FADE IN

1. EXT. GANGES GHATS, VARANASI DAY


It's the month of January, the Ghats of Varanasi are
covered in mild mist. A tractor reaches and stops in the
crowded Bazaar.
A few passengers get down, including a less-than-ten-year
old kid, Kishan; he is carries a cloth bag (Shabnam bag)
and wears an old half pant and shirt.
He takes a shared rickshaw with a passenger and it moves
forward through the crowd towards ghats. He gets down near
a ghat, takes out a paper chit from the cloth bag and shows
it to a passerby; that man points out in a direction.

Kishan heads towards the Ghats and sees some people walking
up-and-down on the steps. Others sit in front of a Pundit
and offers prayers. More people bathe in the Ganges.
In some places, food kept on leaf plates is eaten by crows
and dogs.
Kishan shows the paper chit to another passerby who points
to a Pujari sitting on one side of the Ghat. He has a small
shop with piles of old books, some Puja-material and photos
of gods and goddess.
Kishan approaches.
KISHAN
Aaj kitna khubsurat din hai..,
bas thodi si thand hai!
PUJARI
Yahan ki sardeeyan to hamesha hi
khubsurat hoti hi hai..,
(expecting a potential customer)
kya kaam hai?
KISHAN
Aap ke liye to achcha hi hoga..,
dhande ka jo time hai !
The Pujari looks at him in embrrassment, but laughs
sheepishly.
PUJARI
Parlok me aatmaon ko swarg aur
sukh-shanti mile isi kaam ke to
hum paise lete hai.., bade punya
ka kaam hai.., (expecting he
will purchase something) Bolo
tumhe kya chahiye?
Kishan hands him over the paper chit. The Pujari looks at
it without interest and reads.
PUJARI
Shreemati Parvati Kunwar Sing,
Saket Bungalow, Raja Ghat,
District Varanasi, Uttar
Pradesh.
The Pujari looks at Kishan.

PUJARI
Bolo kaise jaoge?
KISHAN
Kaise matlab?
PUJARI
Wahan jaane ke do raaste hai, ek
pul se dusara naanv se, pul ka
rasta lamba hai aur naanv se to
yahin se jaa sakte hai..
KISHAN
Main naanv se jaunga..
PUJARI (IRRITETED)
To neeche jao, yahan kyon khade
ho, naanv to lagi hai..
Kishan quickly takes the paper chit and heads down the
steps. Then pauses, turns towards the Pujari then he yells.
KISHAN
Pujari jee, aatma swarg gayi ya
narak, tumhe kaise pata chalta
hai?
The Pujari looks at him in embarrassment, but by that time
Kishan has reached the bottom of the Ghat.
2. EXT. ON RIVER GANGES, VARANASI - DAY
A somewhat fair Young Man is using an oar to row the boat
down the Ganges, puffing on a cigarette.
Kishan observes him quietly. As the rower returns the
glance Kishan looks down, puts his hand in the river and
plays with water.
Kishan stares at the Young Man again. The rower raises his
eyes brows and gestures "What are you looking at?"
KISHAN
Tumhara naam Shiva hai na?
SHIVA
Kaise jaante ho?

Kishan looks at him and smiles.
FLASHBACK
3. EXT. GANGES, HARIDWAR - DAY
Parvati, age sixty years, is dressed in a Saaree, looks
very elegant, an authoritative woman sitting in a big boat
with Kishan.
PARVATI
Shiva ke munh me hamesha ek
beedi rahti hai, aisa lagta hai
wah beedi pee nahi kha raha
ho.., lekin muze dekhte hi wah
use fenk dega.., bahut seedha
hai.., dhup ho ya baarish,
hamesha chappu liye taiyar rahta
hai...

4. EXT. IN GANGES, VARANASI - DAY
Kishan smiles.
KISHAN
Jaanta hoon.., Parvati Maiya ne
bataya tha.
SHIVA
Hmm, Parvati Maiya se milne jaa
rahe ho? Kya kaam hai?
KISHAN
Hai kuchh.., tum nahi samzoge.
Kishan observes his reflection in the river water. He cups
up some water in his hands.
FLASHBACK
5. EXT. GANGES, HARIDWAR - DAY
The big rowing boat is moves towards the shore. Garbage
floats in the water.

PARVATI
Pahle hum Bhagirathee ka paani
pee sakte the...
KISHAN
Bhagirathee?
PARVATI
Ganga ka ek aur naam! Himaalay
ke hriday se janm lele waali
sabhi nadiyon ka paani nirmal
aur shuddh hota hai; ek nanhe
bachche ki tarah masum..
Kishan observes her face as she is looks into the distance
steadily.
PARVATI
.. Bhagirathee jaise-jaise aage
badhti hai, usme gandagi badhte
jaati hai.., waise hi bachcha
jab bada hota hai, to uske mann
par paap-punya ke sanskaar hote
hai, dheere-dheere uska mann
maleen hone lagta hai..
Kishan looks at her silent face. Parvati still looks at the
distance, leaving that sentence incomplete and holding
something inside her.
PARVATI
..kabhi lagta hai mujh me aur
ganga me koi fark nahi.., saare
dukkhon ko sametkar hum bhi
budhe ho kar mrityu ki aur
badhte hai, us athah mahasaagar
ko apnanane.., us se milne..
Hearing this, Kishan becomes sad.

6. EXT. GANGES, VARANASI

- DAY

The boat reaches nearby a ghat. Kishan comes out of his


reverie.

SHIVA
Tujhe ghar pata hai?
KISHAN
Us raaste par, hai na?
Kishan points towards a big red house.
KISHAN
Wahi ghar hai na?
SHIVA
Tum yeh sab kaise jaante ho?
KISHAN
Main jaanta hoon! Babu ghat ke
baad jo pahla laal ghar hai,
wahi Parvati maiya ka Saket
bungala hai, kyon sahi hai na?
Shiva is shocked. He blows the cigarette smoke from his
mouth. Boat reaches at the ghat.
7. EXT. GATE - DAY
The bungalow is a big and old one. It seems like it has
undergone a few repairs.
Kishan looks sideways and up and down.
PARVATI (V.O.)
Yah hamare purkhon ka ghar tha,
humne is me bahut saare badlaav
kiye hai...
Kishan reaches near the gate and turns back, he sees the
Ganges flowing down.
PARVATI (V.O.)
Yahan ke baramde se ganga dikhai
deti hai.. main kai baar unke
saath kinare par baith kar bahta
paani dekha karti thi..
Kishan opens the gate.

