2. Now you will analyze your strengths and weaknesses based on your scores
for each category, and then set specific goals for improvement.
A. Strengths:

Choose one of the categories in which you scored the

highest and explain at least three reasons why your score is high in
this category. Do not simply repeat the wording from the rubric. Be
specific!

Since the beginning of the year, my technique has gotten better.

1. I play in the center of the strings, between the fingerboard and
the bridge.
2. My shifting has improved as I have become more comfortable
doing so.
3. I have also been more expressive when I play.
B. Areas in need of Improvement:

Based on your scores in each

category, now identify two areas in which you need to improve.
Explain three reasons why you received a low score. Do not simply
repeat the wording from the rubric. Be specific!

Although my rhythm and pitch accuracy has improved some, I can still
get better.
1. Accidentals sometimes trip me up, so I could work on them.
2. Shifting is a challenge that I can still get better at doing.
3. New rhythms are sometimes tricky and I can improve on them.
Sight reading is still a difficulty which I can improve upon.
1. Im not as good as I would like to be.
2. I havent had a ton of outside experience sight reading.
3. Having the same repertoire hinders my ability to sight read a lot.

3. Based on the results above, choose two areas that you need to improve in.
Set specific and realistic goals that will help you improve in the two areas
that you selected. Set goals that you can achieve within the next two
months.
Then tell exactly what you will do to achieve each goal.
Remember, there is ALWAYS room for improvement!
