An article on the history of the development of technology. (n.d.). Retrieved February 15, 2016, from

Technological development moved at a slow pace, this was because the fabrication of tool, with them not
having many tools to work with it made the process of manufacturing or inventing something more difficult.
The people built things by trial and error. During the 19th century, science was able to grow quickly. Which also
led to technology progressing quickly. Some examples of this are Davys safety lamp and electric generator.
Once the scientific principles were known they were then applied to make a machine. For example, an electric
generator involves the principles of electricity, mechanical engineering, heat conduction, etc. During this period
better engines and machines were developed as well as alternate sources of energy were found. This led to large
scale industrialization across Europe and America. Now it was possible to produce goods on a mass scale.

During the industrial Revolution rapid progress was made in the field of transportation. The technology of
steam-engine was used in making railway engines and steam-powered ships. These developments helped in
rapid transportation of goods and people. Later the development of cars and airplanes.

This article is very useful, I liked the part where it says technology is a material object created by the
application of mental and physical effort to nature in order to achieve some values it evolves in three stages:
tools, machine, automation. This really made sense to be because it simplified how technology has developed
in three words, it did go from tools between 600 BC and AD 1800, it then went to machines between AD 18001900, and then to automation. It also was able to show a historical timeline of technology and all of the
different inventions that wee showed for each year from the early 600 BC to now. Showing how technology
was able to progress and develop over the many years.
