Pro Tools Software

The Complete Production Toolkit option for


Pro Tools software provides increased voice
and track counts, and surround mixing, editing,
and automation capabilities that are equal to
Pro Tools HD software. Additionally, Pro Tools
with Complete Production Toolkit facilitates
session interchange between Pro Tools and
Pro Tools HD systems.

Your software purchase is automatically registered when you activate your iLok license.
Registered users are eligible to receive software

iLok Authorization
Complete Production Toolkit for Pro Tools is
authorized using an iLok USB Smart Key (iLok).

To use Complete Production Toolkit, you need:


An iLok USB Smart Key (an iLok.com account
is also required for managing iLok licenses)

and

An Avid-qualified Pro Tools system

Avid can only assure compatibility and provide


support for hardware and software it has tested
and approved.

Authorizing Downloaded
Software
If you downloaded software from the Avid Store
(http://shop.avid.com), you can authorize it by
downloading licenses from iLok.com to an iLok.

Authorizing Boxed Versions of


Software
If you purchased a boxed version of Complete
Production Toolkit, it comes with an Activation
Code (on the included Activation Card).
To authorize Complete Production Toolkit using an
Activation Code:
1 If you do not have an iLok.com account, visit
www.iLok.com and sign up for an account.

Transfer the license for your toolkit option and


plug-ins to your iLok.com account by doing the
following:

Visit www.avid.com/activation.
and
Input your Activation Code (listed on your
Activation Card) and then your iLok.com
User ID. Your iLok.com User ID is the name
you create for your iLok.com account.
3 Transfer the licenses from your iLok.com account to your iLok USB Smart Key by doing the
following:

Insert the iLok into an available USB port


on your computer.
Go to www.iLok.com and log in.
Follow the on-screen instructions for transferring your licences to your iLok.

Launch Pro Tools.

5 If you have any installed unauthorized plug-ins


or software options, you are prompted to authorize them. Follow the on-screen instructions to
complete the authorization process.

A Complete Production Toolkit authorization
enables the following features in Pro Tools:
Surround mixing, editing, and automation up
to 7.1 (depending on the output capabilities of
your audio interface)
Use the Avid Down Mixer plug-in for monitoring surround sessions in stereo with audio interfaces that have fewer than six outputs.

Up to a total of 256 voiced audio tracks (up to


768 voiceable audio tracks)
Pro Tools with Complete Production Toolkit
displays up to 768 tracks, with a simultaneous voice limit of 256 tracks. Tracks in excess
of the 256-voice limit are made inactive.

Playback of up to or a combination of playing back and recording up to 256 mono


tracks or 128 stereo tracks (256 available
voices) at 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz
Playback of up to or a combination of playing back and recording up to 128 mono
tracks or 64 stereo tracks (128 available
voices) at 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz
Playback of up to or a combination of playing back and recording up to 64 mono