PARVATI (V O)
Is ghar ke har kone me humare
mehnat ki, pyar ki khushboo basi
hai..
8. EXT. COURTYARD / STABLE - DAY
Kishan walks up on the steps, he hears a dog's bark. He
startles, a black color dog barks at him loudly. Kishan
slowly walks towards the animal.
KISHAN
Raja ..! ch, ch, ch.. main tumhe
kuchh nahi karunga.., mujhe
Maiya ne bulaya hai, Parvati
Maiya ne..
The dog stops barking. Kishan extends his hand towards him.
Raja wags his tail and sits near his kennel. Kishan moves
his hand over his head.
KISHAN
Tum to bade mulayam ho.., pyare
Raja, bilkul vaise, jaise Maiya
ne kaha tha..
He suddenly hears the sound of a bell, he turns.
PARVATI (V O)
Raja ke ghar se thoda peechhe
humari gayon ka tabela hai.
INSERT
Parvati feeds green grass to a cow.
INSERT ENDS
Kishan sees some cows in a stable - one of the cows have a
bell around her neck. There are also many goats eating the
green grass. Kishan takes the grass and tends the feed to
one of them.
KISHAN
Aa, aa.., Nandini..
The cow with the bell around her neck looks at Kishan.
Kishan smiles and feeds her grass. Then slowly, he puts his
hand on her head.

PARVATI (V O)
Pahle humare paas sirf ek gaay
thi..., aaj humare paas bahut
gaayen hai.., unme se ek badi
natkhat hai, wah chhoti wali..
Kishan moves to the young calf. The calf shakes her head
angrily. Kishan moves back.
KISHAN
Gomati... tum Maiya ne lagaye
saare ped kha jati ho.., isi
wajah se tumhe humesha daant
padti hai..
Near the stable there is a small temple, a small girl
watches Kishan.
The girl's name is Diya. She is 6-7 years old. She is
dressed nicely as if she is ready to go somewhere.
Kishan is unaware of her presence.
KISHAN
Maiya ne kaha tha, agar tum
jyada masti karogi to wah tumhe
kabhi baahar nahi jaane degi..,
gale me ek rassi latkakar yahi
khunte se baandhe rakhegi.., fir
chillate rahna.. hammba..,
hammba..
He ilitater Hallba, Hammba like a cow. Diya puts her hand
on her mouth and suppresses her laugh. She calls her Mummy.
DIYA
Mummy!
Priya, age 30-33 years old, a tall, fair but thin woman,
comes out of the temple near the Diya. She wears a Salwar
and Kurta. She looks at Kishan.
PRIYA
Who are you.. tum kon ho?
KISHAN
Main Maiya se milne aaya hoon.

PRIYA
Maiya..???
KISHAN
Parvati Maiya.. wah budhi see
aurat..?
PRIYA
Oh, but., wo toh abhi U.S. me
hai.
KISHAN
Dopahar tak aa jayegi na?
Diya laughs at him. Priya looks at Diya, she stops
laughing.
DIYA
You dumb, she went to America..
mere bade-paapa ke paas. Kuchh
din baad aayegi.
Kishan is disappointed. He looks sad.
PRIYA
Kya naam hai tumhara?
KISHAN
Aap Priya chachi ho na?
PRIYA
Tumhe kaise pata?
KISHAN
Maiya ne bataya tha.
PRIYA
Tumhe ..? When?
KISHAN
Peechhale saal.., Maiya jab
Haridwar aayi thi tab..

PRIYA
Oh really.., tum wahan rahte ho?
KISHAN
Haan.
PRIYA
Naam kya hai, yahan kisliye aaye
ho?
KISHAN
Kirham, Maiya ne bulaya tha!
He takes out a piece of paper from his bag and gives it to
Priya to read. They take a walk while reading.
PRIYA
Okay, Thik hai (She thinks
something)
KISHAN
Maiya aur main Haridwar me saath
hi ghumte the.., main Maiya ka
boy friend tha..
DIYA (LAUGHS)
Boy Friend???
KISHAN
Haan, hum dono achche dost ban
gye the.. kabhi naav me, kabhi
riksha me, to kabhi paidal..,
hum Haridwar ki sab jagah ghumne
jaate the..
Kishan indicates his half pants and Shabnam bag.
KISHAN
Yah zola, ye pant usi ne dilwai
hai..
9. INT. BUNGALOW - DAY
Vishnu a 11-12 years old boy comes there running.

VISHNU
Hey come fast, car is ready..
He takes his bag and taps on Diya's head. He asks her.
VISHNU
Who is this guy?
He looks at Kishan.
VISHNU
Will see you later boy... come
Diya our Hindi teacher will get
angry if we arrive late..

EXT. HOUSE ENTRANCE - DAY

Both the children sit inside the car. Priya and Kishan
watch as it exits the gate. Their home servant, Bhawani,
aged 45-50 years, comes out.
BHAWANI
Memaab.., yeh Chandrakant aaj
fir tiffin box le jana bhul
gaya..,
PRIYA
Oh my God!
She takes up the Tiffin boxes from Bhawani.
PRIYA (WORRIED)
Madhav.., children forget the
Tiffin boxes..
Realizing Madhav will not come she runs down the steps. But
the car is gone. Priya puts her hand on her head.
KISHAN
Chachi, mujhe do.., main dekar
aata hoon..
Priya looks at him.
PRIYA
How will you go? Tumhe pata hai
Hindi class kahan par hai..?

KISHAN
Nahi.., lekin Car ke peechhe
jaunga, to panhuch jaunga.
Kishan takes the Tiffin boxes and runs down the steps
following the car. A smile of satisfaction appears on
Priya's face; she walks inside.

EXT. A PATHWAY / ALLEY DAY

Kishan runs hurriedly holding both the Tiffin boxes in his


hands. The car takes a turn and goes behind the houses in
the alley.
Kishan watches it but the car is going to disappear so he
starts running fast. The car moves steadily, inside it the
children are laughing - and suddenly Kishan comes in front of the Car.
The car driver, Chandrakant, aged 55, breaks fast. He looks
angrily at Kishan but he smiles when he sees the Tiffin
boxes.
CHANDRAKANT
Arey tu yahan bhi panhuch
gaya???

INT. STUDY ROOM - DAY

Madhav is a 35-40 year old man, he is reading a book,


wearing a spectacle. Priya suddenly takes his book from his
hand and puts it on the table, smiling at him.
PRIYA
This child is good! He come to
see our Mamma.. let him stay
here till Mumma comes home.
Madhav tries to take the book. But Priya prevents him. He
loses and sits back in his chair.

