Course Description
This copyright course emphasizes the various legislations on copyright and related rights and aims to provide the
student with an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the general principles of copyright and related right law. The
course also introduces the international treaties on copyright and related rights, the role of WIPO and the WTO in the
worldwide protection of copyright and related rights, as well as recent developments and trends in the area of
international copyright and related rights.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to:
have a deeper understanding of the basic principles in copyright law and related rights
understand the different stakeholders in the copyright system and be able to look for a balance between the
diverse and opposing interests
be able to analyze and compare the different case scenarios and apply this skill to new sets of facts.
