FIRE DRILL MARCH 27 @ 1400 HRS.

OVERALL FIRE CHIEF:

CSN

ON SCENE FIRE LEADER:

ENRICO ABELLA

SCENARIO:

The burner on F.O. Boiler No. 2 backfires during testing after a


rutine maintenance job. The backfire sets spilled fuel oil on the
floor on fire.
Operation personel at the scene tried to put out the fire with the
two portable CO2 fire extinquisers located nearby the boiler, but
they failed to do so.
Oil is continuing to flow out on the floor from the supply line to
the boiler.
One maintenance personel is missing (Jack), presumably knocked
out by the backfire.
All personel will muster according to the musterlist.

FIREDAMPERS:

Firedampers for auxiliary enclosure will be closed (simulation


only) by electrician and wiper on duty. Note: the firedampers and
ventilation fans will remain open and running as barge load is
100 %.
Access doors to auxiliary enclosure will be checked also.
Standby electrician will start emg. Firepump.

HEADCOUNT:

A headcount on the parking area shows indeed that Jack is missing.

FIREFIGHTING:

Smoke diving team 1 will locate shut off valve for fuel line
and close the valve (simulation only).
Smoke diving team 2 will search and rescue the missing person.
The fire will be attacked with fire hoses from two sides by two
teams. Each team consisting of two smokedivers. Both teams will
attempt to put out the fire. Note: No pressurized hoses inside Aux.

FIRST AID:

First aid will be given to the injured person.

ADD. COOLING:

One additional hose will by prepared to be used to cool down aft


bulkhead from outside by fire hose team 3. If this will be found
necessary.

EQUIPMENT:

Emergency fire pump will be used.


3 sets of hoses/nozzles will be deployed and pressure tested.
2 set of smoke divers equipment will be tested.