PRIYA
We came here to spend our
holidays but suddenly all the
responsibility has fallen on
me.., Mumma went to U.S. and I
have to look after this place..,
now who will play with kids?
During vacation they also have
to go to their studies.
Madhav, seeing her concerned, gets up and holds her from
the back, he kisses on her neck. She strugglesMADHAV
I am ready to play with them but
you are sending then to learn
Hindi.., put some responsibility
on me too.., at least I will get
a chance to get off from my
research..
PRIYA
You will never change..,
Madhav holds Priya.
MADHAV
Remember those days at
Cambridge..? You still look the
same.
Priya looks into his eyes-

PRIYA
Madhav, if that kid stays here
our kids will have a company.
MADHAV
So, let him be here (He takes
the book) Now let me study a
bit.
He sits on the chair. Priya looks at him puzzled and rolls
her eyes.

EXT. KITCHENS VERANDAH - DAY

Kishan sits in a verandah next to the kitchen, eating daal


& roti. He gulps down big bites.
The home servant Bhawani places a Lota filled with water
near him.
The old driver Chandrakant comes and stands near the door,
chewing something. He looks with dismay at Kishan's
gobbling.
CHANDRAKANT
Ch, Ch, Ch.. yah aise kyon
bhukkad ki tarah kha raha hai..
Bhawani is at mirror and mending her hair. She gives
Chandrakant a look - he is taken aback. Kishan too looks at
him but continues eating.
BHAWANI
Ae Chandu, tu apna kaam kar,
kyon bachche ko tokta hai..,
apni marjee se khane de use..
CHANDRAKANT
Pata nahi Priya memsahib ne ise
kyon rakha.. lekin ise mere
neeche hi seekhna padega.., ae
Bhawani, ek cup chai lana..
BHAWANI
Abhi thodi der pahle hi to tune
chai pee thi.. jab dekho chabarchabar.., jaa pahle thuk ke aa..
Startled, Chandrakant looks at Bhawani. She stares back
angrily at him.
Bhawani puts some clothes in front of Kishan.
BHAWANI
Yeh tere liye kuchh kapde hai,
Priya madam ne diye hai..
Kishan nods while eating. Chandrakant looks at Kishan, he
puts the plate to his lips and drinks all the daal.
Chandrakant gives a disgusted look.

CHANDRAKANT
Dekh bte, kaam seekhna hai to
meri baat maan ni padgi.., jaisa
main kahu waisa hi karna,
samjhe..
BHAWANI
Huh..
Bhawani gets busy with other chores in kitchen. Kishan
drinks water with the small mug holding it up from his
mouth.
KISHAN
Kya kaha Chandukaka..?
Chandrakant is annoyed.
CHANDRAKANT
Kyon, sunai nahi diya kya?
KISHAN
Maiya ne kaha tha ghar me ek
mariyal bail bhi hai..
Chandrakant raises his eyebrows and looks at him, he is
about to say something but doesn't speak.
FADE TO BLACK

INT. STUDY ROOM - DAY

The telephone rings loudly. Madhav sits there taking notes


from the open books in front of him.
He looks at the ringing telephone very calmly, then puts
his pen to his lips and waits. As the phone goes dead he
continues his work.
15.

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

Kishan washes utensils. Bhawani cuts vegetables. Suddenly


he hears another ring of the telephone.
PRIYA (V.O.)
Madhav! Answer the phone. It
might be Mumma.

Hearing the word 'Mumma', Kishan leaves his work and runs
towards the study room. Seeing Madhav inside, he stops and
stands outside.

INT. STUDY ROOM - DAY

Madhav picks up the phone MADHAV


Hello..
PARVATI (O S)
Kon Madhav.., bte kaise ho..
ghar me sab adjust ho gaye kya?
MADHAV
Maa, main to adjust kar lunga
lekin Priya aur bacchon ko thoda
time lagega.., ek mahine se
jyada nahi rah payenge yahan..
PARVATI (O S)
Tumse phone karna nahi hota
kya..? Humesha mujhe hi lagana
padta hai?
MADAHV
Maa, nothing interesting happens
here.., fir phone lagakar kya
karun?
PARVATI (O S)
Arey budbak, ghar me gaay-bhais,
bakariyan nahi hai kya..
Priya comes in and takes the phone from Madhav. Kishan
stands at the door and observes them talking on the phone.
PRIYA
Mumma, itr le Pqia..
Kishan tries hard to listen to the words of Parvati.
PARVATI (O.S.)
Oh Priya, Raja ki tabiyat kaisi
hai, use samay par dawaiyan
khilana warna..

PRIYA
Yeah Mumma.. lekin..
Parvati goes on talking.
PARVATI (O S)
Nandini aur Gomati ko roj hari
ghas khilana, Chandu ko bolkar
murgeeyon ke liye daana mangwa
lena..
Priya has no interest in Parvati's words, she is waiting
for her turn to talk.
Kishan looks at the telephone receiver very eagerly as if
he could hear her.
Priya can't tolerate it anymore, she suddenly speaksPRIYA
Madhuri... Mumma! How is
Madhsqir heakth? What did
doctors say??
PARVATI (O S)
Arey wah batana to bhool hi
gayi, mujhe kuchh din aur rukna
hoga....
Pqiar face becnler cnmcerned.
PRIYA
Whatr the evoected date??
PARVATI (O S)
Is satrah ko Caesrean karna
hoga, bechari darri hui hai....
Madan bhi apne kaam me vyast
hai..
Standing at the door Kishan gestures to Priya - 'tell Maiya
I have arrived'. But Priya ignores him.
PRIYA
I had two Caesarean. Tell her to
be strong..

PARVATI (O S)
Haan, ek baar yah sab nipat jaye
to main bhi jaldi se ghar aa
jaun.., ghar ki chinta satati
ranti hai.., poudhon ko paani
dalna mat bhulana...
Kishan again tries to attract Priya's attention. She turns
her back towards him while talking.
PRIYA
Okay Mumma, Bye!
Hearing this Kishan steps inside but stops at the door.
Priya puts down the receiver, gives a look to Madhav who is
still reading and goes out of the room.
Madhav is busy. Kishan gathers some courage and moves to
the table, picks up the receiver and puts it to his ear.
He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath as if he is able
to hear Maiya's voice and feel her presence.
KISHAN (WHISPERS)
Maiya.. Maiya..
Kishan looks up, sees Madhav is looking at him. He feels
guilty, he puts the receiver back. Madhav slowly raises his
book in between him and Kishan and goes on reading. Kishan
hears Priya's voice
PRIYA (V.O.)
Kishan....
Kishan runs towards the kitchen.

