Each seat at each table has a job (ex. table leader, noise monitor, folders,
supplies) for clean up and once the class has cleaned up if there is time the
set up for the next class begins.

Sequence of Activities

Day 1
1. Students will listen to interactive book "Arlo Needs Glasses"
2. Step by step drawing instructions for students to create their Arlo
1. Students start by drawing a large circle in the center of their
paper (held vertically)
2. Two U shapes are added on each side of the circle for Arlo's
ears
3. The far left U and the far right U are closed off on the top of
Arlo's head
4. two 1/4 circles are added at the bottoms of the U's for Arlo's
shoulders
5. Arlo's nose is added at the bottom of the circle
6. zig zag lines are applied to all lines around Arlo to make him
look fluffy.
7. Eyes will be applied later when the glasses are applied.
8. Students my add a mouth or a dog tag now if they wish.
3. Student will then color in Arlo with crayons completely being sure to
pick colors that are found on dogs.
Day 2
1. Students will create glasses for their Arlo
1. Using a half glasses tracer students will trace one half then flip
the tracer over to complete the other side of the glasses.
2. students will color in the glasses completely and draw in eyes
in the center of the glasses.

3. The glasses will be cut out around the outside and glued onto
Arlo where his eyes are going to be.

ELL- Students will be given one on one instructions as well as examples to


follow.
at risk- Students will be given extra support when needed (drawing Arlo,
tracing glasses)
special education- Students will be given extra support when needed
(drawing Arlo, tracing glasses)
advanced- students will be prompted to create little details on Arlo to
personalize him.
