LINGUISTIC BARRIER

LANGUAGE AND ACCENTS


Language: is a system of communication used by a
particular community or country
Accent: is a unique mode of sound production
influenced by the speakers native language

SLANG
a type of language that consists of words and
phrases that are regarded as very informal, are more
common in speech than writing, and are typically
restricted to a particular context or group of people

IDIOMS
is a phrase or a fixed expression that has a figurative
or literal meaning
a group of words established by usage as having a
meaning not deducible from those of the individual
words

JARGONS
are special words or expressions that are used by a
particular profession or group and are difficult for
others to understand

5.

ENUNCIATION
refers to saying all the sounds clearly

PREVENTING THE BARRIER

Avoid using slang, jargons, and idioms

receiver

each word its fair share of time

refers to how you say or articulate words