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

Priya makes tea.


KISHAN
Priya chachi, Chacha ki pariksha
hai kya?
PRIYA
Try to ask him.. unhe poochkar
dekho..
Kishan smiles at her.

EXT. HOUSE BACKSIDE - DAY

An Auto stops at the down steps. Kishan runs out. Vishnu


gets down the Auto, behind him Diya follows, sobbing. The
Auto drives off, Vishnu waves at it.
VISHNU
Bye Chiku, bye Bunty..
Kishan looks at the crying Diya. He walks up to Vishnu and
takes their bags.
KISHAN
Wah kyon ro rahi hai? Kya hua
use?
VISHNU
How do I know? Will you solve
her problem if you know?
Vishnu walks away. Kishan follows the crying Diya inside
the house.

INT. DINING HALL - DAY

Priya sees that Diya is crying.


PRIYA
Oh God...these kids are always
fighting...Diya...did you do
something?
DIYA (SOBS)
I didmt do anything........
PRIYA
You sit here, eat this teabiscuit..
DIYA (SOBS)
Nn.., I dnmt uamt tn eat
anything..
Priya gestures Kishan to feed her and she rushes behind
Vishnu. Diya sits on a chair at the dining table.
Kishan brings tea & a biscuit to the table.

KISHAN
Lo, kha lo..
DIYA
No, I dnmt uamt.
She gets up and goes out to the frontside of the house.

EXT. GHAT - DAY

Kishan takes the biscuit and follows Diya. She stands


silently facing away from him.
KISHAN
Biscuit kha logi to main tumhe
ek cheej bana kar dunga!
DIYA
No, first you make it, then I
will eat.
Kishan smiles. He takes a paper, folds it, makes a round
toy. Diya is fascinated by the sight of it.
Kishan puts the toy in his mouth and blows. It makes a
'Poe' sound. Diya is excited by the toy and the sound made
by it.
DIYA
Give me.. Muze do, muze do...
Kishan gives the paper toy to Diya. She tries but can't
make the sound. Kishan explains the technique to her.
DIYA
Give me, give me.. muze do..
Now, Diya finally makes the sound 'Poe' with that paper
toy. Happy, she plays with it, making the sound again and
again.
Vishnu hides behind a wall, looking on. He runs and
snatches the toy from her and runs away. Diya starts
crying.
DIYA
Hey Bro.., itr l tn, okeare
give it to me.

Kishan puts his hand on her shoulders.
KISHAN
Jaane do use.., main tumhe aise
sou aur bana dunga.
DIYA
Sau?
Diya is surprised to hear 'Sau' from Kishan, rhe dnermt
understand it. He makes hundred in air with his gestures.
She stares in disbelief at him. He smiles at her.
MONTAGE
21.

EXT. TERRACE - DAY

Diya runs, spinning a paper wheel toy. Kishan finishes


making another paper wheel and joins her.

EXT. COURTYARD - DAY

Diya and Kishan fly paper planes in the courtyard.

EXT. RIVER SIDE/SHIVAS BOAT/RICKSHAW - DAY

Kishan shan puts a paper-boat in the river flow, it moves


forward. Both chase it along the shore.
They ride on Shiva's boat. They take a ride on rickshaw.

EXT. UNDER A TREE - DAY

Both sits on a swing and blowing a whistle.

EXT. UNDER A TREE - DAY


DIYA
Who taught you this.. kisne
shikhayii?
KISHAN
Sikhayii nahi Sikhayaa..., mere
Dadaji ne.
DIYA
Dadaji? (Kishan nods)

How do you know my Grandma?
KISHAN
Grandma??? Maiya?? (She Nods)
DIYA
You..(gestures) Grandma..
Boyfrriend.., how?
FLASHBACK

EXT. A GHAT, HARIDWAR - DAY

Down at the ghat, some Pundits perform sacred Puja. People


and Pilgrims walk up & down the steps.
It's a pleasant day. Above the ghat, near a temple, Kishan
sells paper toys along with his Friends. Kishan has a
Bamboo stand, on it his paper and plastic toys are
displayed. His friends sells garlands, coconuts and other
items.
An Ice-fruit vendor besides Kishan sells ice candies. Many
Children gathered around him.
Kishan carries his Bamboo stand and walks behind a Small
Girl and her Mother, asking them to purchase the toys. Her
mother pays Kishan with a 5 Rs note and a 5 Rs coin.
GIRLS MOTHER
Yeh kharab to nahi hoga na?
KISHAN
Bade-bade hawai jahaj kharab ho
jate hai, yeh to sirf dus
qsoae ki cheej hai, khaqab tn
hogi hee.
The girl's mom is shocked on hearing Kishan's answer. He
rests his Bamboo stand to a wall and puts the money in his
pocket. One 5 Rs. coin slips out.
KISHAN (IRRITATED)
Tang aa gaya main is fati jeb
re
The coin bumps down each step towards the bottom of the
Ghat. Kishan tries to catch it. The coin gets stuck to the

shoe of a man and again rolls down. Kishan is almost near
it. The coin stops at the feet of an old woman wearing a
white saaree.
Kishan goes to take the coin. She takes back her feet. She
is Parvati.
PARVATI

Kishan goes to Parvati to hold her hand. Both the hands
reach out towards each other. His little finger touches her
pointing finger. They smile at each other.
Kishan helps her climb up the stairs.

Kishan, holding Parvati's hand, helps her up the stairs; he

Kishan jumps on happily and walks on. Parvati continues
observing him, her smile changes into a sad depressed face.

EXT. ROAD TO KISHAN'S HUT - DAY

A few Children plays cricket on the way to a slum. Kishan


carries his Bamboo stand on his shoulder with the support
of left hand whereas he swings a plastic bag in his right
hand as he walks down the narrow street.

He walks on. The other children go back to their cricket.
Kishan enters a small hut.

INT. KISHAN'S HUT - NIGHT

Kishan rests his Bamboo stand to a wall. He is excited. He


takes out a new pant from the plastic cover. Infront of
him, there is an old handicapped man, age 65 years, sitting
on a wheel chair.
He is Kishan's Dadaji. He has long hair. His beard and
moustache are grey. There are many colorful toys inside the
house.
KISHAN
Dadaji, dekho nayi pant!
Dadaji is irritated.
DADAJI
Kahan se mili?
KISHAN
Maine khareedi hai, abhi.
DADAJI
Itne paise kahan se aaye tere
oaar? Tsme fiq bheek lamgi leqe
mana karne ke bawajud....
KISHAN
Nahi, nahi, Dadaji, maine kisi
se bheek nahi mangi, ek budhiya
ne diye, maine unki madad ki..

