1. PURPOSE OF TESTS
These tests cover all inspection and testing to be performed on the main AC distribution board
after
Installation and prior to energization
This procedure provides a safe, standardized approach for initial inspection, checkout, precommissioning testing and data documentation of 400 V Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear. The use
of different testing equipment may result in performing slightly different steps.

7. PRELIMINARY CHECKS
-
Check that all the distribution board constituent parts are fitted and conform to the
applicable drawings (type, ground fault sensor, ratings, voltage monitoring relays,
voltmeters, ammeters, circuit breakers, etc...).
Check the marking of the distribution board components.
Check that it is not possible to come into contact with energized equipment when
working on the system.
Check the main busbar and auxiliary circuits (control, monitoring, alarm, fault) for
continuity.
Check the grounding busbar continuity and connection to the main earthing system.
Check that the panel hinged doors are connected to the frame by earthing braids.
Check the door locks for correct operation.

Check the connections for conformity with the reference drawings and their tightness.
Open all the incomers and load circuit breakers.
Check the connections for conformity with the reference drawings and their tightness.
8. ELECTRICAL CHECKS
8.1.
For performing this test, it is generally recommended to use a milliohmmeter for continuity
measurement.
8.2.
It is recommended to perform these tests before connection starting so all isolating devices will be
closed.
If cables are already connected, open the isolating devices before any test. Downstream circuit
will be
done with power cables tests.
Disconnect the ground sensing device and the control cables.
Using a 1000 V DC megohmmeter, measure the insulation resistance after a one minute
electrification
time between :
Each phase and the 2 others ones + Neutral with ground.
Neutral and 3 phases with ground.
Using a 500 V DC megohmmeter, measure the insulation resistance after a one minute
electrification time between:
Auxiliary circuit and ground.
Reconnect the cables after testing.
8.3.
Check the circuit breakers for presence and conformity with the reference drawings (type,
magnetic rating, thermal rating and label)

Indicators
Using a test set power supply, check the values read on the indicators.
If any associated converters check the indications to the corresponding output terminal block.
8.4.1.2.
Under/Overvoltage Protection
Using a test set power supply, check the relay operation and adjust to the desired rating.
The protection information reports shall be checked up to the distribution board output terminal
block.
8.1.1. Energizing
Connect the incoming cables from Auxiliary transformer or from Main Distribution board.
Check the presence of the mechanical protectors preventing any accidental contact with live parts.
Open all the outgoing disconnecting devices.
Supply the distribution board via the incomer and check for voltage and correct phasing upstream
of all disconnecting devices, indicators and protection.
Check the distribution board alarm information return up to the output terminal blocks.

The both incoming supplies are readiness in the LVAC distribution board.
Check that all necessary protective and signaling devices are in services.
Voltage measurement, phase sequence check and voltmeter reading to be done for each busbar.
Close all outgoing circuit-breaker when necessary after checking of the corresponding low voltage
power cables and their phasing.
