21-22-24 can be integrated in a process control in order to cut the electrical supply of
the vibrator when the temperature limit is reached.