DADAJI (HOPELESSLY)
Kitni baar samjhaya hai, kisi
ajnabiyon se paise mat liya
karo.., yah jo itne saare
khiloune bana rakhe hai, usme
apana gujara ho jayega, hsleim
kisi ki madadad ki jaroorat
nahi.
KISHAN
Wo Maiya badi achhi hai, usne
mujhe sau rupaye diye.
Dadaji fumes. He pushes the wheelchair forward, pulls the
pant from Kishan's hand and throws it into a corner. Kishan
is scared.
DADAJI
Achhi hai, Achhi hai, tslhe

Dadaji turns his wheel chair and goes towards tin trunks
stacked on one another, there is a bottle of alcohol, he
starts drinking.
KISHAN
Paani daal kar piyo warna dil
jal jayega...
DADAJI
Kyon, badi fikr hai meri? Abhi
to tune kaha, mere paas koi dil
nahi hai.. bewkuf kahin ka..!
Kishan lifts the pant from the ground.

Kishan slips into his room to avoid any more quarrels.

Kishan puts his pant in the plastic bag.

Dada and Kishan laughs together.

INT. KISHAN'S HUT - NIGHT

Kishan makes rotis on the stove. Dadaji mixes water and


drink in a glass. He takes a sip and moves the wheelchair,
singing a song from an old Hindi film in his loud voiceDADAJI
Kasme wade pyar wafa sab batein
hai baton ka kya, koi kisi ka
nahi yahan ye jhoothe nate hai
naton ka kya.. kasme wade..
Kishan brings a plate of rotis and curry and puts it on the
stool before him. Dadaji wipes away his tears with one hand
and smiles. They both eat from that one plate.

Kishan takes his soap and rubs it on his body.
KISHAN
Aaj mandir jaana hai.
The other child looks at him surprised, Kishan jumps
hurriedly in the water.

EXT. A HOTEL, HARIDWAR - DAY

Parvati sits on a bench, observing a cow feeding her calf.


Her Puja thali is kept besides her. She watches the calf is
suck milk from the cow. Her face becomes sad.
She turns to see Kishan running towards her carrying his
Bamboo stand. Today he has put hair oil on his hairs and
dressed it. He has also put a Tilak on his forehead. A
smile slowly appears on her face.
He holds the same plastic bag from yesterday. He stands in
front of her. Parvati looks at him, but he is silent.
PARVATI
Achhe lag rahe ho.
Kishan looks down and scratches the ground with his feet.
PARVATI
Achhe bachche tumhari tarah hi
dikhte hai...
Kishan takes a long peacock feather from his bag and gives
it to her.

Dadaji ne bhi kabhi nahi kaha..
Parvati looks at Kishan. He is poised. His words touch
Parvati.
PARVATI
Ek kaam karte hai, apne Dadaji
ko mat batana ki tum mere saath
kaam kar rahe ho.
KISHAN
Main unse zooth nahi bol sakta.
PARVATI
Humm, to thik hai, kya tum mujhe
unke paas le chaloge? Main khud

Dadaji is a simple but a straightforward man. He sits in


his wheelchair with a blanket around him, looking at
Parvati seriously.

He moves his wheelchair back and forth. Parvati, standing,
looks at Dadaji calmly. Kishan prepares tea on stove.
DADAJI
Main jaanta hoo, tum use apne
saath le jaakar apne ghar me
naukar banaogi, naukar..!
PARVATI
Jis umr me bachchon ko school
jaana chahiye wahan tum us se
kaam karwa rahe ho, majaduri
karwa rahe ho.., kya hoga is ke
bhavishya ka, aage chalkar yeh
kya banega, tumne kuchh socha hi
nahi.. main use naukar nahi
banana chahti.
DADAJI
Duniya ke saare gande kaam yeh
seekhe-sanwre log hi karte hai,

Dadaji removes his blanket. Parvati is shocked on seeing

glass. She has kept her glass aside and is about to go out.

Thik hai, wah tumhari madad
karne aa sakta hai.., main use
nahi dantunga.
The faces of Kishan and Parvati shine with smiles and
happiness.

EXT. TEMPLE, HARIDWAR DAY

Parvati rings the bell inside the temple. Kishan carries


the Puja thali, Parvati closes her eyes and prays. She
opens her eyes, now her face is full of joy. She smiles at
Kishan.
Kishan and Parvati runs down the temple steps in slow
motion - they are very happy. Kishan dances and throws
flower petals and gives some prasad to the Beggars outside.

EXT. MARKET PLACE, HARIDWAR - DAY

Happy Kishan with huge bags in his hands. Parvati follows


him. He stops and turns back to look at her. She comes near
to him.
PARVATI
Kya hua, kisliye ruke?

She slowly walks forward, Kishan walks with her silently.

Parvati realises that she has made a mistake by asking
Kishan about his mother. She puts her hand on his shoulder.
Kishan comes near her. The love in that silence speaks more
than any words.
PARVATI
Koi baat nahi, chalo, hum bhi
musaafir hai.

Parvati walks by, resting her hand on Kishan's shoulders.
She looks to the front. But, Kishan observes her closely.
After some time, Parvati notices this. She signals with her
eyes: 'What is it?' Kishan nods sideways signaling
'nothing' and turns his head to the front.

Kishan and Parvati travel all around Haridwar, happy,


eating, drinking, and climbing up the stairs.

The song ends. Parvati feeds Kishan. Kishan keeps his hand
on his belly.

PARVATI

KISHAN

Parvati is happy. Kishan drinks water. She wipes her tears
in her Saaqeer emd. Kishan puts the glass down, she smiles
at at him.
PARVATI
Us din tumne muzse puchha tha
na, ki main kyon tum se pyar
karti hoon? Ab tum muze batao ki
tum muzse kyon pyar karte ho?
KISHAN
Main nahi jaanta.
PARVATI
Tumhe batana padega.
Kishan thinks. He finishes eating.
KISHAN
Main akela hoon na, isliye.
PARVATI
Tere paas to Dadaji hai naa.

