Learning Target:
Students will solve double digit plus single digit addition without
regrouping using a four step strategy.
Lesson Objective:
When given 10 single digit plus double digit addition problems without
regrouping students will solve with 100% accuracy.
Data will come from:
Exit slip at the end of the lesson that has ten double digit plus single
digit addition problems without regrouping.
Materials
: exit slips (provided by teacher), worksheet (provided by teacher), pencils, steps
of strategy written on a note card for each student on back of note card place value chart
(provided by teacher), whiteboard, whiteboard markers, whiteboard erasers.
While working on worksheets, students may help others with problems. If students
need help, they may call the teacher or student helper over. Students may use their
strategy note card.
Hand out exit slip
and have students complete it independently without using the
strategy card or any other aid.
Transition back into class.
