Learning Targets:
I can explain what an idiom is, how idioms are used in every day
language, and provide my own examples.
*I will set the timer on my iPhone and the student will write down
as many idioms as he can in four minutes. I will assist him. Then
the student and I will work together to write down the meaning of
the idioms he identified.
*Next, the student will pick four of his favorite idioms and
illustrate them. For example, if he writes down hit the hay, he
might draw a kid in bed or cut a picture out of a magazine of
someone looking exhausted. When he is finished, I will laminate
each idiom and use them to display an idiom of the week in our
classroom for a month.