Kishan stands and goes to a corner. Parvati lifts the
plates.
KISHAN
Kal to tum jaa rahi ho na.. kal
se meri Maiya nahi rahegi..
Parvati puts the plates on the stool.
PARVATI
Mujhe lagta hai, tu peechhle
janam me mera koi saga tha aur
yahan mujhe aise mila. Isliye,
kal main jaungi to rona mat..
When she turns back to see Kishan, he is resting his mouth
on the bed.
PARVATI
Tu sun raha hai na kishan?
She goes near him and sits on the bed and slowly shakes
him. Kishan's eyes are filled with tears. He starts crying
more after seeing Maiya.
Parvati wipes his tears and hugs him, brushing his hair.
Parvati hums a lullaby. Kishan sleeps on her laps
listening. Then she bursts out, let her tears come rolling
down her cheeks and again she hugs Kishan.

A car stands outside the hotel, the driver Chandrakant puts


Parvati's luggage inside the boot space.
From the hotel, Kishan comes out with his shabnam bag along
with Parvati and stops near the car. Chandrakant goes
behind the car, spits and comes back.
Chandrakant opens the car door. Parvati sits inside. She
looks at Kishan.
KISHAN
Maiya, tum fir kab aaogi?
PARVATI
Ab shayad hi aana ho..
KISHAN
Irka latkab, tsl kabhi Haqiduaq
nahi aaogi.
PARVATI
Aaungi, Ganga Maiya bulaegi to
aana hi hoga.
Kishan looks sad.
PARVATI
Maine jo pata likhkar diya hai
uspar khat jaroor likhna; agar
likhna nahi aata to kisi se
likhwa lena; kabhi aane ka man
hua to aa jana, lekin apne
Dadaji ko kabhi akele mat
chhodna...
Chandrakant hears them from the driver's seat. He gets a
little irritated because they are taking so much time. He
turns his head and gives a look from the corner of his eye.

Didi, der ho rahi hai.

over hers.

The car starts and moves slowly away. Kishan follows the
car for some distance.
Parvati waves through the window. Kishan stands and looks
at the car until it disappears from his sight.

EXT. PLAYGROUND, HARIDWAR - DAY

A few children play cricket. Holding his shabnam bag,


Kishan passes the ground.
A BOY
Aaja Kishan, fielding kar le.
Kishan walks on silently.
OTHER BOY
Arey wo nahi aayega, aaj nahi,
kal nahi, parson bhi nahi..
humesha usi budhiya ke saath
ghumta hai...
At the same moment, a boy hits the ball high in the air
towards Kishan, who catches the ball and throws it back at
stumps.
The ball hits the stumps and all the three wickets fall
down. All the children stop playing and look at Kishan with
a surprise. Kishan walks away.

Kishan opens the door and goes inside the house. Dadaji is
happy to see him. He teases Kishan.
DADAJI
Kya baat hai! Aaj jaldi chhutti

KISHAN
Who chali gayi.

Waah! Badi khushi ki baat hai..,
kya thaat tha tera uske rahte
hue.., usne kuchh diya, sona,

KISHAN

Kishan puts his hand on his heart.

Dadaji laughs laudly.

Kishan goes towards his cot and sits.


DADAJI
Tu uski baatein seekh gaya hai,
philosophy zadne lag gaya, kyon?

DADAJI
Sun Kishan, uske aane se pahle
tere aur mere beech koi nahi
tha. Tum mere liye aur main
tumhare liye bass.., yahi apna
jeevan tha. Hum dobara ise shuru
kar sakte hai..
KISHAN
Muze kuchh nahi sun naa.
DADAJI
Chal uth, roti bana.. muze bhook
lag rahi hai.

DADAJI
To kya main bhookha rahunga?
KISHAN
Mere jhole me dekho.., tumhare
liye kuchh rakha hai.
Kirhamr shabnam bag hangs on a peg. Dadaji puts his hand
in the bag. He takes out a parcel. He smells it then looks
towards Kishan's room with all the love in his eyes filled
with tears.

EXT. IN GANGES, VARANASI - DAY

Shiva's boat is laden with green vegetables. A cigarette is


still stuck in his lips as he rows the boat. Kishan rests
his back on a vegetable sack.
He looks at the smoke blowing through Shiva's mouth.
SHIVA
Aajkal kaam badh gaya hai tera,
din raath khatate dekh raha hoon
tujhe...
KISHAN
Hmm, Bhawani mujhe chota Chandu
bulane lagi hai..
Shiva whirls smoke from his mouth.
SHIVA
Maiya kab aane wali hai?
KISHAN
Nahi pata.
SHIVA
Kisi ne bataya nahi?

Chachi to humesha bahar ghumne

Madhav chacha ko kitabon se

Kishan looks sad.

Kishan calmly looks at the river. He disturbs water with
his hand.
SHIVA

Kishan sits on his cot and counts money. He puts coins and
notes one by one in a box.
Dadaji comes in and sees Kishan counting money. He gets
angry.
DADAJI
Tu paise kyon gin raha hai?
KISHAN
Mujhe har ek paise ka hisab
chahiye, aap hi ne kaha tha na..
DADAJI
Haan, lekin tu abhi is waqt kyon
hisab kar raha hai?

Tu kisi cheej ki taiyari kar

KISHAN

Kishan looks at Dadaji for a moment and turns his head.
KISHAN
Mujhe pata tha, tum aise hi
sochoge, to soch lo.
DADAJI
Tu mujhe chhod ke to nahi jaa
raha na Kishan?
KISHAN (LOUDLY)
Tum yahan ho isiliye to nahi jaa
raha naa..
DADAJI (SADLY)
Main nahi rahunga to tum chale
jaoge?
They both look into each other's eyes. Kishan lowers his
sight.
DADAJI (SADLY)
Ek din sab ko ganga maiya ki god
me jaana hai.
KISHAN
Dadaji aisa mat kaho.

bachchon ne to kabhi meri

Kishan closes the door from inside.

Dada coughs. He turns the wheelchair and goes outside. His
eyes are filled with tears.
Inside, Kishan stands near a window and looks outside with
tearful eyes.

Morning view of river Ganges. Because of yesterday's rain,


the river has a heavy flow of water.

INT. KISHAN'S HUT - DAY

There is a teapot on the stove. Kishan pours tea in a


glass cup. He takes the tea to Dadaji who is still
sleeping.
His wheelchair is empty except for white paper bird.
KISHAN
Dadaji, chai..
He keeps the tea on the tin trunks and pats Dadaji.
KISHAN
Utho, chai pee lo.., thandi ho
jayegi.
Dadaji doesn't respond. Kishan removes the blanket, thinks
Dadaji is asleep. He shakes him but Dadaji's head hangs on
one side.
Kishan steps back, he senses something bad happened and
stumbles on the wheelchair. The white bird drops at his
side. He understands that his Dadaji is no more.
He starts biting his fingers, tries to stand up with the
support of the wall but slowly sits down.

Diya cries. Kishan sits in front of her.


KISHAN
Tumhe kya hua, kyon ro rahi ho?
Diya wipes her tears sobbing in between.
DIYA

Dekho, ab yahan mera sab kuchh
hai.., tum ho , chachi hai,
chacha hai aur Raja bhi hai..

Diya looks at Kishan. He is laughing. They hear Priya's

Diya runs. Kishan's eyes are filled with tears.

INT. MADHAV'S ROOM - DAY

Priya packs her bag. Madhav rests on the bed reading a


book. There are two more bags near the bed.
PRIYA
I am really happy with you...
Madhav suddenly looks at Priya, she corrects her words
PRIYA
I mean... you agreed for this
tour. I had planned for seven
days but three days are fine. At
least kids will have a change...
I am restless here..
She looks at Madhav as she finishes her packing. She lifts
the other bag by the bed.
PRIYA
My god! Why is it so heavy?
She quickly unzips the bag, which is filled with books. WAR
& PEACE has been placed on top.
PRIYA
What is this, Madhav? You are
bringing books on tour?
WAR & PEACE falls out in front of Madhav. He looks at it
with sadness and anger.

Kishan buttons up a new shirt over his old shirt. Diya


stands before him.
KISHAN
Chachi sach me mujhe apne saath
le jaana chahti hai?
DIYA
Yes, god promise!
KISHAN
Msjhe mahi kagta, laim Haqiduaq
se bhaaga to seedha yahan
pahuncha, kahi aur gaya hi
nahi..
DIYA
You know there we will have a
big swing hammock, (gestures)
giant wheel! and roller coaster
and water kingdom bhi.

Listening to Diya's words, Kishan does the last button on
the shirt.
DIYA
Wow! You looking so good (She
gestures) This shirt absolutely
fits you better than Vishnu.
Kishan feels happy with her words. He smiles. Priya comes
in.
PRIYA
Where is your Cap Diya? Put it
into your bag now, and what are
you doing here?
DIYA
Vishnu's shirt! For Kishan.., he

on tour..
PRIYA
For Tour? Diya, who told you he
is coming with us? Kisne kaha wo
humare saath aa raha hai?
Kishan and Diya both get angry at her words. Kishan stands
silently.
DIYA
Why not Mom? Please!!!
PRIYA
Dear Diya, How can we take him
on tour? Who will take care of
animals, your Dad?
Kishan slowly opens his shirt buttons.
DIYA

Priya sees Diya watching Kishan remove his shirt. Priya
looks at Kishan and leaves.

EXT. COURTYARD / STABLE - DAY

Raja and Kishan sits next to each other in the yard. Raja
eats Pedigree from one of Kishan's hand; Kishan feeds
himself with the other hand. Both keep their eyes on the
gate.
KISHAN
Raja, aaj choutha din hai..,
teen din me wapas aaungi, aisa
kaha tha chachi ne..

Raja eats whole Pedigree and leaves. Nothing is for Kishan
in his hands.
KISHAN
Abe, tu jara dheere kha, mera
khana khatm ho gaya hai, isliye
tera khana khana pad raha hai...
Raja makes a sound.
KISHAN
Tera khana mere khane se achha
hai!
Kishan chews Pedigree. The phone rings inside the house.
Kishan becomes alert.
KISHAN
Raja, Maiya ka phone ho sakta
hai!
He runs towards the door with Raja following him. The door
is locked. Kishan kicks the door, but it doesn't open.
He tries to open the side window pane. But then, to his
embarrassement, the other window opens on its own. He sees
the phone on the table, ringing. He puts his hands inside
but he is too short to reach it - and the phone stops
ringing.
He looks to the side. There is a stick near him. The phone
rings again. He pokes the stick through the window and
carefully lifts the receiver.
He slowly brings the stick towards him. But the receiver
overbalances, falls off the stick and hangs from the wire.
Kishan throws the stick in anger and looks at the receiver
through the window grille.

EXT. GATE - DAY

A boat stops near the steps. Parvati gets down and walks
towards the gate.
Kishan sees her, he runs down and hugs her, Parvati puts
her hand on his shoulder.

PARVATI
Tum bahut duble ho gaye ho
Kishan. Bahar kyon baithe the?
Ghar me koi nahi hai kya?
KISHAN
Sab log tour par gaye hai.
PARVATI
Tumhe akela chhodkar..? Hmm, koi
baat nahi, mere paas dusari
chabi hai.
KISHAN
Mujhe yahan akele darr lag raha
tha Maiya..
PARVATI
Main aa gayi hoon na, ab kisi se
darne ki jaroorat nahi.. ab se
main jahan bhi jaungi tumhe
saath le jaungi.
Kishan hugs her again. She moves her hand over his head.

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

Kishan sleeps on the kitchen floor. Someone's hand wakes


him.
PRIYA
Kishan.. Kishan..
Kishan wakes up suddenly.
PRIYA
Get up.., if someone robs this
house, then also you will be
sleeping..,
Kishan looks outside through the window. Some People stand
on the verandah.
PRIYA
In Verandah.., peetal ke lambe
diye rakhe hai, clean it and
andar le aao.

In one corner there are two lamps, he walks past the


Madhav's room.
In a room Madhav sits on bed, looking very sad. Diya is
asleep beside him. People come and go out of the room.
Vishnu stands in front of Madhav. Madhav hugs him and looks
away as if looking at Kishan.
Kishan picks up the lamp kept at the corner and wipes them
with a cloth, then takes the lamps down the living room.

INT. LIVING ROOM -DAY

Many people stands there. Kishan looks around. A man,


Ramkrishna, takes the lamps from Kishan. Kishan looks at
him as the man talks on a phone.
RAMKRISHNA (ON PHONE)
Yeh sab neend me hi hua..
Kishan's attention moves through the crowd to a photo of
Parvati. His heart starts beating loudly.
RAMKRISHNA (ON PHONE)
Mujhe aaj subah pata chala.. we
came immediately here..
Kishan walks through the crowd. Parvati's photo is adorned
with a garland.
A woman, Rajani, lights lamps and incense sticks in front
of photo. Kishan starts biting his nails, he turns and runs
through the crowd. The crowd parts before him.

EXT. GANGES SHORE, VARANASI - DAY

Kishan runs directly to the river shore. He cryies


helplessly. There is no one around, only flowing water of
the river. Kishan stands there alone.

Madhav opens the door into Parvati's room and slowly places
his foot inside.
Parvati sits on a relaxing chair and reading Mahabharat.
Madhav suddenly feels a hand on his shoulder, he turns to
find Priya standing there in Salwar Kurta. Priya sees tears
in Madhav's eyes.
PRIYA
Madhav..??
Madhav removes his spectacles and wipes his tears. Priya
has never seen Madhav crying.
PRIYA
Don't you lose hope Madhav, be
strong! Whatever has to happen,
had happened.., relatives are
coming here.., this room needs
to be cleaned and we have to
make an arrangement for them
too, be positive.., come, ketr
move.., Kishan will clean it
soon.., Kishan ise saaf kar

They leave the room, passing Kishan cleaning the floor. He
works hard and is sweating heavily. He looks up. They walk
out without noticing him.
Kishan enters the room. He smells the aroma and takes a
deep breath.

Kishan makes rotis. Bhawani pours tea into a great many tea
cups.

Kishan stops his work and puts each cup on a tray. He lifts
the tray and goes to serve the people with tea.

Kishan supplies the tea cups to the people sitting in the


hall. Ramakrishna chats with Harimama.

DIYA

KISHAN
Diya, main kaam kar raha hoon..

Priya sits with Vishnu on the bed, stroking him.


Ramakrishna enters. He looks worried.

Priya, there is some problem..,
Madan is not coming with the

Shiva rows the boat. Kishan sits silently near a big bundle
of green grass.

Kishan looks at him and slowly turns his head: NO. Shiva
takes a last draw on the beedi and throws it in the river.
SHIVA
Musibat me hamesha Maiya ne meri
madad ki hai.., wahi ek ghar tha
jahan se main kabhi khaali haath
nahi gaya.., Maiya ke baad
shayad us ghar se naata hi toot
jaye..
The boat reaches at the shore, Kishan takes the grass
bundle on his head and walks towards house.

EXT. COURTYARD / STABLE - DAY

As Kishan walks through the gate carrying the grass bundle,


he sees some people taking away the cows. Hurriedly he
walks into the stable.
The stable is empty; there is not a single cow and a goat.
He drops the bundle there and goes into the kitchen.

Chandrakant cuts vegetables and Bhawani is fries something.

Chandrakant washes his hands. The dog, Raja comes close to
Kishan.

Then he looks at Kishan and asks him CHANDRAKANT
Tu ise le ja apne saath.., lekin
tu kahaan jayega?
Kishan goes into a deep thought, he walks out of the
kitchen.

Parvati's hand writes in a diary. She tears the page off


and gives it to Kishan. Kishan looks at it but doesn't
understand anything.

Kishan along with dog Raja sits alone in the completely


empty stable. The pegs look like big thorns, the ropes lie
on the ground, food utensils half filled, green grass
untouched.
All the pegs are open and silent. Kishan looks at the
bungalow where people are still walking in and out.

INT. MADHAVS ROOM - DAY

Ramakrishna chats with his friends sitting on the bed.


Kishan carries a bundle of Saaree.
RAMAKRISHAN
Who would like to stay in

is suffering here..
Kishan follows Priya, she wears Chudidaar and Kurta and
holds a bundle of Saarees in her hand.

Did you finish your shopping?
PRIYA

Chandrakant chews something. He sees Kishan standing near


the gate watching the aeroplanes in the sky. He spits and
goes over to him.

airport me kab ki aa chuki..,
kuchh der me aa jayegi yahan..

Chandrakant holds his hand and pulls him along.

Kishan jerks out of Chandrakant's grip and runs out of the
gate.

Kishan runs down on the road. He sees an ambulance and runs


behind it. He almost reaches it but then ambulance moves
far from him. He runs even faster.
Suddenly, he slips and falls. His knee is injured. The
ambulance turns and drives off. Kishan stands up with great
difficulty.

EXT. COURTYARD - DAY

People have gathered in the courtyard. Kishan arrives, his


clothes soaked in sweat. He tries to pass through the
crowd, but the people block his way.
He sees Bhawani is crying, Shiva standing there with a
cloth tied around his head. He has no cigar in his mouth
now. Parvati's body is kept in the box of a mobile
mortuary.
Shiva comes to Kishan throug the crowd and takes him to
her. Kishan looks at Parvati's body.
We see some QUICK FLASHBACKS here.

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

Parvati's body is kept inside now. Ramakrishna, GK, Priya,


Harimama, Madhav and few other people have a serious
discussion. Priya is in Saaree.
MADHAV
Whem....? Afteq Madamr aqqitak?
GK
He is the Eldest son.., there is
no other way... we have to wait!
Priya is irritated and worried and she sternly saysPRIYA

the table. Even Ramakrishna finishes it in one breath and
bangs it down. Then Madan and Madhav bang their glasses on

Everyone starts looking at them, they all start laughing
and then banging the glasses musically on the table.
Kishan cannot tolerate the sounds of banging, he feels
their laughter is dirty, everything around him starts
blurring; he wipes his eyes, closes his ears and runs away.

Two Workers walks past Priya carrying the packed belogings.


Diya watch it silently holding the ash-pot. One worker
walks up to them.

Priya takes the key and goes to the main entrance of the
house. Diya is standing behind her.
As she is about to close the main door Kishan comes out
running from inside. She suddenly gets scared.

Priya closes the door, puts the latch, places the lock and
starts turning the key.
Kishan watches all this with a heavy heart. The house is
now locked. Priya holds Diya's hand and walks down the

Diya again turns and looks at Kishan. As they reach the
gate Priya stops there and looks at Kishan. Diya stares at

Kishan does not have any answer to this question. He looks
at them, his eyes have become still and motionless.

hears Parvati's voice.

This Echner im Madamr limd. Madam rushes out of the hotel.

EXT. A GHAT, DEV-PRAYAG - DAY

He rush towards the ghat. He finds children still searching


for Kishan near the ghat.
He finds Diya and Vishnu.
MADAN
Where is Kishan?
DIYA
We didmt fimd hil.
Madan rush towards the down steps, water flows heavily. He
sees Kishan's bag. He takes out Peacock feather.
He looks around, Kishan is sitting at the corner of the
step. Kishan is staring at the flowing water.
Madan is overwhelmed to see him, tears comes in his eyes.
MADAN
Kishan...?
Kishan looks up to him silently. He is blank, without any
emotions on his face.
Madan walks upto him and he gives his hand to him. Kishan
raises his hand. Their fingers touch each other. The hands
holds each other tightly.
A smile appears on Madan's tearful face. He pulls the
Kishan towards him and gives him a big hug.
